Went to this shop today. All I can say is my experience was nothing short of amazing in the service and quality of product I saw and purchased

We tried to work with Findley, but I would simply recommend that if you need to have your deer processed, go to West Georgia Cooler. West Georgia does not process deer meat after January 5th, so we found Findley online. Don’t waste your money. We had to take the meat back and they«reprocessed» it because the summer sausage was mushy and tasteless. They had us try their summer sausage and it was good at the store. What they made us, twice, was nothing like what we had tasted and they gave us a batch of jalapeño sausage that was old and spoiled. $ 200 down the tubes!

After reading everyone’s reviews it appears that the only way people shop here is if they use groupon, otherwise it is a rip off. Haha! In all seriousness… I went by the shop to get some tenderloin to smoke for Christmas: 1. The workers were not friendly at all. The totally ignored me upon entering and once they finally asked if I wanted to get anything, they weren’t all that nice. 2. The meat in the coolers were brownish/green in color. I am not a professional butcher, BUT I know that good meat shouldn’t have the color it had! 3. The prices were RIDICULOUS!!! They charge TWICE the price of other stores like Kroget, Publix and 30−40% more than other speciality meat markets. I can see charging a bit more due to being a speciality shop(but only if the meat was fresh and not brown), but they are crazy overpriced!!! My best advice is this: avoid this place and drive the 20 – 30 minutes to Patak Bohemian Meats… It’s a much better option and I’ve been going there for years!

An update to my original review. With my second Groupon, the man came in with me. There was a very pleasant younger girl working the counter. She greeted us, asked us if we had any questions, etc. He decided on T-Bones. Just cooked them and they were some of the BEST steaks I’ve ever had or made. One more good visit and it’s 5 stars for me!

WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER! Steaks were rotten! The lady that sold them to me said they were cured and seasoned when I asked her if the steaks were fresh. Liar! The meat was rotten and she was selling it like it was fresh! Also, I bought a six pack of crab stuffed mushrooms… only to find mold sitting on top of two of them. I have pictures to prove it. DANGEROUS! DONOTBUYFROMTHISSHOP! Anyone that will willingly lie to sell rotten food, that can make someone sick, needs to be out of business!

Total let down. I had heard good things and even though it was way out of my way, I decided to give this place a try since there was a groupon. I bought my $ 20 for $ 10 groupon and set off to get a good deal. When I got there the disappointments started. First there was an unpleasant smell, then the meat prices were more than 2x what you pay at kroger or publix. Even with the groupon I paid about $ 10 more than I would have for the same thing at publix. Hamburger was over $ 5 a pound. No specials. I looked at the packages on the wall and none of them are a good deal if you are really price conscious. I pointed out that the prices, even with the groupon, were much higher than the grocery stores to the male attendant(who I later was told was the boss) and his response was«yeah». I would at least think he would offer some explanation for why they are charging premium prices. I wouldn’t mind paying top dollar if they were offering something better than publix. A good bit of the meat in the case was turning brown, kinda gross. But I was invested in the groupon so I went ahead and bought a few $ 16 a pound new york strips($ 13 per lb after the groupon) that I normally pay $ 8-$ 10 a pound for and went on my way. The only good thing I have to say is the blonde woman who checked me out was extremely personable. I cooked the steaks up and they were good but nothing special. I’ll stick to publix. I went to save $ 10 and it ended up costing me an extra $ 10.

Great meat but it was odd that the butcher knocked over a sign 3x, picked it up 3x, and then didnt wash his hands as he went for the register. I know you cook the meat so it’ll kill the germs… but a butcher that will touch my meat & that… will touch anything.

Very unsanitary food handling practices. The guy weighed the meat, placed it on the scale with his bare hands. He then proceeded to take payment with the same filthy hands. Violation of health codes maybe?

Went here today due paying $ 10 for $ 20 worth of food off of ! I bought Andouille Sausage, Bohemian Sausage, Deer Sausage, Brunswick Stew and a big ass snack for my Miniature Schnauzer and I was only $ 8 over my $ 20 coupon! I sampled all that minus the dog bone and was impressed! I’ll buy more meat from there soon! The staff was very friendly and cordial! The Deer Sausage is GREAT! Slice it and spray some Non-Stick Butter spray on the skillet and sprinkle some Garlic Powder on it and it’s good to go!

Unbelievable knowledge of all things meat. Just try the Jerkey. That’s how he gets you hooked. Then you realize the secret. you’ve been eating bad food all your life. Kind of a bitter sweet moment. Excellent cuts of meat, a true smoke house. Amazing cooler section that makes weekday meals a snap! Primary business is a meat company. However the also have an incredible hot bar for eating in.
