It’s all in the pastry… literally! Our pastry is golden and flaky, bite into it to discover delicious fillings such as Chunky Pepper Steak, Steak Cheese & Bacon and Chicken Mushroom & Leek. Have your pie Peaked with mashed potato, mushy green peas and gravy.

Historique

Fondé en 2013.

An Aussie girl who grew up surfing the waves of Newcastle, Australia went on trip to «the snow» and fell in love with snowboarding. Having not much snow in Australia, she packed her bags and headed north!

Arriving in Whistler, she was instantly in awe… why not stay a little longer? She knew she would miss her family and friends, but surprisingly didn’t realize how much she would miss… the Aussie Meat Pie!

A Canadian boy living in Whistler had gained the reputation of always being ‘First Up’ on a Powder day. Look for him in the lift line at 4:30am completely amped. He’s known to shred hard, but what they didn’t know, was this boy could bake!

It was at the Longhorn that Aussie Girl met Canadian Boy. Aussie Girl truly longed for an Aussie meat pie so Canadian Boy baked her one. It was love at first bite!

Hi, we are Kerri and Alex. We opened Peaked Pies so that every Aussie could come and get a taste of home and those who had never had a meat pie could fall in love themselves!

I find it interesting that there is a large amount of Aussies in Whistler, but I am grateful that they brought their meat pies with them. This place is legit.
I’m 2 weeks late to making this review… but this is the place to eat while you’re visiting Whistler. Their meat pies are REALLY good — meat is moist, sauce on point, and perfect buttery, flakey crust. I don’t even like meat loaf, but I love their pies because they’re so savory!
My family has tried the following:
— Traditional Aussie: Flavored ground meat in a pie, .
— Steak, Bacon, Cheese: With mozzarella cheese, what’s not to like?
— Chunky Steak and Mushroom: THE SAUCE. It has a really rich, meaty flavor.
— Butter Chicken: Actually pretty good! Not too spicy, just the right amount of kick… I love Indian food, so combined with their crust just makes it better.
— Ned Kelly: This is a breakfast pie… layered with bacon and ground meat while topped with an egg and cheese. I’d recommend this for a breakfast pie.
— Mushroom Leek Pie: Breakfast special at the time. This was just an egg pie with some cheese, mushrooms, and leeks… sadly I do not recommend since it was more of a quiche and nothing special. Come here for the meat pies.
All pies have the option of getting «peaked» with mashed potatoes, mashed peas, and gravy. It’s actually pretty neat because the scoop of mashed peas looks kinda like green tea ice cream. Don’t let the concept of mushed peas gross you out — it’s actually really good, and I’m glad to have discovered it’s tastiness.
I would say that one is enough of a serving, especially if you get it «peaked». The price is right; a lot of places are expensive in the Village, but this is one of the more affordable lunch/​dinner options. Currently they have Unilocal-​Check in offer where you can get a mini dessert pie when you buy a pie and get it «peaked» — be warned this doesn’t work for breakfast since they don’t do the «peak» upgrade until lunch.
Move over chicken pot pies… meat pies are where it’s at.

Aussie pies were a great favorite when I did my study abroad in Perth, Western Australia. Wow, peaked pies not only hit the spot but raised the bar!
I will never eat another pie without peaking it, and I’ll never miss visiting Peaked Pies when visiting Whistler. I recommend you don’t (miss it) either!
If you’re walking through the Village, it’s just in the block behind. You can easily walk or drive there. Also, it was very busy when we went but we were able to grab an outdoor table. Give it a minute and space will open up.

It was good and worth the visit. A little in a disappointed side because the place was a lot smaller than what I thought. Only 3– 2 seater tables and 3 seat bar kind. And, we visited late for dinner and they have already ran out of the yummy pies. Too bad. But, the food was good! The pies were delish! I order «The Hopper» which was ground Kangaroo meat and I reached my peak! Oh yes, grab for the peak (and make it a meal)! It’s all worth it! Just come early.

Good. God. These guys make a mean meat pie. I had the Pepper Steak one and it satisfyingly fried my mouth — tons of flavour. The crust is just the right combo of flakey and dense.
We really missed the last Australian Meat Pie place that used to be by the Royal Bank. This one was worth waiting for — it’s better. It’s also approved by my Aussie Sister-​in-​Law and my Bro (he’s Aussie by marriage) — they oughtta know!

…oh, you want more? FINE. I was planning to brunch at another spot nearby but the line was gross so I whipped out my trusty Unilocal app and found this place! My waistline won’t thank me, but my tummy sure did! It wasn’t too busy when I stopped in, so I was able to snag a table, which made the experience much more pleasant! The staff were super helpful and recommended some different pies.
I picked the steak, bacon, and cheese peaked, because if you’re in, go all in. The pie was ready as soon as I was done paying, and I sat down to gorge! The flavours work really well together, and I loved that the gravy helped make the mash more interesting — it was like all my favourite English foods brought together on one plate! I know this is Australian, but the whole dish screamed England to me. The pie was rich, salty, and delicious and I ate the whole thing. I had so much regret once I started hiking (SO. FULL), but DANG was it ever tasty!
I highly recommend their pies, but maybe share one if you’re not the hungriest you’ve ever been in your life ever!

Finally got to have my first Peaked Pie! Wonderful, friendly service. Staff kindly packaged our pies and ‘peaking’ ingredients separately to allow us to assemble in our condo later that night. We tried Steak and Mushroom, and Hopper. The Hopper (kangaroo!) stole the show by a country mile — highly recommended. The pastry was flaky, tender, supportive, and was not soggy even though we carried the pies around the village for a couple of hours. Peas and potatoes fabulous as was the gravy. My only complaint is that I wanted MORE GRAVY on the take-​out order. Next time I’ll order TWO gravies per pie ;)
Love this place. Definitely check it out — this place creates their food with talent and heart, and the quality shows. They also do breakfast pies, which I’m sure that we will be trying next time we visit Whistler. Thank you!

Very tasty pies. Reminds me of home (Australia) but I have not lived there for nearly 20years so I might not be the best judge. Good breakfast pies, good special latte and a breakfast pie for $ 10ish.
Other wise the 3 star rating is for the price of the regular menu, $ 9 for a pie come on I know it’s whistler but come on. But other wise a tasty pie.

Many of us can agree that pies — savory or sweet — resonate with us. I’m a huge pie fan, and the photos on Unilocal looked very promising so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
Boy, i’m so glad I swung by. Hands down, I had one of the best meat pies that I’ve had in years — the flaky crusted pies packed with juicy meat… so delicious! Just note that the chunky mashed potatoes and peas steak pie (that everyone raves about) is not served until 11:00 am. Also, seating is very limited so i dont recommended a large group unless it’s for takeout.
Sometimes, good eating really makes the trip worthwhile. Highly recommended!

We only had dessert here, the pies looked amazing and I wish I’d had lunch here though!
Vanilla raspberry custard slice– absolutely divine. Slightly difficult to cut without pastry flying everywhere, but a wonderful dessert.
Lamingtons: first time I had one, don’t understand the appeal!
Salted caramel tart: gorgeous little tart, more dulce de leche than salted caramel. Their pastry is perfectly crumbly.
Service was amazing, all the people very polite and friendly.
Will definitely try their pies when I go back– they were all gorgeous!

The pies are okay in my opinion. I bought two pies, the Kangaroo (where else would I go for this) and the Chicken and Leak. We put mash potatoes and peas on top of it with gravy. I was expecting flavor town to arrive in my mouth full steam ahead, but instead got a light walk to uhhhhhhhhhhhhville. Was it the mash and peas? Maybe. Was it the pie itself? Probably. Do I not understand Australian Pies? I guess that could be. Everything to me wasn’t in unison. If I had to do it over, I probably would skip on the mash and peas. They just don’t belong. The gravy being rich, maybe on the side. Kangaroo and Chicken Leak? Probably not. Chunky Pepper Steak, Traditional, Steak Bacon & Cheese, moreeeeeeeeeeeee then likely better choices.
Is it 159 reviews and 4.5÷5 star legit? The answer is no.

I saw this as a recommended place to go to on Unilocal and boy was I impressed.
«Authentic Aussie Pies» was what caught my eye. I mean, who doesn’t love a good meaty pie?
I got a Traditional Aussie pie (no peak) and my s.o. got the Hopper pie (has Kangaroo in it. Yes. I know. Kangaroo) (peaked with mashed potatoes and peas). Wow, did my mouth have a foodgasm? Uh yes. It was a great way to end a cold and snowy day on the mountains. Warm and delicious comfort food. The Traditional Aussie pie was filled with beef and it had the perfect saltiness to it. The Hopper pie as a peaked pie was really good too. Did not expect Kangaroo meat to be gammy.
If you check this place out and starving, I recommend getting your pie peaked. It’s worth it. :)
Price is worth it.
Con:
Small place, so if it’s busy then you probably won’t find a good place to sit and sitting outside isn’t really an option.

We wanted something quick for breakfast since we woke up late and had a lot of things planned for Vancouver that day. This eatery is a popular fast food place specializing in gourmet meat pies! We split the chunky pepper steak, chunky steak and mushroom, steak bacon and cheese, and the Hopper– which had kangaroo meat.
We «peaked» 3 of the meat pies for an extra $ 3.25, so those came with added toppings including mashed potatoes, mushy peas and gravy. They looked like sundaes when they were ready! It was hard to divide all the pies and everything ended up looking the same. I think the chunky pepper steak was the best– it was very peppery! The toppings were good, but heavy and very filling.
I couldn’t check-​in to get my free minington since I didn’t have wifi, but we got a mixed berry pie and cinnamon bun for the road. As soon as we got our food, this place got busy so we lucked out!

LOVED THESE PIES!!!
They were all awesome. The place is tiny, but I think it’s worth eating outside (even with –10 degrees) or waiting for a table to vacate. The service is so friendly (they are Aussies, of course they are friendly, right?) and the pies only take a few minutes to warm-​up, so you don’t have to wait long for your food.
Must visit if you are in whistler and looking for a nice lunch spot.

We wanted to try a new place for breakfast and I’m so glad we stopped here! The place technically starts serving breakfast at 8, but you can order your coffee before this. The place is pretty cozy with a few tables and fun Christmas decorations throughout. I really loved the man who served us. He was super friendly and warm.
I think they are most known for their peaked pies at lunch, but they still had 2 delicious pies to choose from for breakfast. We had the Rise and Shine, which was delicious! I believe it came with eggs, bacon, peppers, and some other goodies. It came out steaming hot. Our only regret was that we didn’t get 2!
In addition to the breakfast pie, we also had a day old cinnamon roll for 50% off and an Australian strawberry custard pastry. I really enjoyed the pastry. The cinnamon roll was a little hard, but to be expected since it was a day old. I finished my breakfast with a delicious mocha (you get a discount if you combine it with the breakfast pie). See the picture… the thing was absolutely decadent! Filled with whipped cream, chocolate straws, and marshmallows. So delicious and super affordable! Finally, if you check-​in on Unilocal,you get a free minington, which is basically a small pastry with coconut and chocolate.
I hope to try this place for lunch next time.

After seeing some Peaked Pies instagram photos, I was so eager to try their meat pie with awesome toppings. Leaving tired J alone, I ran into the store to instagram the meat pie!
Traditional Aussie Peaked Pie was amazingly good! Traditional Aussie ($ 6.75) is stuffed with grounded beef and caramelized onions, while Peaked ($ 3.25) is basically added toppings including mashed potatoes, mushy peas and thick gravy.
The pie was served steaming hot and the crust was extra flaky. Mashed potato and thick, rich gravy were perfect to go with the pie. I personally didn’t like the mushy peas but that’s just me. The portion is huge, so it might be more ideal for one meal, or to share with someone else.
Final word: I wasn’t lonely while eating alone.

This shops location is a bit hidden behind away from the more dominant shop area. But when you find it. You probably won’t forget it.
Delicious and unique way of serving mashed potatoes and peas on top of a pie that looked like ice cream. I’m usually not much of a gravy person but when eating this dish it was a must.
Service is always awesome when they come with a smile. The shop is small modern and clean and has space for seating and dinning. Small groups mostly. There is space outside for eating as well.

Oh man. Peaked Pies for the win!
Checked out Unilocal to see where to eat on our mini trip up to Whistler. Peaked was the place of choice.
Aussie meat pies. Aussie accents. Fillings that you could only dream of. I got the Steak, Bacon and Cheese, and the husband got Turkey, Cranberry with Stuffing. Then of course, we «peaked» it. Peaking it means you get a scoop of mashed potatoes (they were smooth and creamy) a scoop of mashed peas (which were fresh and tasty) and gravy. All on top. This lunch is what dreams are made of! Absolutely incredible food. I couldn’t even finish all mine! Husband also had a cinnamon bun after his peaked pie. It was super warm, and what a cinnamon bun should be. Note: You get a free dessert when you check in with Unilocal!Go there. It’s a must!

Go to Peaked Pies if you’re looking for good comfort food! There’s not much nutritional value to potatoes, gravy, and a shepards pie… but combined, with a scoop of mushed peas. you’d be surprised how delicious it tastes! Don’t forget the lamingtons!!!
You go Australia! haha definitely worth the calories.
The restaurant itself is quite small, the tables and chairs are limited but it’s worth giving it a go.

I was excited to try Peaked Pies! I love Pot Pies and this sounded like an Australian version of such!
My friend David and I came in here for dinner one evening. We each ordered two pies apiece. I ordered the Aussie and The Hopper (so named because it contains Kangaroo meat!)
You can opt to have your pies «peaked» — meaning they are topped with a scoop of mashed potatoes, mashed peas, and a delicious gravy. I opted to have one of the two pies peaked. David ordered The Hopper and the Chicken and mushroom and got one of them peaked as well — and ordered a Ginger Beer.
I loved the Peaked Pies. I am on a low carb diet, so I avoided most of the crust — but I did eat some of it since I was on vacation. And the mashed potatoes are not a low carb option — I had to try it once! When I got to The Hopper — I basically mined the pie for the contents and left the crust.
Both were delicious! I did add some black pepper to both of them (I love Black Pepper) and asked for hot sauce as well — but they don’t carry hot sauce — must be an Australian thing!
Highly recommended!
