I love this store. I first became aware of them because they have you tube videos demonstrating some of their products. When I went there, I was so impressed with how helpful the staff and owner are in answering questions. No question is too stupid to ask. You need information about sticks? No problem. You want some information about cymbals? No problem. You want to find out about what the difference between this drum set and another one? No problem. I eventually bought some used hi hats, and extremely happy with them. I support these guys 200%. I love the fact there is an alternative to Guitar Center. I highly recommend you check these guys out.

When my mom told me a drum store opened in Acton by Nara Park off Route 27, I was puzzled and assumed the owner was nutso or had terrible business sense. As it turns out, I was COMPLETELY wrong. Boston Drum Center(BDC) started off as a warehouse with premium equipment for the pro-level market, but in the summer of 08 converted into a full retail location outside of Boston because serious musicians don’t want to deal with guitar center and don’t mind traveling a little ways for superior quality and service. Since ’08 it has grown in popularity, and is probably the best drum shop in MA. BDC carries a variety of harder to find brands, including DW, Sonor, Gretch, and Taye kits, as well as Meinl, Istanbul Agop and Mehmet, Zildjian and Sabian, and DREAM cymbals, which are new, inexpensive, and sound great. BDC is a direct distributor, which means that you wont pay more here than you would at Guitar Center. And instead of high pressure salesmen with pinky rings and globs of hair gel, you get unbelievable personal service. It’s so quiet and welcoming, and if you have a question, it gets answered quickly, warmly, and completely. Sean, the owner, has a startling wealth of knowledge, and is more than happy to share it. Whenever I get a new drum head, he masterfully tunes it without blinking an eye. He even answers direct, e-mails about technical problems or help identifying older drums based on badges. He also brings in some amazing talent for advanced clinics that can’t be missed. When I come here, it’s like entering a magical candy store. I can confidently say that this is the premier specialty drum shop in the MA area. When I stop by, I intend to stay for five minutes tops to check out a cymbal or quickly buy a pair of sticks, but my mind shuts off and I lose control. I promise it’s worth the trip. It’s just one of those unique, can’t miss shops.
