Atrocious customer service — so bad that I signed up for Unilocal to write this review. If you’re looking for cupcakes I would avoid supporting this business — plenty of other great options in town

Meh. Ordered a dozen and most were tasteless and stale. The icing was creamy but tasted like processed topping. They used to be good but this location is very poorly run. Frankly for the kids we might as well go to the grocery store and pay less than half the price for fresh.

The very BESTFRESH CUPcakes I ever ate!!! I never have time to cook for Christmas so I special ordered a Christmas log to pick up on Christmas Eve. I served it to my company and they could not stop saying, «This is so good and can I have another slice». The cutest shop too and wonderful service too. Thanks for the great baking love your cupcakes.

Meh. As my wife loves cupcakes(and I don’t object to them myself) we have visited many cupcake places in our travels. This wasn’t one of he best, that’s for sure. The cake was stale on the outside on both our selections. The frosting was oddly waxy and lacked flavour. At 3.40 per piece, we have certainly paid more for ‘high end’ cupcakes, but these were overpriced at half the price. Should have been on sale as ‘day olds’. We won’t be back.

I stopped in for a little treat to eat on the waterfront. Every kind looked so, so good. I got the Red Velvet cupcake; I’m lately a huge RV fan. It looked so good! I carried it with pride until I found somewhere to sit. After one bite I was confused, «did I order carrot cake?», because that is EXACTLY what it tasted like. I tried another bite to make sure. I couldn’t eat it — not a carrot cake fan. I saved it for my friend to try, to ensure i wasn’t going crazy — she confirmed. It was like they put red dye in the carrot cake mix. Super disappointed — but, hopefully that was just a one-off. I wish I had tried more of their cupcakes so I could give a better review.

My husband was at a conference in Victoria and I tagged along. I found this little shop and went twice! Today is our last day and I plan on going again. Maybe this time ill bring one back for my husband. I am a frosting hater. I tend to scrape it all off and discard it. However this frosting is delicious. It’s so creamy without being overly sweet. The cake part is light. It’s a definite do not miss. If I were a local it would be my go to place for sweet things. Def

The cupcake I had… the french silk was good. I thought the frosting could have had more of a coffee flavor and I was not crazy about the texture of the frosting but the cake OMG!!! It was awesome. Another bonus was the lady who was working so kind and helpfull. I will be going back to this place if/when I go back to the city of Victoria.

If you know me, you know I love cupcakes. So when my sister and I walked by this little shop, even though we were stuffed from dinner, I immediately did a right angle into the front door. It was just about closing time, and the remaining selection was not great(they had about 5 total cupcakes left). I took a quick glance over, and chose the plain vanilla. My sister took the lemon. The lady behind the counter asked us if we wanted them packaged To-Go, I replied with«I’ll take mine To-Eat, please»… just hand over the cupcake and no one will be hurt. We paid and quickly left, as we could tell she was trying to clean up and close down for the evening. I would have bugged her with a few questions, but decided she looked anxious to go home. My vanilla was decent, the frosting had a very strong butter taste that I was not too keen on. This did not stop me from finishing every last bit of it. The cake itself was very dense, and definitely vanilla — you could taste the real vanilla beans they must have scraped into the batter. I asked my sister how she liked her lemon the next morning, as she didn’t eat it right away, and she agreed on the strong butter flavor, but liked it none the less.

Wow I just found out that Smittys family Restraunt in Sidney B. C has a signature cupcake from Ooh LaLaCupcakes… It is lemon and orange and it is addictive. Since I had my first one I can’t resisit buying them for my family and friends… I’ll be back for more. and guess what they are going to be giving them away at «Sidney Meet Up» on March 15th… See you there and bring your appetite

Wow is right! I’m a huge cupcake fan(I mean how can you not be? they’re adorable and tasty!) and had to try them when I heard about them. The shop itself is in a small awkward plaza on hillside with a great little vibe. Since I hadn’t tried their goods, I chose based on looks which ended up being the cookie monster cupcake. While the price was a little steep, I completely forgot about it the minute I tasted the icing. O… M…G theres just something they do to that icing that makes it super fluffy, light and yet full of flavour. I’ve been to a popular cupcake place in Calgary and thought that their cupcakes were wonderful but this place blew them out of the water! Moist and tender cupcake with the added bonus of a cookie baked right into it. A great surprise if you ask me! Normally I find cupcakes too sweet but they had a perfect balance and it took very little time for me to finish it off(might have licked the paper cup clean…). I did end up picking up half a dozen for some close friends of mine as a thank you for work done on my computer. They loved them as well! All in all, I’d go back and shell out $ 3.00 for this delectable treat any day.

Wow. I’ve gone past here a zillion times — I only live six or seven blocks away. Every time I think«I should really try…» but the timing is off, or I’m in a rush, or whatever whatever. Also, my gentleman friend and I are both trying to make the scale numbers get smaller instead of bigger, so if we’re going for a treat, it had better be damn good. And in splitting our time between Victoria where I live and Seattle where he lives(yes, wacky, I know), we have our cupcake choices of Pink Sugar(the amazing vegan cupcakery in Victoria), and in Seattle — good lord, Yellow Leaf, Cupcake Royale and Trophy — to START. So perhaps we didn’t really feel the need for more cupcake competition. Or maybe we feared it couldn’t possibly live up to the current insane cupcake trendy-hype. Buuuuutttt on Saturday, we went. And it did. My GOD, those were good cupcakes. The place itself(to get everything non-cupcake out of the way) is small, neat, decorated in a bright, funky, pleasant way. The locale kind of sucks — parking is at a premium(there’s a tiny private lot — 4 spots I think) and it’s a weird little strip mall. I hope they do well and move somewhere better. The service was fine; the clerk had friends in the store and was clearly waiting for us to make up our minds so she could go hang out outside with them, which was a little uncomfortable, but whatever. She was friendly enough. The cupcakes were fantastic. At $ 3.00 a piece plus tax they seemed a little steep, but 1) they’re big; and 2) they’re GOOD. I had chocolate cake with peanut butter icing and a little piece of peanut butter cup on top. My boyfriend had chocolate cake with mocha icing and an espresso bean on top. We both found the cake very moist, and dark and flavourful, not at all dry(cupcake kiss of death), and not overly sweet. The icing was a rich buttercream with just enough flavour — subtle, but without being so subtle you can hardly taste it(i’m lookin at YOU, cupcake royale). Lots of icing, too. We both scraped the crumbs off our wrappers when nobody was looking. I think this may be the best of the lot. Some of the other flavours sounded/looked SO good — I guess I’ll have to come back to try more, and maybe give their coffee a go.
