Urology Health Specialists

This practice is now known as Urology Health Specialists. I had a complete urinary tract blockage that came on without warning in connection with a urinary tract infection. My primary care physician was able to get me a timely appointment with Dr. Larry Cutler at Urology Health Specialists in Abington, PA, affiliated with Abington Memorial Hospital. Dr. Cutler was able to diagnose my condition quickly and determined that surgery would be required. He scheduled me for the first available button prostatectomy and preliminary cytoscopy procedures. Within a few weeks after my first appointment, I was having the surgery done. Dr. Cutler was my surgeon. His surgical team was superb and, together, all of them not only handled the procedures efficiently and without difficulty, but they helped me understand the process and feel at ease with it. After one hour of surgery and an hour of recovery, I was headed home on an outpatient basis. The quality of his work was obvious to me because my post-​operative recovery proceeded just as described in the textbooks. I understand that every case is different and that a patient’s recovery depends on many factors, but Dr. Cutler made the entire process transparent to me. His sense of humor has to be experienced to be appreciated: he keeps his staff and patients in stitches! Seriously, his sense of humor relaxes everyone and got me through the early, traumatic episodes of my condition. I can say that he and his staff saved the quality of my life, and they did it in the sort of expert manner I could only hope for. I can’t say enough about his staff, either. They clearly cared, they engaged me with humor, with patience and with knowledgeable instruction. I could see that the staff have respect for and enjoy working with each other. This transformed my medical crisis into a life-​reaffirming process of healing from a life-​threatening condition. I strongly recommend that anyone with urological issues contact Urology Health Specialists. If Dr. Cutler can’t answer the phone, know that the person who does is part of his topnotch team!

Very thorough and professional. Insanely so. Primary care guy forwarded test results. I made an appointment. They mailed six double sided pages to my house. Don’t fax them back! Fill them out and bring them with you along with a huge list of other stuff. Keep everything handy as they’ll call to have you read it to them. It’s not a best practice — those that can enter the stuff on a web form should be able to do so. I write it then read it to someone who keys it? That’s broken.
When you get there you’ll pay in advance. Staff is friendly and thorough. Maria was very nice as she took my vitals. Dr Cutler was on time and on point. He was direct and easy to understand. All good despite my misgivings about the medical profession in general and modern bureaucratic insane-​o office procedures.
