The Spoon Company won me over when I tried their Moroccan lamb stew at Roskilde and I’ve since returned to their Larsbjornsstræde location for more. Black chickpeas, tender meat chunks, and fennel in a warm, spiced tomato soup… mmm… Visit The Spoon Company if you want ethnic, organic fare that is quick and tasty. If you miss the convenience of Please but also the variety and comfort of Soupanatural(rest in peace), then The Spoon Company is a good addition to Pissereden. The menu contains everything that can be eaten with a spoon, so this includes: bygotto(risotto made from barley), Thai coconut soup, dahl, Moroccan lamb stew, grød, and some seasonal choices(Danish koldskål). If you’re tired of sandwiches and little lunch platters then the cozy ‘one bowl’ concept is really nice, especially for takeaway, and it doesn’t take much time at all to get your food. If you want to sit down, they re-did the interior of the space, so it looks much better than when it was Please. It’s a little on the pricier side for lunchtime(65 – 90DKK for the mains) but they do have a lunch special for 65DKK every day — spoiler alert: it is often the bygotto. But — they have the cheapest iced coffee around. You can’t beat 25DKK, so definitely stop here in the summertime for your iskaffe fix.
