Went in for quick lunch, had coffee, small salmon sandwhich and a plate of fruit, and got a pixto(tapa) of the most gorgeous piece of foie gras with carmelized apple on toast. I’m in heaven.

Muy buen restaurante con productos de calidad. Tiene una carta de pintxos y otra de platos que es suficientemente amplia en su oferta. Precio de los entrantes ronda entre 9 – 15 € y los platos principales unos 13 € y sube a 25 € por el solomillo. Chuletones más caros, evidentemente de varios pesos diferentes para ser compartido. Nosotros pedimos de entrante las alcachofas con gambas gratinadas sobre una capa de tomate seco — buenisimo. De segundo, solomillo de buey con foie y patatas y pimiento de padron — excelente, y el rabo de buey cocido en vino sobre patatas — muy bueno. El precio medio de persona seria unos 25 – 30 € — desde luego merece la pena probarlo! Servicio amable y eficiente.

He ido a cenar con mi chico y lo hemos disfrutado mucho. Hemos comido lo q nos ha apetecido y la cuenta nos ha salido mucho más baja de lo q esperábamos. Todos los pintxos nos han parecido muy ricos y recomendables 100%, pero por si le interesa a alguien nos quedamos con el d huevo d codorniz y el tataki de atun(q no es pintxo, es tapa). El servicio atento, amable y rápido. Gracias chicos!

We had an excellent dinner last night there. The assortment of pinchos was amazing, the taste of the kingfish chef filet was original and the duck breast is to be recommended. The waiters were friendly and spoke English. Due to a big party at that time, our service was a bit slow. But We can understand that. The price was very reasonable, at least 1⁄3 less expensive than in the States, for the comparable quality and quantity.

Zarautz was the first restaurant my wife and I visited on our honeymoon, and it was so good we made it the last one as well. We never tried the full menu, but their pintxos are to die for — little bites of Catalan cuisine skewered with toothpicks and served on slices of bread. Salmon, iberico ham, bacon, queso. All but the fanciest bites are just € 1.65, so you can’t beat the price either! Just remember to keep your toothpicks, because that’s how they’ll calculate your tab at the end of the night.

La comida en este sitio es buena. No es espectacular, pero está bien(y el precio de los platos no es desmesurado). Sin embargo, les doy una sola estrella porque son unos impresentables: nos pusieron una cestita con 6 chuscos de pan(de pan del de toda la vida, nada de pan de oro) para 3 personas –de los cuales nos comimos uno, que todo hay que decirlo– y nos cobraron 6 € por la cesta, es decir, 2 € por persona en concepto de servicio de pan. Es indignante y vergonzoso. Lógicamente nosotros no habíamos pedido el pan, y asumimos que, por la cantidad que pusieron, si nos lo cobraban el gasto no sería desmesurado. Nuestra sorpresa llegó con la factura; eso, junto con el precio también elevado de las bebidas(2,80/3 € por un refresco o cerveza), hizo que una comida de unos 50 € se convirtiera en una inflada de 70 €.

Enjoyed the food here after reading some mixed responses from other Unilocalers. The tapas and clams were fantastic and the the cod fish was a stand out. Would certainly recommend it to anyone.

In our search for tapas yesterday afternoon, we came upon Zarautz. While we didn’t see a tapas menu outside the restaurant(there may very well have been one that we missed) we ventured inside to find a beautiful long bar full of delicious tapas, about 20 in number and an additional 10 – 12 selections on a little menu in Spanish on one side, English on the other. The prices were extremely reasonable and the service was friendly and helpful. Our favorites were the foie with apple, red pepper with cheese and the Mallorcan tasty gem. I only wish the length of our stay allowed us to try Zarautz for dinner.

Really great food and nice ambiance and décor too. Options for tapas change daily or periodically, but there are always vegetarian options available. I went during a very busy time(around 2:30 pm) so had to wait a bit for my tapa to be heated, but the staff was pleasant and helpful in determining meat-free options. Wi-Fi is free and there is a «full bar.» I have that in quotes because my favorite drink appears to be unavailable in Barcelona as I cannot find a coffee flavored liquor(e.g., khalua, Tia Maria) anywhere!

We went twice. First time got tapas and the zarautz salad which was awesome – highly recommended. The second time we got the octopus(best I’ve ever had), beef carpaccio and oxtail. Every single dish was tremendous. The main menu is even better than the tapa menu. I know this is a bit off the track, but this place is Michelin worthy. It was fantastic.

We didn’t feel like walking far after a long day of sightseeing so I decided to check Unilocal for something close to the hotel(Expo Hotel). Not even a 5 minute walk so it fit the bill. It is nice little place and have to agree with what most of the other English reviewers said. The staff was very helpful and their English explanations of the system(1st time in Spain and never eaten tapas) and the different dishes were good. We sat at the bar and were able to watch everything. We happened to spot a big jar of olives behind the bar, but didn’t see them on the menu. We asked for some and got small bowl. They were really good and went well with the drinks and other dishes. If you don’t see them on menu you might want to ask for some. If there were any negatives it was the air conditioning was a little too cold for my wife and luckily she had a jacket to put on. This wasn’t such a negative for me, but some people might not like their music selection. It was mainly 70s and 80s rock(for example the Eagles) and I wouldn’t say a real«Catalan» experience whatever that may mean. Finally, the only reason I didn’t give it 5 starts is that it is my first experience with this type of food and restaurant and don’t have anything to compare it too.

Loved this place. Not sure why they are called ‘pinchos’ instead of tapas but I loved every last one of them. Stuffed artichokes and salad were great. Chicken and leeks, rabbit ravioli. Delicious. And they are all so nice. Nice vibe. Located on a quiet corner — almost missed it.

Great place for pinxtos and wine– tried the hot and cold pinxtos menu –each one perfect! Quail egg-check, date and bacon-perfect-Serrano and ham –delish! Can’t go wrong with zucchini anything. Waitress charming despite my so-do Spanish. Love it and will be back next time I have a stop at Sants –Barcelona.

This restaurant gets the honour of being my first five-star review that I’ve discovered solely via Unilocal.I was alone on a business trip, in my hotel on Plaça d’Espanya, looking for something to eat nearby. The app pointed me to this place, and it couldn’t have done much better. The service was friendly and quick, although, admitted, it was a quiet Monday evening. The food however was amazing. Since I was alone, I skipped the tapas and starters, since I didn’t want to be out for too long. As a main dish, I decided to make a rare break from my vegetarian habits, especially since the fish menu looked so good. I picked the baked codfish with mild garlic mayonnaise and asparagus, which was simply heavenly. Very smooth, with just enough texture and crunch. After this great dish, contrary to my original intentions, I had to try a dessert as well. I went with the pear cannelloni with idiazábal cheese. Gorgeous. Amazing food, good atmosphere, friendly service, good prices: this restaurant really brightened up a lonely evening. Thank you, Unilocal.Thank you Zarautz.

Pulpo con crema de setas, alcachofas rellenos de langostino, entrecot y buenos pinchos. Hasta el dulce estaba divino. Gusta porqué es un bar de barrio donde ves personas comiendo sola. Seguramente el ambiente no es de lo más bonito pero el personal es muy simpático. 25 por cabeza. El único falló la cerveza estrella. Mejor sería estrella Galicia

Wow! Every dish we ordered was sheer perfection! Fabulous food, friendly service, excellent seafood! I’ve never tasted octopus that was so soft and succulent. The scallops were perfectly pan seared; the razor clams were seasoned and cooked just enough so it was still soft and not too tough. The pumpkin soup was heavenly. The tuna tataki was to die for! Too bad I don’t live here in Barcelona, otherwise this would be my weekly dinner place.

Authentic, gourmet, vibrant and great service. I had the mixed salad which was refreshing and special and the salmon steak over roasted eggplant and some nut paste. Klasse, absolut empfehlenswert. Sehr guter, netter Service, erstklassige Speisen, ausgefallen und von super Qualität. Wir hatten zum Beispiel einen tollen Salat mit Ziegenkäse und Mangodressing, Entenkeule mit Apfelchutney. Leider haben wir dieses Restaurant zu spät entdeckt, sonst wären wir öfter eingekehrt. dort gibt es einiges an Speisen zu entdecken! Weinpreise ideal, Speisepreis auch, absolut empfehlenswert! In Berlin hätte man für dieses Essen einiges mehr bezahlt(locker 5EUR mehr pro Speise). Daher stufe ich es als günstig ein.

I ate here on my last night in Barcelona and what a way to say goodbye! This is what I ordered and enjoyed every bite of: Appetizer: Raviolis de pasta casera rellenos de tomate seco, mozzarella y albahaca Main Course: Lamb chops Dessert: Orgasmo de Chocolate(Brownie, Mouse de Chocolate Blanco y Negro con Chocolate caliente) I couldn’t believe my luck that a neighborhood restaurant could create tasty dishes with impeccable presentation. You can’t find the same kind of quality in a neighborhood restaurant in the states. For example, I know if I got the chocolate brownie here at home for dessert, it probably would’ve been store bought with vanilla ice cream slapped on the side. At Zarautz, it was warm, sweet, perfectly set in my dish with white chocolate and milk chocolate ice cream. It was beautiful! I wish I had taken a picture but you can always go and try it out for yourself! The staff was friendly and welcoming even though I didn’t speak any Spanish. I was grateful for the English menu although I should have at least picked up a Spanish phrase book to help me out. I finished everything I ordered and was completely stuffed!

El paraíso de los pintxos vascos. Evidentemente no se trata de una taberna 100% vasca, sólo hay que ver que el camarero es extranjero, pero el look y la comida es muy etxea, muy patxi, muy ¡anda la ostia! Fuera la broma, en Zarautz puedes comerte pintxos por sólo 1,50, y si quieres alguno más curradete lo tienes por menos de 4 euros. Genial, para tomarse un aperitivo, o comer sin menú, no creéis?

Lo primero que me llamó la atención de este restaurante fue su nombre, ya que se llama igual que mi ciudad natal: Zarautz. Está muy cerquita de la estación de Sants, y un día que llegamos demasiado pronto para coger el tren, justo hacia Zarautz, nos encontramos con el bar. Entramos y nos tomamos unas cervecitas y unos pintxos. Estaban riquísimos y hay una gran variedad. Desde entonces siempre que volvemos de algún viaje en tren, pasamos por el Zarautz para tomarnos la cerveza de bienvenida a Barcelona.
