Authentic Indonesian food. Protip: Order the mixed starters, it’s for 2 but allows you to taste different dishes in one go. Had the lamb brochette it’s was quite good, also if you like spicy as for the sambal sauce. Dessert weren’t really fantastic but overall a really nice experience. Dinner for 2, 40 euros per person.

We’re going to preface this with: I’m from San Francisco, and I’ve been to Indonesia. Apply the appropriate amount of pretension you want, but I’m telling you, the food here is pretty darn good. It’s hard to find solid Asian cuisine of any kind in Europe; this is fairly authentic. The lunch menu del dia is 12 euros, and is a good value. At night, I find it to be one of the better value options for a non-tapas dinner; you can get nasi goreng with shrimp or a nice chicken curry for about 10 – 13 euros, and you will be full. Their fried tofu is actually quite tasty; their mango salad is awesome, and the quality of the food overall is good. The staff is also quite attentive, which, if you’ve been in Barcelona for a while, you’ll find to be refreshing.

I searched for Thai and found Indonesian. And only a couple blocks from where we were standing. Awesome. We went in for a quick lunch and found the food to be poor. Greasy(oil not hot enough?), fried, and generally lacking in flavor. They say Indonesian, but it was more like American bad Chinese food from the 70s. The staff was nice, friendly, easy. I had some greasy noodles, my wife had a chicken dish that was breaded and fried and drenched in a sweet sauce. I’m not sure what people have been eating there to review it positively, but if you’re looking for Indonesian food this isn’t it. And if you’re looking for tasty food, this isn’t it. And for reviewers that discuss Thai food, Betawi is a people and language from Indonesia, not Thailand — and nothing we ate resembled Thai or Indonesian food. There is MUCH better Thai in Barcelona.

Awesome Indonesian restaurant to go for lunch with colleagues. Service is fast and effective, food is great, location also and prices low. What else do you want?

I go to this place for one thing. Of course I eat other things off the menu, too! But my favorite thing here is the Sagu. It’s a dessert of tapioca balls swimming in coconut milk. I know it’s a rather simple dish, but it’s just so damn good! I could eat an entire gallon of the stuff and probably not get tired of it. The service is great, the food is good, but a little pricey. I go for special occasions and when I’m feeling romantic. Definitely worth a go… and don’t forget to try the Sagu!
