Wonderful stop for a late breakfast in the pouring rain of Barcelona. Friendly service, delicious tortilla española with spinach, pan con tomate, real chamomile tea in a real bag and café con leche. The pan con tomate was made fresh in front of our eyes with the bread and beautiful tomatoes freshly sliced, olive oil drizzled and salted. And it was delicious! When we paid he informed us the pan con tomate was his treat. Does it get any better than that?!

A little hole-in-the wall that seems to be wildly popular, Bagauda offers some excellent tapas options and cheap-yet-delicious wine. In this area of Barcelona you’re overwhelmed by the variety and scope of tapas/wine bars, from local haunts to very touristy spots. Bagauda is somewhere in the middle, with an intimate restaurant space and English menus. If you can find a seat in the frequently crowded space, you’ll find homemade tapas and the least expensive red Spanish wine I saw in Barcelona(2 – 3 euros and it’s pretty darn good). Those tapas are also amazing, with house made with fresh ingredients and reasonable prices. The service is also exceptional — my girlfriend and I walked in 15 minutes before closing and allowed to stay another ten minutes after closure without any protest(they even offered to make us more). We had a wonderful time in Barcelona, in no small part because of wonderful eateries like Bagauda. If you want a personal intimate experience a little away from the tourist crowd(but still in English), Bagauda will more than satisfy.

This little bar had some good wine. The Tapas were nothing special. There are better places nearby.

Love this little tapas place. I think it’s Basque tapas, but I don’t really know the difference. I just know I never tried anything there that I didn’t really like and I wasn’t playing out safe. Great tapas, good wine, very good service. Near plaza del Pi

Enfiiiin!

Tiny place with delicious food and very friendly service. The map is useless, you will never find it if you follow this map. We will be back! Open on sundays and very multilingual.

4 tapas for 12 €. Good quality, open on Sundays. Convenient to the H10 Racó del Pi hotel. Calamari, mozzarella, croquettes, good wine, locals present. A good find since most places are closed on Sunday. They are small and should really make better use of Unilocal, like posting their hours and providing more info. First search never turned them up and they are right next to our hotel. Vegetarian tapas too!

Good tapas bar. I had the local cheese board and a glass or Wine. They were not accepting credit cards when I was there so I had to run out for cash. The service was good and Polite. It is in a tourist neighbourhood but it is not too touristy which is nice. Prices are about average for Barcelona. € 8 for the cheese plate and & € 3 or € 4 for a glass of wine.

Wonderful little non-touristy tapas bar. We went for breakfast and had a wonderful cake. Give these guys your money and not the giant overpriced tourist traps on Las Ramblas.

On my last night in Barcelona, my boyfriend and I decided to try Bagauda, recently opened by the same owners that founded Barcelona Reykjavik. We ordered 3 croquettes — cheese, ham, and onion/orange(because they ran out of mushroom). The onion/orange was surprisingly delicious, and I would suggest requesting it as an off-menu item. The tempura Icelandic bacalao was really, really delicious. The cod is salted for preservation, but re-hydrated prior to preparation(I believe). The end product tastes fresh, tender, and not too salty. High recommended. We also got a small order of ham — it was the most delicious ham I had in Barcelona, and I ate ham every meal the 2 days I was there. It was a lot less salty(a +) than the other ham I had — in fact, it was almost sweet. To finish off the meal, we ordered Gretel cake, which was made of ground almonds and poppy seeds. I’m a huge fan of sweet things and I can honestly say that this is in the top 5 slices of cakes I’ve ever eaten. It’s almost better than the 16-layer crêpe cake from Lady M in New York City. I highly, highly recommend getting this cake. I ordered a Brioche as a last desert item, and as all the bread items are from Barcelona Reyjavik, it was amazing as expected! I expected to eat half and save the rest for later, but I downed the whole thing without thinking twice. The service at Bagauda was great! They even offered us two free tapas. If you need more information on the food at Bagauda, read this article(the original reason for why we frequented the restaurant):
