Super leckere Tapas.

We made reservations and were alone at 20.00. By 20.30 the place was jampacked. Great tapas and drinks at reasonable prices.

I sat at the bar. Cute atmosphere with cute older waiters. I only went because of reviews but the dates wrapped in bacon were delish and I would have tried more if I was hungry! Good job!

Fresh and tasty classic majorcan tapas. Apparently the menu is set each day based on what was available at the market that morning. VERY busy and lively atmosphere. Service was QUICK, especially for Spain. Our favorite dishes were the pimientos de padrons(I love making these at home btw– so easy and delicious) and the mussels. Also try the locally caught fish.

Good food, but too few for the price they charge, seems to be minimalist because of the quantity and the price, not talking about the service, you get better service at Wendy’s than here, better not coming, it just order a pizza.

Schade!!!

Still my best choice for Tapas in Palma! Been to La Boveda numerous times and I’ve never been disappointed. Staff is always friendly and funny, Tapas are simply great. Definitely don’t expect a romantic quiet place … but it’s a really nice and vibrant place with simply inexpensive, great food. Definitely reserve a table, you won’t have any chance on weekends without a reservation. By the way, don’t mix this one up with the restaurant directly at the Passeig. This is the one without a terrace(and I like it more) …

I visited La Boveda as a party of two on a Monday night in the end of July 2013, so we were hardly surprised to find it jam packed. A waiter told us that it would be ca 20 minutes until we would get a table, but that we could wait at the bar. This proved to be an excellent choice, as the bar seems to be the only place in the restaurant where you will be served when you need it — therefore: try to squeeze in at the bar to avoid having to wait for one of the harassed-looking waiters. The place is, as others reviewers will tell you, understaffed, and the service is therefore slow and not particularly friendly. Our particular waiter behind the bar, however, was very sweet indeed. We noticed that the first waiter we encountered seemed to have no control over who were queueing for tables, and kept telling everyone that it would take 20 minutes, so my tip would be to wait and take responsibility for grabbing a table(or, preferably, a seat at the bar) on your own. Most of the tapas dishes cost between 8 and 12 euros. We ordered pa amb oli(bread with tomato salsa and olives), spring onion omelette, bacon-wrapped dates, ham croquettes and fried padron peppers. Apart from the pa amb oli(which, to our palates was spoiled by consisting of the tasteless Mallorcan bread and being underseasoned), everything was delicious. La Boveda is where you go for the more rustic, traditional tapas, as opposed to the more creative and upscale fare served other places(like Ummo, which serves truly fantastic contemporary dishes). However, rustic was our choice of the day and we were not let down. The atmosphere is also a key factor to making La Boveda a great night out, as you get that«I am at a real tapas bar in Spain”-feeling(although somewhat marred by the fact that very few of the people surrounding you are Spanish, but everyone seems to be labouring under the same illusion, so it works regardless…). The noise level is quite loud, and private tables are scarce, so it is not a good place for serious conversations, but this is pretty apparent when you view the restaurant from outside. All in all a great place for a cheery night of plain good Spanish tapas in a great setting!

If you’re looking for delicious tapas, this is the place. Fun ambiance, vibrant crowd, and great location. We ordered the chorizo, potato omelette, stuffed red pepper, olives and bread, steamed clams, fried little fish and grilled king prawns. The only thing I would not recommend is the olive and bread. Everything else was too notch!

Palma de Mallorca is a very busy tourist location, just about year round. Lots of Brits and Germans come here. Taberna de la Bóveda is a very popular place and very good also. We had a lunch for three people for a reasonable price when you consider it included a bottle of Crianza The croquetas de jamon were slices of ham inside a fried batter — just plain wonderful. The calamares fritos were not your usual batter dipped rings. They were whole small squid about the size of a finger. Delicate coating and fried to a wonderful finish. Pa amb(local novelty of putting sliced meat on oiled, tomato sauced bread) was out of this world good. See for yourself… The building used to be a bodega(wine cave) and we ate in the lower section(basement) where it was very cool on a hot Palma day.
