This is a two-part review. First, long overdue but we brought JR in as a second bidder for chimney repair as we were having a smoke leak. First bidder essentially wanted to tear out walls and rebuild chimney from scratch(in a 10 yo house) and Chimney Saviors fixed the problem in a morning with no more smell of smoke. We brought them back to a house we were remodeling in Highland Park in Fall/Winter 2015. I am not exaggerating that JR made 5 or 6 trips to the house without complaint — to figure out a complicated project. Installation went great and he also chose perfect gas logs/screen for us. I trust JR and Chimney Saviors. Great communicators and excellent professionals.

Very professional company. We had a lot of interior damage in our fireplace. They came out and fixed everything. They were extremely clean and I am very happy with their work. They also provided a ten year warranty. Money well spent.

I am selling my house and received the chimney estimation conducted by Richard. The buyers used the estimation to request for credit. From the items listed on the repair report, I felt that the total cost was a little high. The chimney has been in working condition and I was pretty sure the repair should be minor. I called Richard to get more information of his estimation. He did not address my question nor disclose more details. He said the buyer paid the inspection and I need to obtain authorization first. Which makes sense, however, he was quite arrogant over the phone and insisted that this is industry specialty. and that I would not understand it even though he explain to me what the fix will be. Further more, if the fire get out of chimney from the crack, it may cause fire hazard to the house. MY agent sent me a document and tried to ask us to agree on the credit requested. I decided to get a second opinion for the chimney repair. I hired a reputable local company. It turned out that the estimation from Chimney Saviors is THREE times higher. I am lucky because I get my own estimation before I sign the document. Always get a second opinion.

Great service! Great work! Great guys. This review is loooooong overdue. Last year, they inspected my chimney during the home inspection process. After moving in, I got a second opinion, then trusted my gut and hired Chimney Saviors to do some repairs to make the chimney ready for use and safe. I’m so glad I did — these men not only fixed my 80 year old chimney but a few months later, when something came lose and I heard metal slapping metal, they came out the same day I called. They quickly found the problem and fixed it at NOCHARGE. They’re they best.

Chimney Saviors did a great job rebuilding our chimney to code, approved to burn gas or wood. Along the way they encountered several challenges and handled each one creatively for a final product that matched our overall expectations. Questions were answered, smudges, scratches and the normal wear and tear from a big job were returned to normal, and most importantly, their estimate beat two others by a significant amount.

Great service and a reasonable price from Chimney Saviors! I used this company to repair my 80 yr old chimney, and they were very accommodating, even breaking the work into 2 phases so I could spread out the expense. They showed up when they said they would and kept my house clean. Now we have a usable fireplace!

These guys are great! They came out to inspect our chimney when we were in escrow. Two other companies had quotes us $ 18K for a chimney rebuild and $ 4K to make the fireplace safe to use, but Chimney Saviors came out and quoted $ 1700 to put a coating on the chimney and restore it to workable condition. When we were ready to do the work(5 months after the initial inspection), they were available to do the job that same week. They arrived and completed the work in less than 3 hours. They provided us with a grate, a chimney cover and gas key, and even offered to patch up a crack on the exterior chimney wall on the side of the house. Even though I couldn’t find the paint, they found it and patched it up for me. The service comes with a 10 year warranty and now we have a beautifully working fireplace just in time for the Fall/winter. Highly recommend!

They asked for a fee to give an estimate, then applied that fee to the bill. I was quoted by one company almost $ 15k to fix my chimney. Chimney Saviors quoted $ 5k. They repaired the chimney in the time they estimated they would. The chimney works great! We loved making sm’ores this past winter. I could not be more pleased with my experience in dealing with them.

They never returned my initial phone call. This is usually a bad sign.

I just met Richard from Chimney Saviors at a property that has a chimney built from the 1950’s. He was on time, thorough and is the chimney inspection company that I have ever seen build a fire to see how it works. I would highly recommend him. The previous review sounds like a ranting, disgruntled employee that either works for Freddie’s Fireplaces or Chimney Savers now. Uhmmmm Chimney Savers sounds too close for comfort.

Chimney Saviors??? Saviors of FRAUD! This company LIES about the estimate going to the repair of the overall cost and RUDE when you confront them on their DISHONESTY! Chimney Saviors — Rightway Builders get you for a $ 200 dollar estimate fee and then if you only want some of the work done they don’t put it towards the cost of the work. They came out and looked at my Chimney, the father Richard Ballinger saying, he and his son run a few crews and they’re very busy. They give an inspection/estimate evaluation rebate,(their words not mine) for $ 200 dollars and if work is done they will put it towards the final cost. They came out and I wrote a check for $ 200 on 10−10−12 They were going to repair crown, clean fireplace, acid wash the outside of my chimney, put a spark arrestor/rain cap and a clean out door for a total of $ 1500. I call and leave a message to find out when they will come to start the work. I call again and leave a message. I wait and wait for a response from them to finish the job. 3 months go by. Enough time for them to cash the estimate check. I was waiting so long, during the 3 months, I decide to tuck point the cracks and acid wash the exterior with a ladder myself. What was left was the raincap, spark arrestor and clean out door. Which costs $ 400 – 500 When I call them up and leave them a message I tell them all I need is for them to do the raincap, spark arrestor and clean out door. Then he calls me back after hearing that message and says that if it isn’t over $ 1000 dollars worth of work the $ 200 dollars doesn’t go towards the work. WHAT? I said where and when did you write that down or say that? The father Richard Sr, gets belligerent on the phone and tells me that he can’t talk to someone who raises his voice and then hung up on me.(mind you I never raised my voice and was asking him to give me an affirmative date to finish the job and to still add the cost of the $ 200 estimate money) After Richard hang up… I was FURIOUS! I said keep the $ 200 dollars I’ll make sure no one else will use you your company!
