A nice, clean place to stay in Barcelona! Pros: About 15 min walk from bus stop with luggage Clean!!! Nice communal bathrooms. Sparkly clean!!! Towels provided Cons: They have three routers, but Wifi incredibly spotty. My buddy and I both struggled with losing connection and slow internets the entire trip. Big doors on outside of communal space equals loud slams. Not terribly noisy at night, but not good for light sleepers. To get in… Buzz the«Hostal Girona» button.(It’s above a school that has a 5 letter acronym in red and white, by the way.) go to floor 1 for check in, and they’ll give you keys.

Hostal Girona is a two-star hotel located in a Moderniste building right smack in the Eixample district. It’s very conveniently located between a number of metro stations, and well within walking distance to La Ramblas and Passeig de Gracia(ten minutes or so). At EUR50 a night for a single room with en suite bathroom and air-conditioning, this place is a bargain. There were a couple of things I didn’t like about my room. The only window in my room opened out into the covered airwell in the building, so there was no natural light. Additionally, because the hotel is located in a Moderniste building, the main door is a large, wooden heavy door which tends to slam, and woke me up several times during the night. Still, compared to the prices of comparable hotels in the area, this place is really good value. And, face it, in a place like Barcelona, you’re more likely to be spending time outside of the hotel than inside!
