I decided to try electrolysis for the first time ever with Evelyne on a whim, right as I was leaving town after visiting relatives in the area. A few days before, however, I called her office to see what her hours were. What I really appreciate about the way this office is run is that we were in the middle of a snow storm, and Eveylne had left up-​to-​date hours on her voicemail so I knew when she would be available. This is a sign of taking one’s business and customers very seriously and I appreciate that element of responsibility. She was very prompt at getting back to me about an available appointment and very accommodating: I got lost, came late, and could only do half of the scheduled treatment.
The office was clean, just one room with a tiny waiting room outside. She showed me clean, sterilized needles and explained to me the process as best she could during our rushed session.
I give the service three stars because the next day, in New York, I tried a different electrolysis office to finish the treatment and I hardly felt the needle at all whereas at Alexandre Electrology the machine made more noise and felt more of a «kick back,» if you can call it that, as the electricity zaps the follicle.
I also had bruising starting as little as an hour after the treatment, which is still healing after over a week. I called Evelyne about this and she got back to me, but said it had never happened during a session before which was not so reassuring to hear.
During the treatment with Evelyne, I was also made to feel a little concerned about my health when she asked if I had some sort of thyroid dysfunction to be having this kind of unwanted hair. Conversely, at the office I went to in New York, they told me that I really didn’t have very much hair at all and that there was no indication of anything out of the ordinary. Sorry, was that TMI? I guess if you are reading this you’re not squeamish about unwanted hair…
The price, however, is very competitive ($ 25 for 15 minutes). Most places anywhere else charge much more. I have very little regrowth after only one session.
