Unfortunately this is just one more Brazilian snack place selling terrible food abroad at extortion prices in touristic zones. I was unfortunate enough to be drawn by the thought of getting a treat to my husband, who has lived in Brasil and misses his ‘esfihas’ now and again. So, I walked into this snack place today and got a couple of… not sure how to call it really, anything but ‘esfihas’, those were horrendously hard as a rock dough with hardly any filling in it, to the contrary of a real, soft and with lots of mincemeat filling bread. I felt disappointed and embarrassed. Once again I see why Brasil will take forever to evolve, as corruption is so rooted in our society, that even though those who have had the chance of moving to a more developed country, simply cannot evolve and mature. Yes, this is also corruption, and I tell you why. If you run a food place and you know whatever you are selling to the costumers is not up to standards and you still go ahead and take money from people, knowing that you probably wouldn’t eat yourself, means corruption.
