Stopped here yesterday with my Mom and sister and her two kids. Got to see the two beautiful greyhounds that live there. Such sweeties! The lady running the place was really pleasant. I’m not that into greyhound racing, but I love anything to do with dogs so I liked all the dog paintings and statues. All in all it was a really cute, interesting place.

Honestly, we were in town to experience the Big Three of tourist destinations. Since nothing else was open on Sunday morning, we opted to check out the Greyhound Hall of Fame. The greeting by 2 retired greyhounds made the stop worth while. What sweeties! Even though the introduction film and display films were a bit dated, we learned a lot about the role Kansans played in the history of the sport. We also enjoyed the art exhibit. We probably spent around 30 minutes total in the building. Friendly people. If you have the time, worth the stop.

We saw the sign for this on the interstate saying we could pet the hounds. We couldn’t pass that up! When we pulled in one of the dogs was in the exercise pen out back having a good run. There are two greyhounds who live at the museum and they are very sweet. There’s a short movie inside that tells you a bit about the history of greyhound racing.

I like museums and Greyhounds, so this is a sure thing. We were driving from Atlanta to Seattle and found that our route came a mere mile from the museum so we stopped in. We arrived at opening which I believe was 10am, and the staff was really friendly and let us bring our dogs in for the tour. It helped that two of them were greyhounds, with the other two a whippet and an IG. If you are driving by, it’s a nice stop.
