Heff’s Burgers

Friendly staff and decent service, but the food is average at best. Went with a large group of parents sand kids on a long road trip. The kids wouldn’t eat the burgers and they were really hungry. Based on that alone I cannot recommend this place.

My in-​laws live here in Abilene, and took us to heffs for lunch one day. Best burger I’ve ever had.

Solid burger that’s big and definitely good — but left a bit to be desired.
Service at the counter also left a bit to be desired at around noon of all times. The young lady that was supposed to be working the counter was physically there, but maybe not mentally. She seemed a bit spacey, but finally did get around to taking our orders. Mine was a double cheeseburger with twister fries (twisted homemade chips) and my wife took a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings.
We headed over to the coke freestyle machine which was on the fritz that day. I only got one chance to fill up over there before it had crashed. One of the employees was trying to work on it during the bulk of our visit.
We finally got our meals which were quite substantial for burgers. The meat, as mentioned by others, doesn’t really have much in terms of seasoning. I tried both the regular fries (which were sprinkled through my twister fries) and the twisters and was a fan of the latter much more. Onion rings were pretty good and fairly light.
Went back up to the counter for a couple of scoops of ice cream to go, which seemed to overload the young lady’s mind once again, but eventually we did get them… in an oversized drink cup. Oh well.
It’s good. Maybe I just had an off day? I’d go back if I’m in the area again.

The Bucket Burger is a must, the best burger I’ve ever had… ever…like in the history of ever. If you come close to Abiline you have to stop by.

There is nothing special here.
Burgers are ok, but there are several places in Abilene that are better.
I would go back, but I prefer other places more.

We were driving through town headed to Dallas and stopped at Heff’s because of the reviews and we weren’t disappointed! The sourdough burger was awesome, the twisted fries were awesome, the heff sauce was just as good too! The owner came by and checked on our table and the rest of the staff was friendly as well. Definitely going to be stopping there on future trips!

Working in Abilene this week and craved a burger. This place was down the street from the Marriott so I gave it a try.
I ordered the double meat burger combo with pepper jack, all the vegetables, mayo, mustard, and ketchup.
The burger was a good size and couldn’t wait to take a bite. The meat was moist and had very little seasoning. I think that’s the only flaw to this burger… no seasoning. If they just added something simple as seasoning salt, this burger would be off the charts. Aside from seasoning, this burger wasn’t bad.
The french fries on the other hand were just blah. No seasoning. I added salt but that didn’t help. I used the spicy ranch, still not good. Finally added ketchup, no help.
I would recommend not getting any fries or chips. It’s not worth it. I would come here again. Since this was my first experience, I can’t say how consistent they are, but I had a good cook tonight.

Great food, atmosphere and staff! We had the Eggslent Burger and loved it. The atmosphere is a hot rod/​50s place with a computer controlled drink dispenser that offers about 100 different drinks and combos. If I had to think of one suggestion, when my wife asked what the Heff sauce tasted like, our server admitted she didn’t know because she had never tasted it. But, 5 stars!

Go hungry because the size of those burgers are enormous!!! Pretty good burgers, I had onion rings and those were pretty good as well; you could definitely tell they were beer battered!

My first time here, it was AMAZING. I’m from the houston/​galveston area and have gone to Tookie’s, many times, but this place is 100 times better. I thought I was getting an everyday cheeseburger, this was NO everyday cheeseburger, WOW. I truly hope yall think of opening a Heef’s in my area.

Fabulous food, quick service, friendly staff, clean and good environment! Wish every restaurant experience was as pleasant as Heff’s!

We stopped in for dinner on a family vacation. We are always looking for local restaurants this place blew me away. Amazing burgers, friendly staff, great atmosphere. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a good burger!

I just moved to the area and live close to Heff’s. I love their food. They are very consistent with fast and friendly service. Highly recommend this place!

great burgers, great story!

Very busy but quick service. Hamburger was very nice. The fries were crispy, which I like. I had heard that they were getting Blue Oasis Ice Cream but the counter person didn’t know about that. I really wanted some ice cream but was looking for Blue Oasis.

Man, what a burger. It was the best Burger I’ve had in ages. The onion rings are another home run. Service was great. I’ll stop here every time I’m in Abilene

Excellent made to order burger place. Stopped here on way back from midland. A bit off the interstate but worth it. Exit 288 and go past all the other stuff n front of walmart. I had the eggcellent burger. Big handmade patty, cheese, bacon, and fried egg on Texas toast. Was awesome. Highly recommend.

The fries, burgers, chicken, you name it and it’s great! I love this place. It’s got a unique look and the people there are awesome! The burgers are top notch and the fries are made from potatoes in house. It gives it that extra advantage over other places.
All in all it’s great.

Amazing ½ lb burgers… juicy and full of flavor. But even better were the buns! Soft and buttery. The service was great and the staff was friendly. I’ll definitely be back by next time I’m in Abilene.

Love the new location. Dining area is set up 50’s style with lots of neat stuff on the walls. Couple of TV’s to keep you entertained. Food is always good. Tried the patty melt for the first time and really enjoyed it. I’ll add jalapenos next time! For one of the best burgers in Abilene, come try the new location. Oh yah, the fancy coke machine is pretty cool too.
