So a little background, my Mom and I used to come for the Monday night all you can eat spaghetti quite frequently when I used to live in Winnipeg almost a decade ago. It wasn’t the best pasta you’ll ever have, but the breadsticks were pretty fantastic. Back in town for a visit, we figured we’d take a trip down memory lane. Aaaaand it would appear that Pizza Place is the one thing that changed in Winnipeg in the decade I’ve been away. The lovely, amazing breadsticks are no longer baked, but fried. Tasty but greasy! And the spaghetti is now serve yourself, which they didn’t advise you of, so we sat for awhile waiting for our food. The noodles were hard to get out of the bucket they were being stored in, as anyone who cooks will know, pasta sticks together easily. I did give them an extra star as I don’t eat meat and they happily gave me a big bowl of marinara sauce so I could still do the all you can eat meal.

I came back here recently(not by choice) and ordered the pepperoni and mushroom pizza. You know how they say«there’s no such thing as bad pizza» — well there is and that would be at Pizza Place. Agh, how can you go wrong with such simple ingredients as cheese, mushrooms, sauce and pepperoni? The pepperoni tasted weird, I wouldn’t go so far to say it was«off» but I didn’t like it and picked it off the pizza. So that left me essentially with a very greasy vegetarian pizza. I had one slice and that was it for me. No more. I didn’t think my previous pizza experience here was amazing but it wasn’t horrible but this time, I have to say that I won’t be returning for any future dining experiences!
