If, like me, you adore… no, you live for this brand of shoe, then there can be little more of a holy trip to Mecca than to buy a pair of Campers in Spain. A decade and change ago I fell into my cult following of this brand while walking off my jet lag in Barcelona. That was when Campers were not widely available beyond Spain and you could turn heads with their quirky cool designs. Very few brands wear as well as Campers! This particular store, while not situated in the founding environs of Majorca, comes pretty close to a religious experience. The entire season’s line for both men and women is well stocked and ready and waiting for you. The staff here are wonderful! They have kept me shod and filled my shopping lists all while being charming.

This review is for the Camper store on Placeta de Montcada. I’ve been a Camper fan for quite some time and am no stranger to the stylish, fun, and extra comfortable shoes. The five stars are really for the service I received by a lovely, funny, and engaging sales lady. Another perfect example that service with warm smiles and fun, easy banter is the way to go. Hasta luego!

Since Spain is the birth place of my favourite brand of shoes I figured I really couldn’t visit the country without visiting a Camper store… and I’m pleased to say Barcelona’s store was lovely. Although maybe not quite as large as the one in San Francisco, the folks working there were great. We tried broken Spanish for a bit — but they were pleased to attempt practicing their English with me too. I tried on 2 pairs of boots, which I then tried on about 10 times… and all the while both people working just smiled and kept encouraging me to keep trying them until I was happy with my decision. So — for anyone with a taste for awesomely neat shoes, and heading to Barcelona, definitely make a point of stopping by this store. So worth it!

One of a few camper stores in Barcelona, this sits along the grand street that is Passeig De Gracia. Aside from some fantastic modernist architecture this street is full of high end fashion stores. This smaller camper store is excellent. Me and missus both love camper shoes(although it’s usually ebay where we trawl for them) and a good pair lasts me a couple of years(after which I’ll just replace with a new(or newish if via ebay) pair — no more panic over shoe shopping for me. Camper are a Spanish company(formed in Mallorca) and as such you’ll see many of the newer ranges here at better prices than back home. Not only that, you’ll find a few that will never make it over to our shores. This store is right next to the Passeig De Gracia stop so easy to reach by metro. Most of(if not all) these Camper stores are designed by top Spanish designers and they admittedly look great inside. Further on in the city Camper have opened a Hotelhopefully the missus won’t find out about that one and have me explain why we couldn’t book in there!
