Historique

Fondé en 2010.

The publisher of the Victoria Dining Guide, Matthew Takoski bought Baan Thai Restaurant on Blanshard when the previous owner fell ill. It was a way of continuing what was then one of Victoria’s only Thai restaurants. But more than that Takoski had strong desire to support the members of the Thai community who worked there. «I had spent a lot of time in Thailand and really enjoyed the food, which was taking the world by storm, and I also developed a place in my heart for the Thai people.» Takoski recalls. That’s all it took and I made a five-minute decision to purchase the restaurant.” Encouraged by Baan Thai Fans Takoski opened his second location in Oak Bay and recently opened the third Baan Thai to serve Royal residents at Broadmead Village.
