Huge portion. great time yummy food. Peaceful envorment, sweet staff, parking can sometimes be a issue (weekend breakfeast) open early, pizza phone order ready in 20 min usually priced well… love this place!!! I PLEDGE

As many of the reviews here attest, Crazy Ottos is pretty good for breakfast. The portions are large and usually the quality is fairly consistent. My favorite breakfast items here are the Hobo Eggs (similar to a skillet scramble) and the breakfast burrito (very good). Their sandwiches and fries are also quite good. My husband loves the pastrami and the tuna melt is very good.
Service here is usually pretty fair to poor and the space feels a bit odd. It is located in the corner of a strip mall, so the restaurant space is triangular and extends fairly far back. They usually keep the lights off in the back part of the restaurant (I’m assuming to discourage people from sitting back there when they aren’t busy) and this produces the feeling of eating at a place that is not really open or is about to close.
Despite all of this, my two star rating is driven by the fact that they are very unaccommodating to even the most minor special request. I recently went there for dinner and wanted to try something different. I ended up ordering a pizza. Almost everything on their menu has meat in it, which I’m sure is a great selling point for many people, but I am vegetarian. I ordered my pizza without meat and added another vegetable. Each pizza topping here is almost $ 3.00 and they would not just substitute the vegetable for the meat I had removed from the pizza (which is far more expensive for the restaurant in terms of cost). On top of this, the quantity of toppings on the pizza was laughably light, the crust was doughy and slightly sweet tasting (not in a good way), and the whole episode made me feel like I had massively overpaid for something no better than a frozen pizza.
While I clearly don’t recommend the pizza here, the larger issue is not allowing common sense «substitutions.» I realize Acton still has a meat and potatoes type of culture, but charging vegetarians and people with other dietary restrictions to make minor alterations to a meal that is not appropriate for them is poor business and counter to the «friendly neighborhood diner» quality that Crazy Ottos is going for.

Food is good, but other than large portion sizes, it is not memorable. Service is absolutely horrible. Even when they’re not busy, it’s slow, servers forget things, and inattentive.

The food here is great! For about as much as you pay for a trip to Denny’s you can get almost twice as much. The food here is to die for and the service is great! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good breakfast joint. Will be coming back as this is one of the best if not the best breakfeast joints in the AV.

I love crazy ottos!!! I especially love this location. Recently remodeled on the inside. The food is always great. The atmosphere is so welcoming and personal. I really recommend getting the quesodilla plate, & the pizza!!! Oh the prime rib! The prime rib is fantastic! Don’t forget the French Toast!

Portions are huge, tasty, hash browns are crisped just right, country fried steak was thick and juicy not greasy topped with thick gravy. Excellent

Great breakfasts except for the Popeye omelette and hobo eggs. Way too much spinach and way too wet. Everything else is spot on delicious. I need to get there back again soon.

Our family loves this place. My husband and I share the chicken fried steak, it’s plenty and it’s the best around. We try chicken fried steak where ever it’s served and we have not found everywhere better.

Went in around 11am and when we walked in were not greeted by any of the servers, after 2 minutes. Server Marianne sat us down and took really good care of us it seemed to us as she was the only one actually working (clearing tables, ringing checks, refreshing beverages, greeting guests), the rest were just relaxing. Marianne had great customer service! Food was nice and hot ordered the bacon and cheese omelette ½ w/​biscuits and gravy… Glad to see all crazy otto’s taste the same. Well worth the visit but this location needs some training in customer service!(except for Marianne)

Just finished dinner here and very disappointed with the service and food quality. This place may be good with a more experienced server or on a slower night (not a Friday) but 5 out of 7 dishes were over cooked. Our pizza took an hour and twenty five minutes to hit the table and the server said he had to defend our order from being sold out from under us (lame excuses don’t work in service). The crust was paper thin in the middle and pizza was overdone on the edge as well. The unacceptable delays, poor preparation of food, topped with poor service made this a «never coming back here» experience for myself and our local family member who found this dive diner.

Went on a Tuesday morning when it wasn’t too busy and the food was amazing! Avoid the weekends and sick to breakfast and you won’t be disappointed!
I was craving something sweet so got the french toast it was soooo good!

Sorry to say but not my favorite. «Old style» basic fare. Nothing very healthy or innovative and portions are too big. They should consider making their own bread, offering better fruit, eggbeaters and healthy substitutes.

This place is great and has big portions. The service can be slow when it gets really busy though.

This place rocks! Good eats and good people. Management/​Ownership is fantastic. Huge portions and fresh foods. I always stop here on my way up north. Next time I’m here I’ll post some pictures!

Omg have you seen the food have you taste the food great environment and Sunday breakfast is where you need to be to take in the full experience great family restaurant

What can I say about crazy ottos! We have been coming to crazy ottos every other Sunday for about three years now. The service is great and the coffee is even better. they make sure you never have and empty cup and you never leave with and empty tummy. DONNA is hands down the best server ever but the rest of the Otto family is great as well!!! Don’t forget to wear your crazy Otto shirt to get 10% per person.

This spot puts Denny’s, IHOP, Bobs Big Boys and every other places to shame

Whenever im in town i HAVE to come here for breakfast. Even when i order a half order, its still alit of food. I only hope the new location in canyon country is as good as the acton location.

I have been going to Crazy Otto’s for years. Wow can they make a serious omelet. I usually get the sausage with cheddar omelet. The portions are very large. The coffee is great. If you have not been to any of the Crazy Otto’s you have got to try it.
