Los Diamantes

This place is the bomb! They are so busy but they take care of customers; even if you don’t speak a word of Spanish! Shrimps are the bestest ever! Fresh, moister, and fresh!!! You can choose between entry or tapas (½ order) if you want to sample different dishes. Between Madrid, Sevilla, and Granada, tonight we had the best clams, grill shrimps, chicken nuggets, and razor clams. I was so inspired, I came back to my hotel and wrote this review before sitting down after 12 miles hike in town all day.

If you come here be sure to arrive early. A popular hangout that has minimal seating always seems to draw the crowed of locals, tourists and students.
We were able to get a spot at the standing bar.
After two glasses of red wine and tapas which was delish, our bill only came to € 5…Damn cheap and filling for those wanting a quick bite on the GO.
The place is clean and simple… but most of all dishes out the good foods packed with local ingredients.
Their prices and portions are fair.

Poco puedo decir de los diamantes. Enamorado de ellos como cualquier granadino creo, conquistando siempre a los que nos visitan. Pescaito frito hasta que se les acabe. Pero las berenjenas, mollejas o riñones riquisimos también. Además el personal siempre atento y simpático a pesar del lío que tienen siempre.
Eso so, no vayáis esperar mucha comodidad. Bar, para estar de pie con tu cerveza o copa de vino y disfrutando con la comida y facilitando que la gente pueda pedir, porque se suele estar achuchado. Mi recomendación es, si no quiere estar apretujado llega a primera hora de la tarde o de la noche.
Mis favoritos este y el de calle Navas, los dos con más encanto. Sin estáis en Granada, debéis de ir si o si.

Really expensive — the only downside, really.
I did not get to try anything here besides their gambas blancos and free tapas with drink purchase, but I can tell you that the quality of their seafood is absolutely amazing. The shrimp flavor — the freshness and taste was like something I have never experienced before — boy, it was the best shrimp we had in all of Spain.
Service is kind of spotty and extremely slow, even at after 3pm when the crowds had died down completely… but that may be just the American in me that is always expecting things little more quickly.

Hands down the best experience in food we had in Granada! This place was just one great plate after another, the tiny clams were probably my favorite dish we had. We ate there, took a nap, and promptly went back for another round! Grab any spot you can, order a caña, and let them surprise you. Amazing!

Loved this place. Everything is lovely and the service superb! Don’t waste your time going to other places that will fill you up with a panini and potatoes with your drink because they give you the best freebies… I don’t want to share this place because it’s already crowded enough! ;)

Mi lugar preferido de Granada, sin ninguna duda. No he comido unos boquerones mejor fritos… y ofrecen un surtido para chuparse los dedos. La verdad es que de los cuatro Diamantes que hay, el de la calle Navas es, para mi gusto, el mejor. Voy siempre que puedo y espero que por muchos años.

Granada spoiled us with all their free tapas (w/​drink purchase), especially Los Diamantes, which came highly recommended to us by the locals. The place is on Calle Navas, a street known for its tapas (nearly every shop is a little restaurant), and SPECIALIZEs in seafood plates. We arrived near the end of lunch, around 3pm, right before they closed for their mid-​day break, and squeezed our way up to a spot at the bar. Each round of beer we ordered came with a new round of free tapas, and each one was absolutely amazing – the fried salt cod to start and then the sherry-​soaked clams. Amazing. The cod was lightly battered and perfectly tender and paired so well with the beer. Then came the clams… soaked in sherry and seasoned beautifully. Know this before going to Spain: the Spaniards aggressively season their plates more often than not. And I ain’t complaining.
A guy next to us at the bar was enjoying a dish that looked really good, so out of curiosity we asked him what it was. I thought it was chicken, but it was Mollejas (sweetbread) and the man quickly offered us a bite. We tried it. Pretty solid, not gonna lie.
We wanted to stay (forever, really) but left after the two tapas and after chatting it up with the friendly local at the bar. Don’t worry, we went to their other location (Plaza Nueva) later that night for Round 2. We were missing it that much.
Oh how I miss you, Granada and Los Diamantes.

¡Nos encantó! Este rincón está lleno de pura ensencia de la calle, de lugares de siempre, de sitios de toda la vida, no para turistas ni tiquismiquis que anden buscando una mesa donde sentarse.
Es un bar de esos con un encanto auténtico. No te importa estar de pie, porque cuando te pides tu primer vino blanco y empiezan a llegar las tapas, todo se te olvida: pescaitos, arroz de pescado, calamares… Lo completamos pidiendo cazón (que estaba de escándalo), y salimos de allí con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja.
Son realmente atentos, y eso que está siempre lleno hasta la bandera. Pero no falta el buen humor, las risas, y son realmente rápidos y eficientes. No se olvidan de quién ha pedido qué aunque no quepa un alfiler.
Es digno de visitar.

This place had amazing seafood tapas!!! We tried calamari, fried seafood platter, grilled and fried squid, gamabas pil pil (shrimps) and mushrooms with garlic. Everything was superb!
The place itself was very crowded, you’ll have to squeeze in the crowd and find a place. No seating, just stand and eat at the bar, elbow to elbow with your random neighbor — that’s the charm of this place! :)

Delicious fried food in friendly casual surroundings. The sweetbreads are stand out — very garlicky though. The razor clams, anchovies and mushrooms were equally memorable.

There are so many options when it comes to food in Granada. But this place has all the hype. Portion sizes for the free tapas are solid, and the cerveza is cheap (2 € for a decent sized cup if I remember right). This place is the best for cheap seafood in Granada. We ordered beer and got free tapas which were one of the better fried seafood we had in Granada. The calamari and shrimp had good texture and came out hot and fresh.
The staff was way too busy to tend to us I don’t believe they spoke English but we communicated easily enough with our poor Spanish. I ended up leaving because they forgot about us. I would try to definitely come here again if I return to Granada when its not busy to give it a fair chance.

There is so much good food in Granada, to be able to regularly fill your bar up is a sign that you are doing something right. Portion sizes for the free tapas are solid, and the cerveza is cheap (2 € for a decent sized cup if I remember right). This place is the best for cheap seafood in Granada. We ordered the razor clams (navajes) and they were absolutely delicious. The free tapas included fried monkfish and fried eggplant with maple syrup, both of which were very tasty.

Love it!!! Friendly service. Jose was great! Very busy but worth it. Free tapas with a drink purchase. Granada is amazing as is but free delicious tapas!!! Can’t go wrong with this little gem! The pescado rosa was delicious. Would definitely return when in Granda!

It’s fried. It’s crowded. It’s seafood.
Unique atmosphere, not sure its worth going for a second time.

Situado en una de las principales calles de tapeo de Granada, la calle Navas, este minúsculo local está siempre repleto. Apenas dispone de tres mesas en el interior y algunas más en una calle aledaña, por lo que es más para tapear de pie.
Si en algo destaca respecto a otros de la ciudad, es porque sus tapas son principalmente de pescaíto. Con la primera que pedimos nos pusieron unas gambas fritas que estaban bastante ricas. Aparte pedimos media ración de chopitos a la plancha, que estaban también buenos pero algo enteros, un poco más de tiempo en la plancha no le hubieran sentado mal. Y de segunda, unas chirlas al vapor, que estaban algo secas.
En cuanto al precio, las bebidas eran alrededor de 2 – 2,50 euros, y la media de chopitos a 9 euros. El precio de esta última sí fue algo alto con respecto a la cantidad.

Standing room only at this crowded, narrow bar as locals and tourists alike struggle with good humour to find a space in which to enjoy a cold refreshment and a fishy snack. The prices are very reasonable (a glass of beer & a tapa for 2 €), the fish is fresh and cooked to perfection so what’s not to like. Quite possibly my favourite branch of this small chain.
A place to eat, drink & make merry …

En pleno centro de Granada nos encontramos con Los Diamantes, un bar típico que todo el mundo te recomienda y al que hay que ir temprano sí quieres coger mesa.
Como es habitual en esta ciudad te ponen tapas gratis con las bebidas. En este caso es aleatorio, es decir, no se puede elegir, pero siempre son tapas relacionadas con el pescado. En mi visita me pusieron rape frito, almejas, arroz a la marinera, gambas rebozadas y cigalas. El precio de la bebida es 2 €. También se pueden pedir raciones y medias raciones que son bastantes grandes.
Me ha gustado mucho Los Diamantes y lo recomiendo a todos aquellos amantes del pescado.

Seems like the most popular bar on Navas, and I can see why. Although it’s hardly decorated and cafeteria-​like, it’s fresh seafood cannot be beat. The mini clams served with olive oil are just perfect, as are the lightly fried yet flavorful and succulent little shrimp (unlike any I’ve had in the US – seemingly white, tiny, yet tender). Love this place.

Tapas are very good, although when we visited the waiter charged us extra for food we didn’t order… So that kinda ruined things but it was clear it was an honest mistake.

Great atmosphere and good house vino and yummy tapas! This place is MOSTLY seafood which is why we loved it so much ! Most tapas places here have so much pork and since we don’t eat pork this has been a better choice for us !
What we learned: In Granada if you order a drink you get a free tapas! You can’t chose it, it’s whatever their serving at the time. 2^nd drink mostly they will have made something else up ! So it’s a fun way to try new things ;) plus here at Los Diamantes some of the tapas are the same things you might order off the menu but in a smaller portions.
So when we were in Barcelona last year we eat our fill of tapas and drank enough sangria for a month (in 5 days). So we expected similar food here but it’s different. But not in a bad way. Tapas here are small plates of food… In Barcelona they were little treats severe on a piece of bread– each slice of bread was a tapa (now I could be saying things wrong but this is just what we experienced). Here in Granada there isn’t sangria there is another drink thats slipped my mind but it’s red wine and a lemon soda mix! It’s light and refreshing ! So while we are liking the food and drinks, I do have to say there is a bit too much ‘fried/​battered’ food served as tapas for my liking .
Been back to Los Diamantes twice already (wasn’t able to check on Unilocal)

Awesome seafood here. Friendly waiters and the clientele are cool too. Definitely stop here if your in Granada.

Small tapas bars with a quick table turnover rate. People come, order some drinks, get free tapas, and move onto the next bar. I guess we didn’t get the memo because my friends and I sat around thinking this was where we were having dinner so saw all new faces all around us every 15 minutes, lol.
We ordered a round of beers and got a full plate of fried anchovies. Looks and sounds frightening but it’s delicious! The head’s still intact, it’s a bit meaty, and everything just tastes good when it’s fried.
The fried platter of assorted seafood came with fish, calamari, shrimp, and more anchovies. This was also really tasty but eating all this fried food starts to get old very quickly. So make sure you order more beer!
The baby squid was highly recommended and it was our least favorite dish. We had several baby squid dishes in Spain and this one was a let down. It was really chewy and didn’t have much flavor. You just chewed and chewed and chewed.
And lastly, to counter-​balance all the bad stuff we were eating, we ordered a plate of sauteed mushrooms. They were small, round mushrooms. So round it didn’t get fully cooked so a little bit raw in the middle. Again, wasn’t as flavorful as it looked.

So much fun! Small tapas bar filled with locals and tourists chewing down on delicious fried seafood. The hardest part is finding a spot to call your own (highly recommend waiting for a spot at the actual bar if your Spanish is not strong, as ordering can be hectic).
All the seafood is great and most of it is fried (the gambas, fried shrimp, were excellent). You can order in full or half portions or just roll the dice and see what free tapitas you get with your drink — the free tapitas here are very high quality as it is often the same food you would get if you ordered it from the menu, just smaller in portion size.

Yo tenía agobio, solo estábamos de paso por Granada y mi mujer me dice que aquí hay que comer en Los Diamantes.
¡El lugar más petado de gente que puedo recordar!
La verdad es que pensé en protestar y/​o agobiarme más o… pero entonces el de la barra pasó un plato de mollejas al primero que tenia delante que se lo pasó a otro cliente quién ya se lo dió al destinatario.
¿Qué? ¿Cómo? ¿La gente, los clientes colaboran en pasar las raciones?
¡Y vaya pinta tan buena tenian esas mollejas! Ni me acuerdo cuando he comido unas ricas la última vez.
Bueno pues nos quedamos y de repente se abrió un hueco en la barra para nosotros:
— Media ración de Mollejas. Las mejores que he comido. Pruebalas sin dudar.
— Media de variados (plato de frituras mixtas de lo que pillan: berenjenas, pescado, gambas…).
y tres medias raciones más que fueron todos un deleite. Ese punto perfecto de fritura sin exceso de harina, sin pasarse de frito.
No puedo escribir ni los nombres de las raciones ni sus precios porque, como un buen lugar a la antigua, no me dieron nada. Ni tiquet ni «naa», ni falta que hacia.
No te puedes ir de Granada sin haber comido aquí. Es el retorno al buen hacer de una cocina andaluza de siempre. Un restaurante muy ruidoso pero con todo el mundo disfrutando de sus platos y raciones.
Recuerda pedir una cerveza (no agua) o un vinito para beber para que te pongan una tapa gratuita que ya es casi una media ración en si.
¡Definitivamente este es un sitio al que volveré! ¡Qué no cambie, qué no cambie nunca!

Nos lo recomendó la dueña del apartamento que habíamos alquilado en la calle Cruellas, … hay un sitio en la calle Navas … (que veréis que hay mil) que se llama Los Diamantes, es muy famoso, va gente de Graná y también va mucho turista porque se come bien. Quizá no es el más barato pero merece la pena!
Allí nos plantamos, … a medias/​raciones nos pusimos como el Kiko! Gambas plancha (buenísimas), cazón, unos boquerones (buenísimos) y calamares! Lo clásico.
De precio no está mal, las medias entorno a los 9 euros, las enteras dependiendo de que sobre los 14 euros. El día que estuvimos nosotros, había algunas cosas que no tenían, pero en una pizarra en el centro del bar ofrecían otros fuera de carta.
Los camareros más rápidos que Billy el Niño!

Para todos aquellos aficionados al pescado frito Los Diamanté, es una parada obligada en Granada. Cuenta con una buena selección de pescados de entre los cuales, te van sirviendo lo que toca una vez pides tu caña de cerveza.
Si quieres ir lo que realmente debes saber es que se abarrota de personal por tanto, es importante que vayas pronto o que al menos sepas que estarás muy justo comiendo con otros clientes pero que igualmente, disfrutarás de un buen pescado frito.

Si quieren tapas granaínas que acompañen sus cañas no duden de entrar en este lugar. Me atrevo a decir que uno de los mejores bares de tapas de la capital, entre otros muchos.
Un ambiente de lo más casero y entrañable, personal atento, y servicio rápido, sin esperas demasiado largas. Difícil sentarse y difícil resistirse a quedarse cuando has traspasado la puerta.
La verdad, en la misma semana, fui dos veces, es tan bueno, que te quedas con las ganas de haber probado aquello que no te cupo en el estómago el día anterior, creo que no deberían perder el tiempo decidiendo dónde comer, si no se tienen ni idea y es el primer día, vayan a lo seguro.

Si quieres comer buen pescaito frito este es tu lugar.
Tienen varios locales en Granada, en la calle Navas está el primero y con auténtico sabor granadino. Suele estar lleno siempre y es pequeño.
En la calle Rosario (bajando Navas) está otro, más grande.
Luego en plaza nueva está el más moderno, y suele haber casi siempre sitio.
De precio es normal, pero las tapas y raciones de calidad las mejores.
Muy recomendable.

Es muy habitual de esta ciudad andaluza que se sirvan las tapas con la consumición. Es algo de lo que los granainos estan especialmente orgullosos. Además, conforme al número de rondas que grita el camarero de esta guisa y sirva como ejemplo, TRES PRIMERAS, TRES SEGUNDAS, TRES TERCERAS, etc… va variando la cantidad y/​o la calidad de la tapa.
Y en el epicentro de tapeo de Granada, en la calle peatonal de Navas, se encuentra este bar entre típicamente turístico como alternado por los propios locales, con más gente que en el metro y más estrecho que un vagón y que una celda de Alcatraz.
La causa de tal concentración humana en un espacio tan reducido es, como no, su aperitivo, su tapa. Que no solo es generosas sino de una de las mayores calidades de todo Granada, y eso es un piropo bien tirado. Aperitivo, cuya calidad y cantidad también se verá incrementando con el trato y con el número de rondas. Las tapas pueden ir desde patatas con pimientos, gambas a la plancha, navajas, gambas rebozadas, flamenquitos, matrimonio y un prolongado etcetera.
La angostura del local y la superpoblación demográfica evitará que tengas una comida de tapeo tranquila y en armonia, pero si consigues un buen lugar, a la tercera ronda verás satisfecha tu gula por un precio irrisorio de 1,60 € la caña. Caña que no es caña, sino que se aproxima peligrosamente a una doble. En vaso de sidra llenito hasta arriba, no como esos tiñosos de los vascos, que mucho vaso mucho vaso pero te lo llenan hasta la mitad.
Yo fui siguiendo una recomendación, el mejor bar de tapas de Granada, sigan ustedes la mía, no sé si será el mejor, pero si quieren disfrutar de un bar tipicamente granaíno en pleno Graná, vayan a los diamantes.

Hola! Die Bar ist klein und voll, aber ich finde sie extrem authentisch. Die Tapas sind gut, das Bier günstig und alles voller Einheimischer.

Sitio de fritura de pescado de categoría, si no fuera por que siempre esta lleno, pero eso tienen los buenos sitios, personal excelente.

Pesaito frito de excelente calidad. No hay que perderse sus gambas fritas. Hay que ir temprano porque se llena enseguida y se acaba el pescao!

Si no fuese porque está siempre lleno de gente y personalmente es algo que encuentro muy incómodo, no dudaría en darle cinco estrellas en mi reseña.
Es verdad que los camareros son rápidos, amables y eficientes, pero a mí me agobia no comer tranquilo.
Sin embargo, que esté tan lleno tiene una clara explicación: su cantidad y variedad de tapas. Pescaíto frito, puntillas, calamares, boquerones… todo para chuparse los dedos.
