I came here after biking the Virginia Creeper Trail and there was nothing fancy or spectacular about this place. Their food was average and their pizza was okay. The service took forever but I do attribute that to us having a large party of 20 and also considering that they were really busy. The service was friendly so that really helped make up for how long the order took to came out. Everyone around me seemed to really enjoyed their food. Great place to stop by on a more casual visit.

A very good, hometown place to take a load off and get a good pizza. They have many different toppings and pizza combinations to choose from so there are plenty of choices. One recommendation: the artichoke dip is excellent, one of the best I have had, highly advise picking this as an appetizer. Would definitely stop here again on the way trough.

Decent pizza, solid beer selection, fun décor. After 7 hours on the interstate, this place hit the spot! The calzone we ordered was particularly good.

Great pizza, great service. This place is a fixture in history for all of us; fraternity brothers at E&H, coming here since 1987. So glad it is still here. An iconic place. They can handle large crowds, so don’t worry if it’s crowded. And the pizza just simply tastes good.

My favorite pizza restaurant in Virginia. Absolutely must go. We always eat here after we finish the Virginia Creeper Trail because it’s so close and so good.

I really thought I left a review a couple years ago. Wish I could remember exactly what I had, but I remember liking it enough to want to return. Went again recently, and I do like it. Not my favorite of all time, but definitely worth getting if you’re looking for pizza!

Great pizza within walking distance from the motel we were in. I am always skeptical of walking into an unknown eatery but this was a superb. Pizza was good, 5 craft beers on tap that were ice cold and the servers were awesome… friendly and eager to help. Appears to have a lot of locals as well, highly recommend this if you are in the area.

Short and sweet… Very good pizza, breadsticks and Wings. VERY poor and rude Waitress, tall, skinny and blond-haired. She acted as if we were inconveniencing her and she seemed to tend our table as if we had done her wrong somehow. I will go to the one in Bristol instead of this one the next time I am in the area. «B+ for food» «D+ for the rude, stuck-up, young Waitstaff and Hostess»

After crashing my car, I was forced to stay the night in a town I am mostly unfamiliar with: Abingdon, Virginia. A half mile from my hotel, I found a local pizza place called Bella’s. Stepping in, you find a mostly plain, but smart setup. There’s a mixture of table sizes, so groups are definitely possible. I went with a calzone for my food choice. Not bad! Weird crust taste, not as flavorful as others, but I was not disappointed. Jordan was my server, and was very kind. I see it for what it is. It’s not trying to be the best pizza place out there, just good enough for the locals and weary travelers(me) to enjoy a good pizza instead of a fast food joint or gas station.

The beauty of my job is that I get to travel and taste different types of food. Tonight it was Bella’s Pizza and Sub’s. Location is strane, parking was scant, and the inside was different. The acoustics were bizarre I could hear exactly what a guy three tables over was saying, but not the table next to me. But the food and service were definitively above average. I had a vegetarian pizza with anchovies as an extra topping. The bread was great and overall it was very delicious. The beer selection was basic but there was a beer for every taste. Finally the service was attentive and the price was good for the quality of the food. This is absolutely a place I will visit next time I’m in town!

Good pizza BUT unfair pricing policy. Ordered two large pies with 2 — ½ toppings on each. In other words they were using only half of the topping only but instead we were charged for four full toppings. I inquired about it with the manager but all he could say was«sorry I’m just the night manager.» Additionally, they got the order wrong. This is why they only got three stars instead of four. As of now they can get away with this because there are not too many good pizzerias in Abingdon. Once competition comes to town it’ll be a different story.

Traveling through on 81 and stopped for the night at a local hotel. This was close so we decided to give it a try. Saturday night, pretty full but no wait. Servers were all friendly and attentive even though they were busy. Somewhat long wait for food but it was worth it. Great pizza. Loved the handtossed crust. Buffalo wings were good too. Baked, but not gummy like other places. crispy and spicy buffalo flavor. Sweet tea was disappointing but I am a sweet tea snob.

We are from Charlotte, NC traveling through the mountains and catching some new counties and cities. We decided to use Unilocal in Norton with great success, so we tried again in Abingdon. This place turned up and we were not disappointed. I had the Calzone and it was really, really good. The sauce was unique as well. Not sure if that was garlic or parmesan in the sauce, but it was great. I would definitely get it again. I wanted to try the Syrian pizza, but it doesn’t have meat by default. I guess I could have added a meat topping. Not sure what happened to William, but our food was out within 15 minutes of ordering. Another person said this place was loud. I would presume that would all depend on the number of people. We were here at lunch on a Sunday. The noise was average, but not loud. Anyhow, we found another great local restaurant that we were very pleased about, so thank you Unilocal

Don’t let the exterior fool you. There is some seriously good pizza here. The crust was on the thin side and had some nice crunch to it. Toppings were great and quite generous. We were driving through town and arrived about 3pm. Very friendly waiter. I would definitely be a regular if I lived close by.

This is hands down my favorite pizza that I have ever eaten!!! We stop here every time we visit my cousin or family in parts of Tennessee! The crust, cheese, and sauce is unbeatable! The staff isn’t that friendly but who cares. I’m there for the pizza!!! It’s right off the exit so if u are near stop there!!!

After a twelve months hiatus we decided to give Bella’s Abingdon another try. Sadly, a mistake. We waited 42 minutes for our pizza.(It was early and the dining room was nearly empty; so it wasn’t a matter of being too busy.) And the pizza arrived BURNT! The server seemed to avoid us so we went ahead and ate it. Wasn’t horrible, but the crust was tasteless. Cheese and topping was okay but would have been better if not over-cooked. Overall, not horrible, not great, barely good(except for the burnt.) There are MUCH better options for pizza in town. AFTER we finished eating the server finally stopped by. When he asked if everything was okay we told him that the pizza was burnt. «Yeah, that’s been happening» he said«the oven isn’t working right and they can’t lower the temperature. I’ll talk to the manager and get you a discount.» Great, we thought, you just increased the amount of your tip. He soon returns with the check and says«The manager is at the supermarket so I can’t do anything with the price. Sorry, guys.»(No discount.) Ooookay. Guess what, I decide on the tip and the Unilocal*review! Editorial: My tip always always reflects the quality of the SERVICE; usually not the quality of the FOOD… the quality of the SERVICE. I’m a firm believer in not penalizing the server for a bad kitchen. However, if it’s something the server should have caught and didn’t, that’s a few points against him. Bottom line: Mediocre(at best) pizza, lousy crust, poor service and horrible quality control. If you want consistently good pizza and reasonably good service. look elsewhere.

Pizza is usually very good. I say usually because sometimes the crust will be under-done and then prone to doughiness. Wish they were more consistent. Very friendly staff.
