Quadrat d’Or

Una cafeteria restaurante muy pequeñito, pero coqueto, el w.c. es muy chiquitito también.
Tienen leche de soja y leche de almendras.

A friend and I stumbled upon this little gem when searching desperately for more than a sugary pastry on our lunch break from class on Permanyer (about a block up from here). We were a little rushed but nonetheless enjoyed a surprisingly delicious midday meal at this lovely spot. We shared a caprese salad and some gnocchi bolognese and both were solid. The tomatoes and mozzarella were fresh and the gnocchi was hearty. We sat downstairs in a table by the window and enjoyed the atmosphere. The owner and the chef were there cutting vegetables together and chatting and they were incredibly amiable and social with us. There is also seating upstairs and a decently large menu from which to choose, although the best deal seems to be whatever is on their blackboard that day (like ours was). I’m a fan!
