I joined Unilocal primarily because no one has reviewed this restaurant. It is really a unique place to eat. I am not affiliated nor can I confirm this history. The story goes something like this: It was opened many years ago by a Greek immigrant who brought over many treasures to decorate his restaurant. Some time later he sold out the place to one of his long time workers. She was the most outgoing lovely Vietnamese lady. She would come out of the kitchen every 20 min or so and walk around the restaurant greeting all of the patrons. I would often see her hugging them. It was like a show, and I truly loved watching her interact with her customers. My fondest memory of her was what she would say when I brought in someone who had never been to the restaurant. She would say«Try the chicken pita! You no like, you no pay!» About five or so years ago the current owners took over. I think they are husband and wife. He is very grumpy and I have actually walked out because he can be incredibly rude. He does work the place himself, so you need to cut him a little slack, but again let me say that he can be rude and slow. She is an angel who really cooks with love. You have to wonder how they hooked up. When the current owners took over they added Jamaican items to the menu. I have tried the beef roti and it is the best I have ever had. Really good. The rest of the menu is exactly the same as it has been the last 20 years or so that I have been eating here. Good pizza, and really good Greek especially the chicken Pita. Remember you no like, you no pay. I very much doubt that the grumpy guy who owns the place now would let you off without paying… My other problem with the place is all of the handwritten signs all over. There was even one in the men’s washroom stating not to pee on the floor(which is exactly what the bastard who used the washroom before me did). Bad service, way out old décor, disgusting washrooms… Why did I give it five stars? A unique place to eat with really great food for a really reasonable price!
