The exhibits change every few months, so even if you have been before there is something new to see. There is no charge for admission. It is wonderful that we have a place like this available in this area.

William King Museum of Art is one of those hidden gems in the SW VA-Tri Cities TN area that more folks need to visit. For one, there is no admission to see the works of art and historical displays. The building itself is an old school on top of a hill near Abingdon — the creaking floors and high ceilings give the museum a rustic charm. The art is very eclectic, from folk art to photography and the exhibits change normally once a quarter. The museum also holds First Thursday events and talks with local artists and historians. If you’re in the area and want to get a glimpse of the local artistic flair and learn about the history, I would highly recommend visiting this museum.
