We spent a day at torvehallerne, exploring almost every stall and trying bites of food along the way. We tried a few different items at Tapa Del Toro and we were really pleased. We started with two glasses of cava — a nice traditional Spanish sparkling wine that wasn’t too dry or sweet. We ordered a few tapas — one with cheese, one with tomatoes, one with anchovies — a plate of manchego cheese, served with a drizzle of honey and olives — and lastly an order of fried calamari. All the tapas were freshly made, good quality ingredients and served by funny and attentive tapas guys. We sat outside around a big barrel and sipped our cava while eating the bites of yummy food. It was fun for a stop and quick bite. I wouldn’t go out of my way for it, but if going through torvehallerne again I would probably stop. It was great but not amazing.

Brilliant! Positively brilliant! The concept here i so simple you can’t believe it is not more common: You sit at the counter. You point to the tapa/bruschetta you want, they put it on a plate for you and stuff the receipt in a glass in front of you. You eat. Then repeat until full. Then pay. The price range is about 1,5 — 3,5 Euros per tapa. Not a bad deal at all. They also have fried pimentos, calamares and gambas for those thus inclined. I may want to try a hot plate next time, but those little tapas are just soooo tempting for a snack while on the go.

Everything about this place is a great experience. Sitting at the small counter you point at anything/everything you want, and a large and very gruff spanish man that would not look out of place in a mechanic shop hands like you these beautiful and delicious little snacks. It’s a perfect place to stop for a cold beer and unique Danish tapas.

I stumbled across this place in Torvehallen, which every person visiting the city should go to. It’s Copenhagen’s great indoor farmers market right in the center. Anyway, the only downside to Tapa del Toro is how small this place is because it’s so crowded. From first glance it looks like it could be a bruschetta bar because they have a great selection of all these little cold tapas on little pieces of bread with an assortment of meats, cheese, and fish! But they also have a great warm offering if you want to upgrade the experience. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. If you like tapas, and want to try something with a Nordic flair, I would give this place a try!

It’s about time they blended spanish and danish cuisine to one. The concept of smorrebrod meets tapas = Tapa del toro. I had the laks and grilled veggies tapas, both were quite flavorful. It’s easy to order a few since they’re aren’t quite filling. But if you’re looking for a hearty meal, I’d go elsewhere. Otherwise this place makes for a good snack.

In many ways very nice(and Torvehallerne is itself a delight). We had a well-chilled white wine together with two dishes — the calamares and the gambas,(both piping hot and very tasty). We didn’t try the cold tapas offerings. They were all bread-based(a bit like smørrebrød as the first review noted) and, inevitably, they may not be all that appetizing after they have been left out for a while. We also had some hygiene concerns as we watched one of the servers removing the cold tapas with bare fingers in-between handling cash.
