Pizza is… a religion for me. Seriously, I’ve eaten pizza in a church. Now now, that’s not as bad as it sounds, it was in John’s Pizza in New York, which is in fact in a disused church, so I was allowed. But I do love pizza. Unfortunately, it’s one of those foods that is so simple that it is often not done with the care and attention to detail it requires and deserves. Especially not in Denmark. In New York, you can find great(like, great!) pizza. In Iceland(believe it or not), you can find great pizza. And of course in Italy you can find great pizza(duh!). But for too long in Denmark, great pizza has been hard to find. Most pizza places were to-go only, and mostly focused on making cheap grub for people who didn’t really care much. Classic hangover food. There were a few pizza places who took the thing seriously, and as a result, made pizza worth invading a small country for, but you really needed to know where to look. And most of them weren’t very inviting for eating in. That’s changing, thankfully, with Mother in Kødbyen, Bæst on Nørrebro, and this one, BRØL, in Indre By. They specialise in pizza and beer, and more power to them for it! The pizza I had was a buffalo mozzarella one, with only tomato sauce, the mozzarella, a bit of basil and some cherry tomatoes. On a thin, crisp, slightly burnt crust. Oh sweet gods of pizza and pasta, it doesn’t get any better than that. Washed down with a glass of beer, and all is right in the world.

Excellent selection of Belgian-style ales from a rotating set of local microbreweries. Friendly staff. Good prices: 65DKK for a half liter, 40DKK for a third.

My friend and I each had a delicious potato and leek soup with a sharing platter of delicious bread, cold meats, olives and goats cheese. Their hot chocolate is one of the best I have ever had, and I have had a lot! Double espresso was good too. I didn’t have one of their pizza’s(they seem to be known for them) but they did look delicious. Service was friendly and patient of our lack of Danish.

Excellent beer selection and helpful server who spoke perfect English(duh, everyone in Denmark does, those wonderfully lovely beautiful people). Man and I ordered snack plate and shared a delicious Salami and mushroom pizza. We were there on a Wednesday night at an odd time(after 8:30) and expected it to be busier than it was. There were several tables available. The space has a strange atmosphere — like an open café during the day and a weird clubby bar vibe at night? It’s hard to explain, but, we enjoyed ourselves and the pizza was super tasty. The snack plate could use more cheese — it included a small dollop of a chèvre that wasn’t really enough to balance the ham and salami also included.

5 star pizza!!! It may be 135 dkk but it is for me 100% worth it. The dough is thin, the tomato sauce is from heaven and the ingredients are fresh and in absolute balance! Wow!!! I had the svamp pizza which was just incredible. I get so excited when I have eaten a good meal, I just become like a kid who got a new toy! And this was one of those situations. The pizza is not too large, but it is enough for one person. The mushrooms where from heaven and really the tomato sauce must have a secret ingredient which makes you not wanna stop. Apart from the amazing pizza there was also a lot of different kinda of beers. I had the foxy brown which I really liked. The service was very good, friendly and fast. The interior was quite plane. Not too fancy, very welcoming, not as other hotel restaurants that you feel it’s almost like invading. I definitely recommend it to people who want to have a different pizza and are ok with paying 135dkk. I did and don’t regret it!
