Savings are good on most items. Several items are cheaper at Sam’s. A downfall is you really have to watch expiration dates. A lot of things you will find either have expired or are near expired. Produce is of poor quality. I either go to Sam’s or farmers market for most stuff. I quit buying chicken there after 3 times I bought rancid chicken and it wasn’t even expired yet. With chicken there is no doubt it’s bad. The smell will knock you over as soon as you break open the seal. I have bought turkey there without any problems though. Other meats you just have to be careful on your selection. One other issue is they are poorly stocked most of the time. They will be frequently out of items. I’m not sure if this is the managers fault or the vendors but it’s frustrating either way. It’s customary to tip your bagger. They don’t get paid by the commissary. They accept coupons but no doubling. They have coupons at the front of the store but I find they don’t carry some of the items they have coupons for which is frustrating. The cashiers and other workers are friendly and helpful. The store and bathrooms are clean.
