This café is located inside of the museum, and it’s a great place to relax and warm up from the cold. The inside is very spacious and warm, and the atmosphere is very casual. You basically just order at the counter and find yourself a table. The people are very nice, and the food and drinks are served incredibly quickly(less than 5 minutes after ordering). We ordered one dish and 2 drinks, and the bill came out to about $ 25. Not incredibly cheap but definitely not expensive either. For coffee, I got the Café au Lait. The cup it comes in is pretty small. It tasted a little like a cappuccino; it was very light and not bitter at all. A good drink to warm your body. For food, I got the Roast Beef. It’s served with onions, mayonnaise, crisps(I think onion), and pickles, all on top of a slice of rye bread. It comes with quite a lot of meat, which is tender and very flavorful. The onions are caramelized perfectly, and the mayonnaise is light and creamy. The bread actually tastes really good, giving a nice crunch. The pickles are nice and sweet. The dish is very reasonably portioned and tastes amazing. It’s also not too heavy; I felt pretty good after eating it. While the café isn’t an extraordinary culinary experience, it’s a great place to rest and have a small meal/snack whether you’re going to/from the guard exchange or you’re visiting the Little Mermaid.

Cute small café right inside the museum entrance serving up simple and delicious Danish fare. I had the salmon tartare which comes on top of a slice of rye topped with good pickled radishes. I wouldn’t go out of the way to eat here but it’s a great stop for after you visit the museum or if you are in the area. Also being a design museum, the café is outfitted with the good stuff, from the chairs to the utensils.

Great dinner menu on Wednesday evenings — 3 courses for kr200 from a wide range of culinary directions. Great desserts and cake, good espresso machine for great coffee. Since it is in the design museum, décor is fine Scandi design.
