Great spot for great Mexican food! The nachos are a great way to start up your dinner… Very welcoming and nice spot for a casual dinner!

Buenísimo! Si quieres comer comida mexicana aquí es ideal! Soy mexicana y te puedo decir que está de 10 todo! Las flautas de pollo y el pastel de tres leches delicioso!

Para mi gusto es el mejor mexicano de Barcelona. La relación calidad /​precio es balanceada, los platos sin consistentes y muy ricos.
Para la resaca recomiendo unos chilaquiles rojos. ;)
No está por demás aclarar que los precios no van a a ser para nada cómo en México.

This is the first spot my boyfriend and I had dinner at when in Barcelona for vacation last year (sorry run-​on). We were so sick of crappy tapas in Seville and we’re looking for a REAL MEAL. I of course Unilocaled this Mexican restaurant (can go wrong with Mexican) and was not disappointed. The tacos were legitimately good, and so were their drinks! Kind of pricey for what it is, but that’s to be expected in a major city where Mexican food is rare. Definitely worth a stop if you’re homesick!

Este restaurante mexicano es de lo mejor de Barcelona! LA comida es auténtica mexicana y no tex-​mex como la mayoría. A veces tienen ofertas que están buenísimas. Los margaritas también son muy buenos!

Mejicano bastante caro para la cantidad de comida que ponen. La calidad de la comida es OK.
Me gustó:
— El agua de horchata para acompañar la comida. Es deliciosa!!! Si os gusta la horchata no os la podéis perder!!! Se trata de una bebida con leche de arroz y horchata con canela y hielo. Muy muy rica y está muy buena para acompañar la comida, especialmente me dijeron que para acompañar la cochinita pibil.
— El servicio. El camarero fue muy atento y me resolvió todas las dudas y se preocupó de si me estaba gustando la comida.
— Restaurante comprometido con las personas con alergias y con notificación de alérgenos en la carta.
— Restaurante en el centro del Born, muy cerca de mil bares para tomar una copa después.
No me gustó:
— Los precios. Muy caro para la cantidad de comida que sirven.
— Los tacos Pastor. Me pareció la carne muy fuerte para la noche y poco melosa (eso sí, el sabor de la combinación con piña me gustó, pero había muy poca piña).
— El local. No lo encuentro especialmente acogedor y nos tocó una mesa alta con unos taburetes no especialmente cómodos.
— Cómo servían los tacos. Muy pegados entre si y en el caso de los alambres de ternera, con los ingredientes encima reblandeciéndolos y muy muy difíciles de comer. Además, solo sirven 3 tacos, excepto con la cochinita pibil, que sirven 4.
¿Volvería?
Sí, pero para menú de mediodía, que vi que estaba bien de precio. Y además la comida fuerte me entra mejor al mediodía que por la noche. Me encantaría probar los tacos de cochinita pibil (soy muy fan de la cochinita pibil en general) si entrasen en menú y otras cosas. A mi amiga le sirvieron la cochinita pibil en una cazuelita con los tacos a parte y tenía buena pinta. Y me encantaría repetir con el agua de horchata y probar otros tipos de aguas que tienen!

Nice spot to get authentic Mexican food in Barcelona. I would eat here again. The tortilla soup was yummy.

Menu de mediodia muy correcto, solo por el ceviche ya vale la pena, buen producto y bien cocinado

Amazing Mexican food! Being from Chicago, my expectations for mexican food are high. Tlaxcal not only lived up to them but surpassed them. Being vegetarians, my husband and I had hard time finding many options to eat in Spain through our 10 day trip. We were so happy to find this place as it had many options! It definitely satisfied our mexican food craving being away from home! We had their Guacamole (must try), Nachos, and enchiladas. They were all great! They also gave bunch of salsas on the side, which were a great compliment to everything that we ordered. You don’t have to look anywhere else if you want a great mexican meal in Barcelona!

OMG. That’s really all that needs posted. We had the guacamole to start. DELICIOUS! My wife had the tostada de pollo and I had the steak and cheese tacos. Both were out of this world. So good we made a reservation to come back the next night. They do get busy. Worth it!

The food was actually quite nice, if overpriced. we all had tacos: fish, carnitas, ternera.
Unfortunately when we went there the service was really bad. The staff were rude from the moment we got in, like it was a hassle that we had come. They were also pushy about us ordering (which i can kind of understand if it was busy). It could have all been just a bad experience for us, but there are tons of plaxes in Barcelona that have good food and service.

The staff is great! We felt really welcome. They are also from Mexico… so that helps with some credibility. Great for something out of the «norm» if Barcelona has one. Would go again next time I’m in Barcelona.

This was by FAR one of the best restourants I have been too, and with out a doubt the best tacos. The food, atmoatphere, and service all 5 stars. It’s sad that I do not live in Spain let alone Europe so I will probably never come here again but please go to this place, the food is amazing. I might try and go again during my last two days in Spain.
Ps. Get the corn cake dessert

La mejor comida mexicana que he probado en Barcelona. Excelente servicio, todos los que trabajan ahí son amables y atentos, algo difícil de encontrar en Barna. Las tacos al pastor estuvieron geniales y el chancho con cebollas también! El pastel de elote y tres leches geniales!

Food is wonderfully pleasant.
Salsas are all exquisite and unique flare to each one and taste authentic.
I had the chicken allegras and loved them. Really great taste and spice to them and paired well with the horchata that was refreshing.
Ended with a corn cake and filled my stomach while leaving me with a thumbs up expirience

Great tacos, had the steak tacos and the quality of the beef was very high; also perfectly cooked. The place is noisy from music and acoustics but not crowded. Very good guacamole, enough for 3 – 4 people. Cheap decent wine, only 10 Euros/​bottle!
In a great neighborhood, El Born.

I loooooooooove Mexican food! to the point of thinking about going to a Mexican Restaurant while in a food heaven such Spain.
This place is nicely done in a big Spain and is full of references to mexico but avoiding all the über-​used cliches. It’s is located in a side street of mercado del Borne in a big space.
We shared some nachos and quesadillas to start and quite frankly there weren’t anything exceptional. The totopos or tortillas weren’t home made which is something a place serving authentic Mexican food should always do.
Then we ordered several orders of tacos and they were ok a bit too salty in my opinion.
The overall experience didn’t go very well so I think the only thing to do here is give them another shot in the future!

Yum! Yum! Yum! Perfect Mexican food in Barcelona. If you like American west coast Mexican and are tired of tapas, eat here! My husband said its the «best» Mexican food he’s had all year!!! We started with two limon margaritas and the nachos with cheese. Delicious! The Hubbs had the hot pot of shredded pork with red onions and I had the carnitas tacos. Truly delicious!

Es la primera vez que acudo a una taquería y he de decir que me ha sorprendido gratamente. Un ambiente muy agradable y a pesar de no tener reserva nos pudieron sentar.
Los tacos riquísimos, nada que ver con los de los anuncios de cierta marca asociada a México.
Un lugar para recomendar, sin duda.

Por fin una alternativa de calidad a La Taquería¡ Después de ver las críticas en Unilocal me animé a probar Tlaxcal y realmente no me defraudó.
Por partes:
La comida estaba bastante buena: La cochinita pibil muy bien guisada, muy jugosa; El alambre también muy bien, una buena combinación de sabores. Quizá lo que podría mejorar era la enchilada, con el pollo algo seco, pero también un plato bien conseguido. Los nachos bien, pero no me gusta cuando la sobrecarga de ingredientes sobre los nachos terminan mojándolos y ya no crujen nunca más…
El lugar quizá es algo frío. Sobre todo en el piso de abajo, básicamente un zulo con mesas alineadas y con una acústica muy dada a potenciar los ruidos si, como fue el caso, tienes un grupo de amigos celebrando algo en voz alta permanente. Esto hace que la experiencia baje de calidad. Pero más que el ruido, para mi el punto de mejora es que no es un lugar al que quieras volver ir por la calidez del lugar (para mi punto clave de los restaurantes mexicanos en particular)
La calidad-​precio muy bien. Pagamos unos 25 euros por cabeza. Cierto es que sin postre, pero con dos bebidas por cabeza. Aquí decir que las margaritas no son su fuerte, por 7 euros una margarita granizada en un vaso de sidra no me enamoró lo suficiente…
Un lugar con luces y sombras pero con una propuesta de comida mexicana de calidad. Merece la pena probarlo teniendo en cuenta la escasa propuesta de esta gastronomía en Barcelona…

Perfect for a Mexican craving in Barcelona! The tacos de bistec were phenomenal and the nachos were great. We wanted a side of guacamole with the nachos which wasn’t on the menu, and our waiter was very accommodating. My friend ordered a margarita de guayaba which she really enjoyed. The signs around the restaurant are funny and entertaining too, with detailed instructions on how to eat a taco. Highly recommend!

Very relaxed atmosphere. It looks more a lunch place, although the quality of food is outstanding. We really enjoyed the lamb bbq tacos (with the traditional chickpeas broth on the side) and the ceviche’s tostadas… relatively cheap as well, 4 dishes (enough to fill us up), 2 michelladas, a tequila and a premium mezcal for 60 €. Absolutely recommended if you wanna experience REAL Mexican food.

Muy buen restaurante mejicano, el guacamole muy bueno y natural así como la variedad de tacos y los postres… LO MEJOR!!! Sin ninguna duda. ni se vatan sin probarlos !!!

Me quedé gratamente impresionado. Nos dejamos caer casi por casualidad en el Tlaxcal. Reconozco que no le tenía mucha fe, pero los comentarios tan positivos nos animó a probar… Y no fue en absoluto en vano. La sopa de tortilla estaba simplemente genial, las flautas de pollo, las mejores que he probado en Barcelona y los tacos de ternera con una carne muy sabrosa. Para finalizar pedimos un postre de tres leches, buenísimo! Se ha ganado el primer puesto en los mexicanos de Barcelona! Ya tengo ganas de volver y probar otros platos!

Si en La Taquería no tienen rival con los tacos, en Tlaxcal no tienen rival con las enchiladas, la cochinita pibil y para mi gusto el guacamole riquísimo, de lo mejor en comida mexicana auténtica en Barcelona.
Las enchiladas verdes hechas con tomatillo verde como deben ser y la cazuelita de cochinita pibil deliciosa. Para vuestra primera vez apostaría por por alguna de las cazuelitzas servidas con tortillas para compartir, de entrante un guacamole y si os quedáis con hambre pues alguna orden de tacos, tanto de alambre o pastor muy buenos, no son abundantes y quizás un pelín caros si sólo queréis taquear, eso sí muy bien hechos y bien sabrosos.

I’m my four days in bcn, I have gone to tlaxcal 3 times. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants of all time!

Fuimos a tomar algo por la tarde-​noche ya que en su pagina de Facebook anuncian las promos que tienen, nosotros fuimos a probar los tacos del pastor por 1 €, y la verdad que estaban muy buenos, y las salsas merecían la pena. Volveremos a comer y a puntuar.

Gran descubrimiento, el local es muy original y con buen gusto, tienen desde cuadros que te muestran como comer un taco hasta diccionario con palabras en uno de sus dialectos.
La comida muy buena, los tacos de ternera y los nachos muy bien, lo único malo es la lentituden el servicio.
Volveré seguro!

Creia que después de La Taqueria no podia encontrar ningún otro mexicano auténtico en Barcelona, pero no! Hoy hemos descubierto este buenisimo y auténtico restaurante mexicano en la zona del Born gracias a un amigo que nos lo ha recomendado. Y sí, ha cumplido con las expectativas. Comida mejicana callejera regada con buenas y muchas variedades de cervezas locales. Las raciones son contundentes, hemos pedido un plato cada uno a compartir y hemos salido llenitos. El único pero, el precio… 2 platos y 3 cervezas 30 €… 25 € me hubiese parecido más razonable.
De todas formas esta claro que volveremos, con mas gente para poder catar mas platos ;). Por cierto, servicio excelente, rapidos y amables.

I came here for dinner, and it was such pure perfection that I came here for my next meal and ordered the same exact thing. I got the pescado tacos, and they were the best tacos I’ve ever had. (We’re from LA, so we know our tacos!) Ever. For dinner we also got a bottle of white wine which was extremely reasonable in price and yummy. Highly recommend.

If I’m solely rating the food I would give it 4 stars but considering everything, 3 maximum.
My friend and I arrived and I can’t even say we were seated inside because we sat ourselves. The air-​conditioning wasn’t working and it was scorching. Call me what you want but I don’t like eating in heat, especially spicy food like no way. That being said, we tried getting our waitress attention to move us outside but she payed us no mind. Sooner than later we realized that she was the only waitress for the entire restaurant. We then took it upon ourselves to get up and move to the patio so we could breathe while eating. I ordered the green enchiladas and my friend ordered… I forgot. But hers wasn’t nearly as good as mine. The sauce was spicy but not too salty. I also ordered the mango margarita and it was alright. I’m from Texas so maybe I’m biased because we have the best margs in the world.
A few strong margaritas later I looked up and noticed we were the last ones standing. And THEN I saw a huge dog walking around inside while the crew cleaned up. How disgusting. Maybe I’m not so liberal after all because I gagged at the sight. Dogs do not belong in eating establishments like ew.
Summary: Good food. Okay drinks. Bad service. Disgusting dog.

Lo recomiendo para cenas informales en grupo. El bar está regentado por Mexicanos y está dirigido por un español y su pareja mexicana.

— Localización (al lado de la rambla del borne)
— Activos en facebook donde además ponen ofertas
— Los postres
— Televisan algun partido en pantalla grande

— Si no te gusta la comida con un toque picante mejor no vayas

Restaurante mexicano tranquilo con un buen servicio y un menú de mediodía de lunes a viernes a un precio muy asequible que consta de 2 platos, bebida y postre por 10,20 €. Sitio muy recomendable, aunque por fuera de una sensación fría por la composición del local, con un techo muy alto y el color blanco de sus paredes. El precio y la comida que ofrecen son muy buenos, además cuando hay partido de fútbol ponen el proyector y por la noche algún taco en particular lo tienen por 1 €. Por esos motivos las 4 estrellas son más que merecidas, espero que os guste cuando lo probéis. ¡VIVA MÉXICO!

Es una taquería que está en la zona del Born y que tenía muy buenas críticas. Así que me animé a ir durante mi última visita a Barcelona, pero lo cierto es que me decepcionó un poco. El sitio no está mal. Servicio correcto, precio asequible y una carta relativamente variada, con poco picante. Nada especial.
Tienen la típica comida tex-​mex: nachos con guacamole, una selección de sopas y unos cuantos tacos bastante ricos. Los postres no me gustaron. Pedí un pastel tres leches y me trajeron un bizcocho remojado en leche condensada.

It was great to find another Mexican restaurant in Barcelona that wasn’t Tex-​mex, but actually mexican food made by mexican people. Being in a touristy neighborhood, I was a bit skeptical of the food, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The staff was very kind and the owner talked with us a bit. She made some recommendations which we thoroughly enjoyed. We started with Nachos and a side of Guacamole. The nachos had refried beans on them and tons of cheese. I probably could have called it a night after that, but there’s nothing like being sick from eating too much mexican food, so we soldiered on.
My wife ordered the tacos de suadero and I had the enchiladas verde. Both were exceptional and delicious. The plates are presented beautifully and the food is very simply done. They also have a very spicy salsa which I unfortunately had on my finger when I tried to wipe sweat from my eye. Very effective stuff.
If you’re in the Born and want good Mexican food, this is the place to go. I know there are other options in the neighborhood so you have to resist and give this one a shot. Go authentic.

Castellano: No sé de qué se trata la comida mexicana aquí en Barcelona, es simplemente no es bueno! PERO, este lugar es todo lo contrario. Era muy bueno. Tenían los condimentos perfectos para mis Carnitas Tacos. La carta no es muy grande, y tienen en su mayoría tacos. Para la primero tenía las Sopes de pollo. Para mi segundo tuve Carnitas Tacos. Terminé la comida con un pastel de Tres Leches. OMG-​que era justo lo que este nativo de California necesitaba ser revivido.
Sinceramente, le daría a este lugar 5 estrellas, si no fuera tan caro! Mi amigo pedí Queso Fundido con Poblano Chiles (queso fundido con Poblano Peppers) como titular, tuvo Chilaquiles para un plato principal y flan de guayaba con Coulis de postre. Ambos nos pidió agua para beber, y todos juntos hemos pagado casi € 50. La comida era tan buena que tengo que darle una calificación de 4 estrellas. No puedo negar la buena comida.
Definitivamente, voy a estar de vuelta para más, pero no tan a menudo como me gustaría — Mi sueldo no me permites.
English: I don’t know what it is about Mexican food here in Barcelona, it’s just no good!!! BUT, this place is quite the contrary. It was very GOOD. They had the perfect condiments for my Carnitas Tacos. The menu isn’t very big, and they have mostly tacos. For a starter I had the Sopes with chicken. For my second dish I had Carnitas Tacos. I finished off the meal with a Tres Leches Cake. OMG– it was just what this California native needed to be revived.
I would honestly give this place 5 stars if it weren’t so darn expensive! My friend ordered Queso Fundido con Poblano Chiles (Melted cheese with Poblano Peppers) as a starter, had Chilaquiles for a main dish, and Flan with Guava Coulis for dessert. We both ordered water for drinks, and all together we paid almost 50euros. The food was so good that I have to give them a 4 star rating. I can’t deny good food.
I’ll definitely be back for more, but not as often as I would like — I can’t afford to.
