I had lunch around 2pm on Sunday the 31st of January. The food would have been better if the carne asada burrito wasn’t filled with jalapenos. The menu didn’t even mention it had it. I had heartburn for a few days. I have never experienced this at any Mexican restaurant. Will not return. Plus, it cost $ 47 for 2 entrees, 2 drinks and a milkshake. I lived in West Texas most of my life. I know Mexican food. This was not it.

A good stopping off place on our way to Ocean Shores. Good food, good portions, average prices. Wait staff was smiling, friendly, and personable — unfortunately a rarity nowadays.

my wife and I were on our way to Ocean Shores WA since we had almost 100 miles with out a stop and hungry, we decided to stop and eat at this Mexican restaurant, we were happy we did the people here are friendly and even before we order we had the chips and salsa on the table, usually in the places we go unless you ask for them you don’t get them, the food was great I order the carne asada and my wife order the red enchiladas… it was so much food we could have made out with just one, so we took the leftovers and had them latter, we will be stopping here every time we go the the beach needless to say

If you like microwaved frozen food with store bought shells this is all you! Enchiladas made with cheese that’s not melted and scalding hot plates thanks to their awesome microwaves. To add to the experience the staff disappears after dropping off your disappointment that they call food. When you let the staff know about your experience they play dumb and don’t apologize. Save yourself some money… you can get better food and service at taco bell.

We stopped by here on our way home from ocean shores. I was anticipating your typical American mexican food based on the ratings of others. I was left in extreme dissapointment as the chips and salsa arrived at the table. What could best be described as water, tomato, and onion sauce, with stale corn chips. I had the grilled chimi which was not bad, however the rice tasted of boxed rice and the beans of canned beans. In short if your starving it’s meh maybe have a strong drink and you won’t be able to tell. As for the food don’t expect much.

Now I wasn’t expecting a culinary explosion here but I was expecting some decent american mexican food while traveling back to Seattle. My husband and I were hungry and decided to stop here on our way from Ocean Shores back to Seattle. I still cannot believe how thin my chili relleno was. Ok, I am getting ahead of myself. We got there about 30 minutes after they opened and along with a gentleman, we were the only people dining. As the gentleman already knew what he wanted he ordered his food quickly. Too bad the waitress couldn’t get his order right with any efficiency. About 45 minutes later, the waitress still could not understand Heuvos Rancheros with sliced jalepenos on the side. I wanted to go back to the kitchen and make it myself. My husband ordered the chimichanga with chicken, rice and beans(he forgot he ordered chicken because he couldn’t taste it or see it) and I ordered a combo of a taco, tostado, enchilada and the chile relleno, no rice and beans for me. All in beef unless I wanted to pay an additional $ 2. NAH! I gave the taco to my husband and dove in. If I had of been blind-folded I would not have known what I had ordered. Just a bland mess. My poor chile relleno was a thin piece of egg batter with cheese and sauce on top. Did I mention there was no chili inside? ROFL. Oh dios mio. Anywho, after swallowing down the food in an attempt to be full until we got to Seattle, we made small talk about my glass being empty of the ice and pop that should have been inside of it. Nobody came by until I was about to get up to ask if I needed anything. The waitress(not the original one) slipped me my bill and asked if I needed anything. As I uttered through my dry cobbwebbed throat that I would like some more Pepsi, she dashed off. My husband used the restroom and came back and I went and came back, still no Pepsi. When she saw my pulling out my card, hocus pocus here is my Pepsi. Needless to say, her $ 1 tip was well deserved.

Perfect simple Mexican food! Just when you want the comfort of a cheese enchilada they have it warm and gooey. Delicious! Super polite staff and good ambience.

When I want Mexican food this is the only place I go. I live in Monte, but they have nothing as authentic as this. Lived in a little farm town in California’s Sac valley. The town had a population of 8000, but would swell to 15000 in the summer picking season. It has 6 Mexican restaurants and I grew up with this type of cuisine, so I feel I can be a fair judge of true Mexican food. I have tried most of the dishes and have not been disappointed to date.

Because this simply was not an inspiring meal, I am just going to leave you with a few facts. 1) Expensive, but you can get a single cheese enchilada, rice and beans for 7.99 on the dinner menu. And the enchilada is pretty big. 2) Carne Asada salad left something to be desired, but was decent. 3) Flan– alright. 4) Friendly service 5) The rice tasted like wax– they should not be serving that rice. 5) Unless you are willing to seek out the few items under 10 dollars, I highly doubt that 3 people could have a dinner here for less than 45 $. 6) I will probably stop by again– the seafood enchiladas are ok.

It’s alright I guess. People seem to like it, but that could be based solely on the lack of good restaurants in the area. I like how the place is decorated. They have pretty fast service and AMAZING Cadillac Margaritas. I’m just not so into the food. Every time I have been here the food tasted like year-old deep fry oil. Even the chips! I would rather go to El Rancho in Montesano any day!

I was in Aberdeen on business and decided to get carry out at Mazatlan. This restaurant is a little hard to find from the road as it is tucked in a corner of a strip mall, next to Ross Dress for Less. I asked one of the Ross employees if it was a good choice for Mexican, she said yes and now that I ate there I would happen to agree.
I ordered the #18 a combo of Burrito(I opted for chicken) and Chili Relleno. One Unilocaler said that the food is good Mexican-Americana and I agree. While it isn’t authentic Mexican food, it is flavorful and the portions are large/good value for the money. My Chicken Burrito was loaded with chicken. The Chili Relleno was a little small, only a taste, but it was still good. I liked their chunky red sauce(diced tomatoes, onions, peppers) that they put over this dish. Since I ordered carry out I didn’t experience their wait staff service but the gal that helped me with my order was friendly and patient as I was making my decision. The restaurant interior was kitschy Mexican– colorful, fun and vibrant.

Traveling up the road and needed some mexican food, and we found this place on the main drag through town. Food was above average… I had chorizo and eggs that was good, some places jack this dish up, but these folks did it just like I make it at home. Large serving which is always welcomed. The salsa was o.k., it wasn’t hot and too watery. But they did have Dos XX on draft and that makes for a good morning… good breakfast with a few pints of XX… just what the doctor ordered on a long road trip. Sevice was very good.

Mazatlan has two restaurants in town. The one in Gateway plaza is a little run down: the seats could use some reupholstering and it’s a little dark. But the food is good, the service is always pleasant, and the prices are alright. The flagship site, their relatively new build-out at the end of Wishkah, is very nice. Same food, same great service and same prices as far as I can tell. The only bonus is a bright, new establishment, and a nice bar to meet friends and get plastered on Marggies! Mazatlan caters to the Mexi-American dining experience, so the food isn’t really«authentic» per se. If you want that, you should try one of the other smaller outfits in town like Salvadorena or La Unica. See my other reviews of those establishments for that«real» latino feel. But not to disparage Mazatlan. They do what they do, and they do it well. I go back on a frequent basis. You can always count on them to provide the traditional Mexi-American experience.

I have always loved Mazatlan here in Aberdeen, even when they only had the one location in the Wishkah Mall(which is still there, next to Staples). Having recently moved back to Aberdeen, I was amazed to find that Pizza Hut had moved into the old Godfathers at the corner of Wishkah & Broadway, and that the former Pizza Hut was now Mazatlan! To begin with, they have one of the easiest accesses of any restaurant in town! You can get into their lot off three different streets! Or you can simply park right in front on the street, which some of us like to do when we want to keep an eye on our vehicle. They greet you the moment you walk in, and seat you very quickly! They always seem busy, but still have more than enough seating available. I just went into this particular Mazatlan for the first time 1 day before this review. I was just as impressed as I had expected. The owner(not just a waiter/waitress, but yes, the owner!) was at our table so fast to take our orders we didn’t have time to get through the first couple pages of their extensive menu! Now that I like! When he appeared at our table, he had his arms full of a pitcher of ice water, two glasses of ice water, chips and HOT(way too hot for me!) salsa! And he’s a super friendly, nice guy! Myself, I had a simple Beef Burrito, which came with beans and rice on the side of course. I loves me some burritos! I was impressed on how huge it was! There was so much meat in it that there was no way I could have eaten much more of anything when I was done. And as hot as you could ask for. Like most Mexican restaurants, the plate was smokin’ hot! My meal was top-notch, but then that’s what I would expect for the hefty price I paid. I truly believe $ 11 for a burrito, rice and beans is a bit steep. But hey, they do have other menu items a little cheaper. Like many places, you get what you pay for, and the burrito on my plate was huge and hot like the rest of my food. So I guess it was maybe worth«close to $ 11». My girlfriend had some kind of Chili Verde, which was just as huge as my burrito. She loved it! But yes, it was even more expensive than the burrito! I was NOT very excited to find out they charged us $ 1.95 for a tiny monkey dish(that’s actually what they’re called I’ve learned from years of working in restaurants) of sour cream! OMG, are you kidding? $ 2 for sour cream? It might have been worth maybe a buck, but not $ 2 unless it was in a bigger container. Oh well, it was still more than enough to heap on both of our meals. I will absolutely without a doubt eat here again! The service is top-notch, the food hotter than you would expect, and everything was tasty! NOTE: someone should really remove the picture of the OTHER Mazatlan from this review! It’s not fair to show one place that looks nothing like another. Just my opinion.

A very decent Mexican food place. They have an extensive menu, Beer and Wine and cocktail choices. Being vegan we were somewhat limited on what we could order but did find some nice choices and the food was good. Our waiter was attentive, helpful and friendly but if you are vegan you will need to make sure that the cheese gets left behind.

I’ve been going here for quite some time, but the last time I went here, I had crap service. Not only did it take more than 30 minutes for someone to come take my order, but the servers and waiters kept walking by and looking and me without saying or doing anything. And the damn place wasn’t busy at all. Then my cup had some nasty ish in it. And the food was only okay. It was only when my boyfriend and I got up to leave that they took our order. And the last few times before this time, the service wasn’t fabulous either.
