If you are craving Indian food and want a little bit of everything this is your place for a choice filled buffet. I was here for the lunch buffet on week day. The food was good but not the best Indian food I’ve had. You have to pay extra for naan which is fine but by the time mine arrived I had already finished off a plate of food and the naan was no longer warm. As is always a challenge with buffet I found the food not warm enough for my liking. I don’t think for the price I would return on my own accord but if a bunch of friends insisted on going I wouldn’t not join them.

I have lunch here every time I am in town. Wonderful service. Great food. Love the atmosphere. We walk here from the arena after loading gear in for shows. Looking forward to next time.

Decent Indian food, overpriced buffet Would be 5 stars if price matched food quality

Can’t say enough about this place… My only negative would be their hours and it’s on the pricier side for an Indian Buffet. It’s not over the top and well worth it but if you order Naan with the buffet you’re looking at about $ 27 per person. That being said I still go there if I can, every time I’m in town. I love Indian buffets and have been to my share across Canada and this for sure is one of the best.

The food at the buffet was quite tasty. For 2 the buffet is 45.00. Service friendly and the waiter offered to take a picture of my wife and I as we wanted to take a pic of the buffet presentation which I found unique. The extra 3.50 for naan bread I thought was something that could be comped. I would return as I believe that although more pricy than most east India restaurants, the value is there. Really enjoyed the curry beef and lamb. The desserts are also splendid.

This was the best Indian Buffet we have ever had with a wide variety of dishes, the majority of which were very good. The fish was outstanding, and the scallops were also delicious. Several varieties of veggie dishes and chicken dishes along with salad and dessert bars. The desserts were just ok but a nice variety.

Good place. Really nice for an weekend or evening Dinner. Nice ambience as well. Only –ve was that the pakoda were soaked in oil so one can skip that. Naan is soft and fresh. The deserts are abundant and plenty. Highly recommend this place

Maybe one of the best Indian buffets I’ve ever had. Excellent veg dishes. Great selection of pickles. Fish pakora available as well as samosas and veggie pakoras in the appetizers. Fantastic lamb curry and lamb spinach curry the night we were there. I agree with the other reviewer about the faux crab dish. Perhaps that was the main disappointment along with charging extra for naan without letting us know(but the naan was alright). I’d return next time I’m in Winnipeg.

I’m still stuffed some 12 hours later, and as Martha Stewart says, «and that’s a good thing». An excellent and diverse dining outing to celebrate a special birthday. All in all a great choice. We were seated promptly and right away our waiter asked if this was a special occasion. Nice touch. He was very efficient throughout the evening always clearing away dirty plates and seeing if we needed anything. Only negative was that near the end of our meal it was like he was cleaning up to close the restaurant. A delicate balance between removing the dirty dishes and having the customer feeling there is no rush to leave. Whenever we asked for something, it was promptly delivered. The selection on the buffet was very good. The pickle bar was awesome with an excellent selection of ‘things’ to try and tantalize the taste buds. My personal problem is that I’ll get something I love and trying to remember which one it was. A negative comment on the diverse selection is that the signage for each dish could have been a little clearer. Often the name plates were hidden behind the chaffing dishes and they either need a polish or to be replaced(faded); however small thing in the big picture. There were so many wonderful dishes(and yes I tried them all it seems!) I’ll only mention a few of the standouts. First off, their papadum was amazing. Thin, crispy and exploding with flavour. I loved the curry selection, with chicken and the lamb being my favourites. I think it was the Murg Bahar, a rich tasty chicken dish once again exploding with flavour. The Navratan was a wonderful side. The Samosas, once they finally replenished the serving dish, were light and crispy but needed some of their excellent curry sauces(full of taste and not too over-powering) to create a real flavour profile. The dessert selection was okay. I liked the little dishes with individual scoops of ice cream and everyone loved the Gulab Jamuns(small sponge cakes with a wonderful sauce). And of course I have to mention the fun little ice cream bowl with candle and sparkler for the birthday person. Nicely done There were a few lows. First off, charging extra for nan bread in an Indian restaurant is just wrong. No other way to say it. Also, it was only afterwards did I learn there are different flavours offered. That was a miss by the waiter. The butter chicken was so-so. I look at the menu and there is a huge selection of shrimp dishes; however all we got on the buffet was a faux crab curry dish. It was tasty but it would have been nice to have some shrimp dishes. So overall a very good experience. Lots of positives, a few drawbacks but it would be worth a return visit on a night when they actually offer some shrimp dishes on the buffet.

Thinking about my experience at this restaurant actually makes me angry. Based on what happened here some 16 years ago, I have never been back. Still, I will try to remain objective. Positives: décor is very impressive. Food is pretty good. Negatives: Service. I am going to say something which may be controversial, but is a widely held belief amongst much of the East Indian community and is directly connected to my experience. I used to come here as a teenager with my parents on occasion. BTW, I am East Indian — in the case of this review, this matters. The service was fine, nothing that seemed to jump out at me as I was not the one footing the bill, my parents were. I then got married, came here on three different occasions. I was never given great service — i.e. a warm visit at the table to check if we were alright or lots of an effort to converse or joke or anything. Instead, I would see that happen by the owners with the non-Indian clientele(specifically white). My wife and I? Never once during our three visits was a menu presented to us, instead, the first two times, we waited until a server asked if we wanted a menu and the third time I had to get up on my own to get a pair of menus for us. I firmly believe that if we had been non-Indians, that this would not have happened. 16 years later and I still have not forgotten this. Mind you, I think that if we had been part of the 1% crowd and East Indian, we would have had some social contact with the owners and therefore not have suffered the same indignities. Unfortunately, we were just middle class Indians, consequently, good enough to ignore, apparently!

We were there here for dinner buffet. I am an Indian-American living in the states. This place is hands down better than almost all Indian buffets I have been to before. Wide variety of veg and non-veg dishes, and great authentic flavors. It was a pleasant surprise to discover this place after a long tiring day of sight-seeing. This place is definitely worth the $ 20 price tag.

I went yesterday, they have a VERYVERY good food, excellent service and free WIFI. It’s now my favorite Indian restaurant. In a busy time it’s loud because it’s small restaurant but you can just ask for a quiet area if it’s available. They are very helpful.

Amazing food and great service at the table. The buffet selection has a wide variety and they are quick to seat you if you are looking to chow down quickly. The atmosphere is great as well, however if you’re looking to pay quickly and get out and back to the office over the lunch period, you’ll end up spending about half your time there in line waiting to pay. The butter chicken and tika masala are the best in town. Would definitely return, worth the checkout wait any day.

To start, I really hate the interior and the design. Tables are close together. My friend and I were seated right next to another table(when the place was nearly empty) and the guy was super loud. Not blaming him but seriously ruins your dinner conversation when the table next to you is less than a foot away. Second, service was weird. Like awkward. Like come to your table every 2 minutes to see if you’re okay but nothing has changed lol. Just a pet peeve. Food selection is very good(lots of pickles which is htf in winnipeg) but the quality is not amazing. The dishes I had were a-ok but I’ve had better(or made better). We also had to wait a long time for our bills and nobody was at the front to take our payment. Overall, for the price we paid for dinner, one drink and naan, I will not return.

We found this place on Unilocal for our last night in Winnipeg. The hotel made reservations for us early and got there to find the buffet laid out. It was a nice selection of all types of curry, meat dishes, rice, and also dessert. Nan is extra and we decided to stick with regular rather than with garlic, etc. flavoring. I was stuffed and had room for only some Indian ice cream. The buffet was for $ 23CN which was reasonable considering all the variety. The waiter with water was very attentive. Location is decent but everything was closed on Sunday night. Overall, a pleasant experience and would come here again.

Came here a couple of times. Once last year and once two years ago. It’s located right behind the Delta hotel(and same building as our Winnipeg office). This place is like a mini Tandoori Flame, but better quality. Huge selection and food was fresh. It’s like one big long aisle and you need to take at least 3 trips up to try all the hot food. Definitely try this place out if you are ever in Winnipeg.

Excellent Indian food in Winnipeg, and with different flavors from what you usually experience in the San Jose bay area. The manager is a gem — very friendly and makes sure guests are served well. I was quite worried when a friend asked if we could go for Indian food. We went to a place 5 year ago that was just awful. East India Company can put that concern to rest. The buffet assortment is excellent. The butter naan is very greasy — get the garlic naan instead. Otherwise, everything was excellent
