Crit Hit is the original game store in Harford county. They have a ton of events, and a convenient location for folks in the Edgewood/Abingdon area. The store is kind of hidden in a plaza, but once you know where it is, it’s easy to get back there. There’s always plenty of parking, and 2 places in the same plaza to get food if you’re in the middle of a marathon gaming session. They have a decent selection of things in stock, and Whit is super good about ordering stuff for you. It’s impressive how much stock they have in the space. They have play space in the back, which can be a little tight, especially if there’s a tournament going on, but it’s usually quite workable. Had a great time there the other day playing Cyberpunk with my new RPG group.

As a recent transplant to Abingdon, I was thrilled to find out I was minutes away from a game shop. My wife & I love the board and card games. I wouldn’t call myself the biggest gamer out there, I’m not versed in Warhammer or Magic or any of the likes, but I know where to go to find my favorites such as Guillotine, Gloom or Bang. This little local shop has a nice selection of card and board games for those looking to break away from the tired titles played to death(Monopoly, Risk, etc). Find a wide variety of games you never knew existed. I went in and found a few games that I had unintentionally left in Washington State and the owner ordered the game that wasn’t in stock for me. I conveniently picked it up a few days later. The front half of the store is dedicated to the sales floor, but the second half is where all the fun happens. The owner has tables set up back there for gamers to come in and play. I’ve seen a few different things being played the times I’ve been in there. There is also a selection of supplies for those that need them for painting their figurines and such. Great little store, nice owner. These are the kind of stores I love supporting, even in a world of Amazon, because they provide a place for people to come together and bond over games they enjoy. I believe community is important and Critical Hit Games helps our community by opening his doors for customers to come in and have fun.
