Calico Corners, Acton, MA One star, with an F grade. this is why: I purchased Roman Shades for two rooms in my house from Calico Corners 9 years ago. I have been very happy with my shades, the only thing that I am very disappointed with Calico Corners is they have no one to repair the shades after they have been installed. Two of my shades broke about a month ago and I called Calico Corners to have them repaired. I spoke to a man, and first he told me that I was not in their system because it has been 9 years, and that Calaco Croners does not save that information. So, I paid a visit to the show room in Acton, Ma. to set up an appointment to have someone come out to FIX two of my very long Roman Shades. It turns out that I was in their system, the woman at the store pulled up my order and printed it out. I was told that it would take a FEWWEEKS before someone could come out to take the Roman Shades down at a cost of 70 dollars. Then I was told the shades would be shipped back to the manufacturer in order to get fixed and that this would take an additional FEWWEEKS because the roman shades would have to be restrung. Then, once the show room receives them back, then it would take another FEWWEEKS to have them reinstalled. Total cost: 70 dollars to take the shades down, I don’t know what it would cost to fix and restrung, then another 70 dollars to have them reinstalled. Total time to repair and reinstall: six to nine weeks. I felt like they couldn’t have cared less, since it had been 9 years ago that I brought them. This type of service is not acceptable. Not to mention that the guy in the store actually said«well that was purchased in 2005.» With a statement like that it seems clear to me that Calico Corners DOESNOT stand behind their past customers. Calico Corners is in the business of selling window treatments, but offers no service to fix them in your home. You could wait for someone to come and take the shades down, and then wait some more for them to be fixed, and then wait again to have someone reinstall them. So I went online to research why the roman shades weren’t working. I found out that the shades needed a new clutch, so I ordered two of them. I received the two clutches in 4 days. Then I went on YouTube to find a demonstration on how to install the clutch on the drapes. I am happy to say my roman shades are working again, and it only cost me 55 dollars, including shipping. A great website for parts is , or Fix My Blinds. Oh, and it only took me ONEHOUR to put on the two clutches and reinstall my Roman Shades, and best of all, the Roman Shades DIDNOT have to be restrung! So be forewarned, if you do choose to buy your window treatments at Calico Corners, just know that they will probably not service your window treatments in your home if you ever need them to be repaired. My advice is find a store that has someone that can fix your window treatment in your home. Calico Corners, you get grade of a big F, shame on you!
