The service was impeccable! Couldn’t have been more perfect to celebrate my son’s 19^th birthday. We had a mixture of tapas — smoked salmon, calamari, shrimp scampi, octopus — all of which were delicious and different. For the main entrée, we had a fish platter with potatoes and vegetables that was cooked to the perfect texture with just the right amount of seasoning to highlight the fish and it’s natural flavors. They brought out a dessert and a wonderful celebration for my son and dessert cocktails to finish off the night. We were treated so well and our server was amazing. She really catered to us well. We felt like we were her only customers and so special.

Saw great recommendations on Unilocal and dined here. Everything was beyond our anticipations. Décor was inviting, the staff was so friendly and the food was delicious. A must visit!!!

Service was bad… place was too noisy… food was mediocre. Crab was still frozen when it came to our table and I can’t say there was anything really great about it. Not my type of place…

Tonight, while visiting Barcelona for the week, we had the pleasure of having our hotel recommend this place to us. I’m real real glad they did.
From the moment we entered, we had great service. Our waiter made sure we knew all of our options and that there was something for all tastes at the table.
When the food came out, our server, Ariana, took control of de boning the fish. She made sure my Paella was as I asked. I couldn’t be happier with the food, the place, the band, or the service. If I ever come back to Barcelona, we WILL be back here.

Con una decoración de lo más marinera nos subimos a bordo del Patrón, tenemos la ocasión de probar uno de los arroces de la carta (paella al carbón a la marinera) estaba bastante buena.
Antes de que nos trajesen las paellas estuvimos picando unos boquerones a la andaluza y unas croquetas de bogavante muy bueno también todo.
Nos estuvieron comentando que habían espacios privados (camarotes) para celebrar comidas, cenas etc.
La carta muy completa siempre pensada en el mar, pescado fresco, arroces, marisco…
Carta de cockteles amplia con los clásicos y de diferentes. Sin olvidar los gin tonics digestivos.
Música en vivo a media tarde y noche.

Restaurante inspirado en un barco. Tiene la parte de restaurante, la barra de cokteles y ostras, y la de las tapas. Comida muy buena y elaborada. También tienen unos camarotes para cenas privadas.

Decorado simulando el interior de un barco y con muchos guiños marineros como los instrumentos que se usan para navegar. Espacios privados a modo de camarote con nombres de los diferentes puertos catalanes. Carta inspirada principalmente en el mar. Barra de ostras. Música en directo. Selección de cocteles para tomar la primera copa de la noche. Interesante oferta de afterwork los jueves.

Un «barco» que combina tres espacios, gastrobar, coctelería y restaurante. Incluso más si consideramos la terraza y los camarotes como algo separado. De esta forma se adapta a la necesidad del cliente en de cada momento del día: desde desayunos por la mañana, comidas a mediodía, afterworks, copas, tentempié a media mañana. Por la mañana quizá toma más protagonismo su barra en el gastrobar y su terraza para el desayuno o un bocado a media mañana. Durante la hora del mediodía, se une seguramente parte del comedor para poder disfrutar de una comida más o menos formal. Ya por la tarde, la coctelería empieza a calentar motores como un afterwork o incluso un aperitivo antes de la cena. Ese momento que suele ser un acto social, de relajación con pareja, con amigos o de diversión con un grupo tiene varias alternativas para todas las ocasiones: bien sea una cena íntima en algún camarote, algo más informal en la barra de su gastrobar o incluso escuchando música en directo. Dependerá de lo que busques en cada momento, es cuestión de elegir el sitio adecuado.
Su oferta gastronómica también dependerá del espacio escogido. En su zona de coctelería puede abrirse el apetito con unas ostras acompañadas por el coctel sugerido por el baratender, En su parte de gastrobar de la barra se sirven embutidos, ahumados, escabeches, quesos y tapas frías y calientes para elegir que se hacen al momento. Si lo que te apetece es sentarte en una mesa y cenar más cómodamente, debes pasar a la zona de restaurante.

Antiguo Moncho’s de toda la vida con un aire totalmente distinto. Decoración 100% marinera con diferentes espacios: el gastrobar, la barra de cocktails, la sala y los reservados.
Restaurante con mucha capacidad para atender a muchos comensales, con muchos clientes extranjeros, a ciertas horas musica en directo.
No es barato pero no tiene nada que ver con lo que había antes, todo lo que probé me gustó bastante excepto los postres que no me parecieron nada del otro mundo.

What an amazing dinner we had here! Service was exceptional and the meal was one of the best I’ve had in a long time and the best meal of my 2 week trip here in Spain.

I was planning on having a number of small dishes in proper tapas style and ordered the spicy olives, the bread with olive oil and thinly spread tomato, and the Iberian ham (jamon) so far. I ordered each one separately as I ate, rather than all in one go. When looking for the next one the waiter said that octopus is quite traditional. I acknowledged this but said I was more keen on the tuna, which I ordered. Both dishes arrived. I tried to argue but it seems that made the waiter’s English suddenly worsen, so I left it. Turns out the octopus cost more than all 4 the other dishes plus the bottle of sparkling water I had. Now I do not know if this was an honest mistake or if they were pushing for the more expensive items (I heard him suggest this dish to other patrons too), but it left a very bad taste in my mouth. Bottom line I left there having eaten too much (the octopus dish is quite large), frustrated by the service, and much poorer than I intended. All the dishes were fairly tasty, except for the octopus (I just don’t like the texture so I never order it myself) but I will look for tapas somewhere else next time.

Came for breakfast because it was right around the corner from our hotel. You’ll have a nicer selection if you’re there early. If after 10am, the bread will be hard (because the sandwiches sit out all morning until someone orders) and they won’t have any pastries to offer. Bocadillo and café con leche were yummy! The ladies that work there were also very kind and attentive.

Great seafood. Lobster Pallea is excellent, garlic shrimp, baby scallops are wonderful. Awesome service and atmosphere

Very nice atmosphere. Clean with intriguing decorations and ambiance. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Although vegetarian options were not a huge selection they accommodated us well and altered a paella dish for us. It was made with vegetables instead of fish and was very tasty. My friend ordered Choco for her mixed drink and found it to be one of the better mixed drinks to be had anywhere. The lower end red wine was not the best I have had here in Spain but beats many of the expensive wines I have ordered back in the USA. There was a live band playing up until midnight. They were fabulous and made the experience twice as enjoyable.

Es el Moncho’s que lleva toda la vida en Travessera de Gràcia, pero con un lavado de cara en todos los aspectos.
Han reformado el local a fondo intentando que el aspecto se pareciera al de un barco por dentro, y la verdad es que está bastante logrado. Es bonito y acogedor, y eso que con un local tan grande es difícil. Las mesas están suficientemente separadas, que es algo que últimamente parece complicado de encontrar, y las sillas son tipo sillón, muy cómodas.
Como tiene un montón de mesas, no parece que suela tener problema de sitio, incluso sin reservar. Nosotros fuimos un viernes noche y había sitio de sobra.
Tienen música en directo, creo que solo los fines de semana. Son tres chicos que versionan canciones conocidas, desde The Beatles hasta Police, con un ritmillo muy divertido. No molesta para hablar y ambienta mucho, especialmente si luego quieres tomar una copa.
Tienen una barra de cócteles y una carta bastante amplia, los que probamos estaban buenos.
La carta está muy centrada en pescado y arroces, como es habitual en los de la cadena, aunque tienen algo de carne. También bastante marisco y una barra de ostras. En general, todo bastante bueno y con una calidad y presentación cuidada. A la hora de los postres, te traen una bandeja con uno de cada para que los veas, que siempre ayuda a elegir, o a animarte si te quedan dudas.
Nos atendieron muy bien, desde que entramos por la puerta hasta el final, tanto las chicas de recepción, como los camareros y el maitre, que nos dedicó tiempo y ganas para aconsejarnos sobre los platos y el vino.
La única pega, y de ahí la estrella que falta, es que se equivocaron y nos trajeron un arroz que no fue el que pedimos. Nos ofrecieron probar ese mientras esperábamos el otro y dijimos que no por no hacerles tirarlo. Nos pidieron mil disculpas y nos invitaron a un coctel en compensación, pero nos cobraron el que nos trajeron y no el que habíamos pedido, costaba solo unos euros acabar de quedar bien, pero aún así la opinión sobre el servicio es muy buena.

Ordered an entrecôte which looked and tasted like pork. When I told the waiter what I thought it was and that I wasn’t so happy with it, he started grinning while telling me that it had to be beef. He actually gave me the impression that my concern was funny. I know this place is better for sea food but if you offer beef as well, better serve it.
I also know that mistakes can be made, I don’t have a problem with that. But the waiter’s reaction to my concern was disrespectful and unacceptable. Never going here again.

A good, not too expensive place for a nice dinner. Many seafood options, I tried crab which was pretty good. The restaurant is more on a contemporary side, so don’t come if you want something local and traditional.
They also had a live band playing.
The service though was too slow but I guess that’s a general problem in Barcelona.

Once of my fav restaurants in Barcelona… the decoration is amazing (it looks to be in a boat), live jazz and the freshest fish ever. I personally really like the xangurro al horno (oven baked crab). Only a little thing to point out: waiters always try to upsell, so be aware of that, especially if you order fresh fish (once we ended up with a 4kg Seabass and we were just 4 people eating, definitely exaggerated!)

El antiguo monchos se ha transformado completamente y han hecho algo bonito Pero algo falla… Recomiendo los arroces.
