I don’t understand this place is horrible fast food with no love. Grease logs with no resemblance of chocolate. What are you thinking 4 – 5 star review ??? Maybe it was a bad night near closing.

I love churros!!! This place has amazing churros and chocolate! My only problem with this one and many of the other churro places in Barcelona is that they don’t stay open very late. In Madrid, they stay open until 3 or 4 am! Why do the churro places here not understand that we want churros when we’re drunk?! I also bought some of their«make-your-own» chocolate and it was amazing! Made it myself at home. It’s such a nice memory of my time in Barcelona.

We L-O-V-E-D our chance meeting with Chocolates Valor. There’s one store front in Barcelona and while we were meandering around at night, we saw a huge line. GOODSIGN. **later found out it started out in 1881 and is famous for their chocolate bars and drinking chocolates! Apparently, it’s a chain but with only a few in major cities** Our wait was about 10 minutes. and we were obvious foreigners… the«bouncer» chatted us up while we waited. Pleasant man! Seating is limited and cozy. For those non-Spanish literate, the menu has tons of pictures. We knew what we wanted… CHOCOLATECONCHURRO. It was definitely by far my favorite drinking chocolate AND churro. Churro was so light and fluffy and the chocolate was thick and decadent. Luckily, it’s a small cup. we drank it up. =) Between here and San Gines(in Madrid), we liked Valor better. =) They also serve ice creams, drinks, candies, fondue. all in chocolate, of course! btw. you can buy the drinking chocolate mix at the supermarket for less. shhh…

What? No one has Unilocaled about this famous chocolateria chain yet??? Wow, I’m shocked! I’m on a FTR streak for real! LOL! If you have a sweet tooth like me, you have to go to one of Valor cafes and try their chocolate-based sweets! Valor is a famous chocolate brand that was founded in 1881 and known for their chocolate bars, drinking chocolate, bonbons and chocolate for pastry. Their chocolate a la taza rocks! They also have chocolate con churros, which I recommend sharing with someone because it’s very heavy. Almost every major city in Spain has a Valor café chain. I’ve been to the one in Madrid as well. It’s a bit pricey compared to other cafes but it’s worth checking it out.
