John is great. We have an energetic black lab/​boarder collie mix. He LOVES to run and play. Before we rescued him, his foster home had 10+ dogs so he loves to play. John was great with him. He would make sure our dog was sent home tired.
I will say this, K-​9 kamp isn’t for everyone. The dogs play hard. Our dog often came come dirty (just from playing outside with other dogs all day). John has a very unique personality which can defiantly rub people the wrong way. But we did not have any problems.

If I had wrote this review a few months ago after our first visit I would have given a five star. After our dogs visit today I would take all those stars back. Our French bulldog came home not dripping blood (which he was from three paws) but the fourth paw was pouring blood. My husband put a plastic bag on it for the 5 min drive home and there was a puddle in the bag. I understand their nails can bleed when cut short but first off you are a professional I expect nothing more then a slight nick… Four paws bleeding at pick up 3 required us to repack them and cover with papertowels and my kids socks. This is unacceptable

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE!!! We have taken our small, usually mellow dog to several groomers without any problem. My wife just returned from this place in tears with our dog bleeding everywhere from her nails. A man called my wife and berated her on the phone saying our dog was out of control. They were also extremely rude.

This is a great place and John is very talented with all of the dogs. I boarded my dog with him for almost 3 weeks around Thanksgiving. When I returned, Ruffuss was healthy, happy, clean, and even had his nails clipped (an almost impossible task no one else was able to accomplish!)

We love K9 Kamp. John is amazing with all the dogs and Cooper loves him! When we first got Cooper an Australian Shepard we were nervous to leave him anywhere but both my husband and I worked all day at the time and didn’t want to leave him in the house all day. We had checked out a bunch of doggie day cares and then finally we checked out K9 Kamp. When we got there and met John instantly we felt comfortable leaving Cooper with him. He scooped Coop up and gave a big hug and checked him out, cut his nails and brushed him. I knew when we left him there he would be loved but kept in line.
The daycare is super clean, John is a neat freak. He is always cleaning everything and doing some task when you are picking up or dropping off your dog. The place is huge and the dogs have a lot of area to run around in. There is also a huge heated area that has hammocks and places for the dogs to lay inside on cold or rainy days. Also, Cooper gets a bath every week and he comes home every Friday fresh clean.
Cooper has now been going here for almost two years and he loves it. We now have a baby so I am home but we still bring Cooper there most days because he loves it so much and gets all his energy out. He gets so excited when we turn into the K9 Kamp drive way, if his window is open he has jumped out the window and runs to the gate or John, that is how much he loves going here.
We love K9 Kamp and John and we highly recommend bringing your doggie here!

The owner is EXTREMELY rude!
During the initial «interview» it came out that he has been sued numerous times and that it would not work out as my mother looks like the «kind of person that would sue» him…
Will be bringing the dog elsewhere…

We have two lab pups, Bosco and Harlow. I trust John with my dogs when they are there, they have a good time, tails wagging when we arrive in the morning, and are SO tired when we get home. John always tells me how they were during the day, and is honest and so knowledgable. The smile on his face when we pull up in the morning makes me confident he loves my dogs as much as we do, and he treats them with the utmost respect they deserve. My dogs love him, and that tells me that he does a great job!!! They sleep for days when they come home. His staff is so sweet, always smiling and my dogs go to them without hesitation. Flexible, confident and comfortable are the words I would use to describe K9 Kamp. What a great find.

We first met John, the owner when our Springer Spaniel needed obedience training. John was willing to come out to our home to work with us one-​on-​one. He gave us great pointers and offered us many toys and treats to offset the price of a home visit.
When our dog walker was unable to continue with our schedule, we made the decision to send our dog here. He plays here 3 – 4 days a week, has met some wonderful «friends» and always comes home exhausted. K9 Kamp is advertised as an «at risk facility.» Translation: The dogs play hard. I have recommended this facility to many fellow dog owners, but send them with this warning: It is a military operated facility (ask John some stories one day!), and the dogs will play hard. My husband and I are fine with that as we both know our dog needs to be put in his place at times by other dogs.
I trust John 100% with my dog and know that he gets the attention he needs. John always keeps us updated on his behavior and lets us know if he feels B needs more training/​correction.
And for those of you with Springers, you all know that anytime a Springer comes home tired… well, it’s a good day. :)
