The tea I got served smelled like raw sewage. And the food was mediocre at best. My coworker smelled the tea and said it smelled like sewage also. I’ll never go back to m and r grill.

I had the chicken fried steak and wife had chicken breast with baked potato. Everything was great except my fries and her baked potato were not hot. However, I really liked the fries as they evidently fried them a different way — they were crispy and really light. My steak was great, hot and large. The only thing odd was that the waitress never asked us how we liked the food. We eat here every time we come to Abilene. We’ll be back.

Three words. Southwest Chicken Salad. My favorite dish of M & R Grill – since they opened several years ago! They have revamped their menu and remodeled the restaurant. Several improvements and they truly serve great food. Please stop by and grab a bite to eat. I highly recommend this place.

Just ate dinner with friends here. Each of the five of us ordered a different meal and all agreed the food was great. Service was friendly and for a bar the noise level was comfortable. If ever in Abilene again M&R would be our first choice for dinner!

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Had the pretzel burger which was kind of a disappointment. Had no flavor other than a charred taste. On a previous visit I had a steak which was pretty good. I’d visit again

We were in Abilene for the weekend and needed a little something to eat at night after feasting on a big chicken lunch and touring the Eisenhower museum. This was the perfect place. Menu has a huge variety. Our group had 2 different kinds of burgers, 2 different kinds of salads, soup, and a loaded baked potato. Even though we thought we weren’t that hungry, our plates were clean. There were TVs in the room but they weren’t a bother with the volume being down low. On a very cold & windy night, it was nice to be in a place that was properly heated. The servers were very friendly and helpful. Drinks were refilled constantly. We tried to eat there again the next day for dinner but they were closed on Sunday evening. With the big menu, we could eat there for a week and not have the same thing. We’ll be back when visiting Abilene or traveling through again.

Again went to M&R for lunch on Sunday. Same experience — very good. I would recommend this restaurant for both locals and travelers on I-70 who don’t want the usual fast food available just off the highway.

I went here with my husband recently. He enjoyed his steak, but my experience wasn’t quite as good. I’m a vegetarian. I knew there wouldn’t be a lot on the menu for me, but I asked if they could make their Cajun Pasta dish without chicken because of the fact that I am a vegetarian. She then asked me if I wanted steak on the pasta instead. I found this amusing, if not a bit surprising. Needless to say, I said no. Service was rather slow, despite there not being many patrons present. In fact, there were times I felt ignored. Not my best restaurant experience here in Abilene.
