Fondé en 1955.

Slaters Meats was opened in the mid. 50’s by George Slater who moved his passion for meats from Vancouver to live the island life here in Victoria. Over the course the next 30 years George and the team at Slaters Meats built a reputation for excellent products and top quality service, values that we still hold today. In the mid. 80s a young apprentice by the name of Rick, who started with George as a teenager delivering on his bicycle, purchased the store and it became and family owned and operated until 2001 with the hiring of young Cameron Doyle who would go to learn the trade and eventually purchase the store with a another young fellow by the name of Geoff Martin. Cameron and Geoff are the current owners and operate the store to the same high standards that have been passed down from the original Slaters family.
