We booked the Gray Cottage at the Big Yellow House at the last minute and were so glad we did. We arrived late in the evening and were warmly greeted by Nick. He’d set up a pack&play in the bedroom for our 15 mo old daughter. The cottage was spacious, giving our daughter lots of room to crawl. There’s a breakfast nook, full bathroom, and little foyer as well as the bedroom. The value for the cottage option was very well worth it. We also REALLY enjoyed breakfast. Nick is a well-trained chef and he served a magnificent two-course breakfast with Greek yogurt and house-made granola followed by a new take on Egg’s Benedict with potato hash in a red pepper remoulade.

We live about 15 miles from the Big Yellow house, so this is a review of only the food. Every so often, we are thrilled to see an announcement on Facebook that the Big Yellow House is having a price fix dinner, and I’ll tell you what — we don’t miss them(as long as we’re in town and not otherwise detained). The food is elegant, extremely flavorful, well though out, and superbly executed. The service is warm, accommodating, and friendly. The dining room is in an old Victorian style house with antique furniture. Even as a dining guest, we got the feel of a bed and breakfast fine dining experience. Even at street events like the BBQ cook off, The Big Yellow House offered amazing, gourmet food that complimented the event. The owners/chef/front of house are wonderful people we look forward to seeing every time we eat there. TIP: BYO Beer /wine.

Amazing Bed and Breakfast! Good food, great value! I found myself in Absarokee for a wedding and I am so glad I chose to stay at The Big Yellow House. The bathroom was very clean, the bedrooms were spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Nick and Wendy really took care of me in the breakfast department. I was alone for breakfast the first morning but that didn’t stop Nick from setting me up with a full spread!(Juice, tea/coffee water, pancakes, bacon, eggs and hash browns.) The second morning, I had six friends from the wedding join me for breakfast and Nick and Wendy were so accommodating! They arranged a very elegant patio dining table and chairs on their front lawn and served another amazing two-course breakfast, this time with a greens grown in their own garden. Everyone in our group was very impressed with the food presentation/quality and for what we got, I would have expected to pay twice as much in a regular breakfast diner.

The best B&B you can find! We looked this spot up trying to find a stopping point between Billings and Bozeman. They were way over the top friendly and Nick is an awesome chef who never stops cooking. Got my wife some slippers from the gift shop and she has yet to take them off.
