Best pancakes I have ever had, we were visiting winnipeg for 4 days and had breakfast here twice just because of the quality of pancakes. The service was a little slow the second time around but the quality of food made up for it. Highly recommend this place to everyone.

I get the bad reviews here. Walked by when they were super-busy and it looks like its a disaster. They have no real process so it likely falls apart quickly. Fortunately, we were always there before things get busy as our hotel was just about right next door. We ate here 3 days in a row, one time as the very first customers. Meals were very generous portions and quite tasty. None of them were«the best you ever had» but the combination of the convenience and the quality had us coming back. The service was a bit of a mystery. When the volume is low, you almost have too many people trying to serve you, with people asking if you want more coffee in between each sip. As it gets busy, their random service process falls apart a bit. So, if you’re nearby, go early.

My girlfriend and I went to The Pancake House before going on a tour of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. I thought the food was O.K. and the device was friendly. It did not take too long to get our food and we were both satiated. A decent dining experience for the forks.

Never coming back here. Horrible service Waited OVER45 minutes for Cold pancakes(rubber) Hashbrown were cold and dark purple. Ew Sausages were kinda ok thanks to ketchup Eggs were cooked so long they were dry Toast was cold. Server didn’t offer refills Over 45 minutes for this? Really The only nice girl was the one who takes down your name to sit you. Don’t come here the food sucks and management should get a kick in the ass. Go to the one by polo park.

Really quite a nice breakfast in a nice area of Winnipeg. I had the Mexican omelette and which was quite nice. One of my co-diners had a very large apple pancake that he said was delicious. My girlfriend had crepes which she said were good but were more like thin pancakes as they were a bit on the fluffy side and not rolled. The service was excellent which is why this is a four star and not a three star review.

Perhaps one my worst restaurant experiences ever. The service was simply despicable with no silverware despite several requests. Presentation was terrible with serving staff totally ignoring requests for additional condiments. Every adult meal excepting German pancakes had no flavor and bread products were old. The potato pancakes were completely inedible as deep fried sold chunks. Children dishes were quite good and presented very nicely. The restaurant failed on numerous fronts and not an establishment I would recommend to anyone.

Cannot recommend this place enough! My giant German pancake was so good it almost made me forget that I’m a child born out of infidelity!

It was Multiculturalism Day yesterday and there were several performers etc down at The Forks. Despite the crazy weather(complete with thunderstorms and high winds) my hubby, son and I went down and decided to sit on the EMPTY patio where we started off with a drink order. I asked for a ceasar and the lady looked at me like I was an alien and after two minutes of silence she tells me they don’t have such a thing. So we asked for a cooler and a beer… more ‘deer in headlights’ look and silence then she tells us she has to go ask someone else… our waiter. Next lady(I assume our waitress) comes out and takes our drink order and leaves… nothing comes. Next guy comes out and asks us for our order and we tell him we’ve already ordered and he disappears… fourth guy comes out and asks us what we are going to eat… we kindly tell him we’ve ordered our drinks three people ago and we will enjoy the performers and order food after… he looks at us for at least a minute, again like we are aliens and tells us we can’t have any type of drink until we order food, those are the rules! I kindly remind him, we are 36 year old adults and we’d like our drinks before we order our food… he repeats the rules! We left. What a very illogical, and idiotic way to treat customers… no wonder the place was empty! We won’t be going back EVER! And honestly, if you’re going to work with the public, most of whom are French and English here in Winnipeg… you might wanna learn one of those two languages.

Seemed to be neglected in the corner of the restaurant. Had to ask several times to get coffee refilled before it happened. Poor service overall.

Needed to refuel the family before a long afternoon of shopping at the Forks, and this was the perfect stop. They have gluten free options for pancakes and waffles, so I couldn’t resist digging into one their big bad boys — fabulous! Light and crispy, one of the best gluten free waffles I have ever had. My wife ordered the giant apple pancake, which was delicious(kind of like an entire apple pie, but on a pancake — huge but fabulous!). The kids somehow managed to finish their huge waffles and crepes, don’t ask me how, with all the fruit toppings, whip cream and chocolate — it only took 5 or 6 hours to burn off the sugar high. Prices are reasonable for the size and quality of the food, particularly from a gluten free perspective where you usually pay a lot more for a lot less — not here! Highly recommended.

Perfect for the classic breakfast, service is decent and doesn’t get too crowded weekday mornings.

wish i had read the reviews before going there to eat last night. the food was terrile it took forever and it wasnt that busy. the service was ok, but we felt rushed. we ordered breakfasts and got overcooked rbbery eggs soggy hashbrowns late pancakes and the wrong toast. the only bonus was my bf comlained directly to the cook and we ended up only paying for the drinks. imo the enttire bill should have been free. even though the cook was just some kid who didnt care about his job u can still put a little effort people area paying for that food and expecting to be able to eat it. the only reason we got the food taken off was because the server got a kick out of us bitching at the cook and not her. this restaurant needs a kitchen staff overhaul, maybe someone who has a work ethic and would appreciate the job and even enjoy it.

This Pancake House has notoriously bad service and terrible quality of food. Often very greasy and burned. I have known people who worked there and the attitude is very negative. Often times, walking by you can hear staff bickering. It’s really the only typical family breakfast greasy spoon at the Forks, but if I could make a reccomendation: Park your car, take the gorgeous short walk to the Salisbury House on the bridge and enjoy better selection, quality and service. This Pancake House will shut down before it ever gets better. Whoever is owning and running this restaurant should be ashamed of themselves.

Went here twice, the second time was with another couple who liked to go here every Sunday(they go else where now). The first time was more for lunch, and it was ok, and that sandwich is the only reason they are getting a second star. The breakfast was bad, the hash-browns were wreaked on top of being greasy, The coffee was bad. I could go on, but lets leave it at we will not darken there door step again.
