This is my family’s favorite Chinese restaurant. We drive more than 20 miles at least twice a month to eat here. The staff are like family to us. The food is awesome and the price is right!

This is an upscale Chinese restaurant with very nice ambience and excellent food for Georgia. Our service was prompt and gracious. I had a small chicken, spinach, and tofu soup for an appetizer, which was ample for $ 2.50. There are a lot of more expensive dishes, but we stuck to the $ 10.95 page of the menu. I had pork with mushrooms, and my husband had the dish by which he gauges all Chinese and Thai restaurants — sweet and sour chicken. Both were delectable. All the meet was extremely tender and the sauces nicely flavored. At the end of the meal, we were presented with orange slices, little light cake squares, AND fortune cookies. It was good enough to take my friends when they visit from New York, which is saying something.

My gauge of a good Chinese restaurant is their hot and sour soup. Hong Kong Star has very good hot and sour soup! I’ve been coming here for years and it is always an enjoyable meal.

Delivery took over an hour. Mongolian three way was overcooked. Brown sugar almost burnt taste. Noodle very mushy. Shrimp tasted like dirt, probably raised in dirty pond in China. Kung Pao Chicken was almost tasteless. We ate some, it was our dinner, but will throw away the leftovers. If you think this is the best in the area I encourage you to explore more options. There are too many choices to go back to such a poor poor restaurant.

The beef Lo Mein was one of the worst I ever had. It had no flavor and it was just a bunch of really thick noodles with no vegetables. The beef was not tender. The spring rolls were decent though.

This restaurant has a decent selection of food, is decorated nicely and that’s pretty much all I can say that is good about it. We ordered shrimp rolls, spring rolls, egg foo yong, General Tso Shrimp, sautéed vegetables and shrimp fried rice. Being from the north(Michigan), I can honestly say that even the most mediocre Chinese food restaurant in Michigan is stars above this place. Starting with the rolls, the stuffing tasted like sauerkraut– literally like sauerkraut was put in it and in the shrimp ones one large shrimp. They were over-fried and nearly burned, and so so brittle. Sautéed vegetables might as well have been a soup. The vegetables had no crunch left to them, and were swimming in sauce which was overly fishy. Fishy will be a theme from here on out– as everything else we ordered tasted so overly fishy and drenched in fish sauce that it lingered on your breath as bad as someone who ate whole cloves of garlic. We couldn’t stand ourselves because we could not get the smell off even if we downed a bottle of listerine. The General Tso’s shrimp was nicely fried and held up in the sauce it was in, the vegetables in it were also slightly better, however again it was so heavily fishy smelling. Shrimp fried rice was pathetic. The rice was horrible in texture and taste, and the shrimp smelled horrible. The egg foo yong looked appealing with the noodles and vegetables you could see in it, but tasted like pure fish. Fish! I think someone confused the fish sauce for oil. If this is the best Chinese restaurant in Acworth, then that is not saying much because this place would never survive in Michigan or New York for the demographic it caters to. A horrible experience and overly priced($ 55 for everything we ordered). Definitely will not be ordering from here again.

Good food, I got the Mongolian beef and loved it. Crab Rangoon is good also. Service was pretty slow, but I their defense we were a large table and another large table was sat after us. I would definitely go back but maybe just get take out.

Great food. Some of the best chinese around — and they deliver. It’s a little pricey but the food quality makes up for it.

Great gem of a Chinese restaurant in Acworth. It seems that the same staff is always working. They are always gracious and welcoming. We have never had a bad experience here. Highly recommended.

This is the best chinese restaurant I have found in the Acworth/Kennesaw area. I always place my order over the phone for delivery and they are always polite and get my order correct. They give me an estimated time of delivery, and they are always either right on time or early, which I love. Today some friends and I ordered the chicken lo mein, kung pao beef, sweet and sour pork, and steamed dumplings. We got it under the lunch special, so each dish came with rice, an egg roll, and soup. For soup, we got egg drop and wanton soup. Everything was so delicious! The delivery man was early, everything was piping hot, the order was correct, and as a plus, the delivery man looked like Shang from Mulan. The total for everything, including the tip we gave, was $ 37 and some change. It’s a great price considering the amount you get and the great customer service. I also really love the containers they put everything in, especially the soup. You can toss it in the dishwasher when you’re done and reuse it. I will definitely keep ordering from this place!

Perhaps tonight was not a good night to have a dinner at Hong Kong. It took about 5 minutes to be greeted because a host was not present. This should have been our Q to go elsewhere! Then we were seated and we waited and waited and waited before we were asked for our drinks. It took a while to get the drinks and another while before we saw our server again. Then it took some more time for our server to take our order. Once the order was placed we received the soup, the appetizer and dinner not too far apart but the meal was not served with the rice and so again we had to wait about 5 minutes before we received the rice to complement our meal. The egg roll was good, crab Rangoon was good but it was not crispy. The rice had the flavor as if the batch had been burned. The items pictured all had good flavor but we arrived at 6:15 and were served at 8:15. The two hour wait killed our appetite. We couldn’t finish it. Serving size was good. We left by 8:30 even though we were tempted to leave a number of times before the meal was served. There was not enough staff which resulted in rushed, delayed or sloppy service. The level of service was disappointing. We paid $ 16.95 for our meals. Managment should have more staff especially for a Friday night. We typically take HK to go. It’s the best option in my book.

Great food! Excellent customer service! It’s worth the 15 min northbound drive! Had the General Tso’s Chicken and it was AMAZING! A good helping too! Took me 2 days to eat it all. The restaurant is very clean and classy looking. Didn’t seem to have any language barriers either.

I have been searching for good Chinese since I moved to the state of Georgia. This restaurant has by far the best Chinese I’ve had since moving to the south! I highly recommend. Wonderful atmosphere, clean restaurant & reasonable prices. A++++

Boyfriend brought me here for date night, as I’d never heard of the place before. He assured me I’d like it, he knows me so well :) The inside is a little cushy and the menu has an excellent selection of dishes. It was hard for me to decide, which is weird with me and chinese food. I just wanted to try all the things! eeeeep! We had dinner and drinks and sat the night away talking. What a relaxing, fun evening. The food came served perfectly: your entrée comes on a dish and rice as a side so you can serve the food onto your plate or share with your companion. Good portion sizes, very tasty spice level. General Tso’s chicken came with large pieces in a zesty sauce, my boyfriend was pleased. My Mongolian beef was perfect. I’d love to come back and try a new dish. Give it a go!

I was out and about running errands one afternoon and decided that I was going to pick up some Chinese to take home for lunch. Since I was already passing by, I chose to go inside and order and just wait for it. The dining room is large, open, clean, and was mostly empty on this afternoon. I was greeted by a gentleman who pointed me towards the bar area to place my to-go order. I’m pretty predictable when it comes to ordering Chinese takeout. It’s almost always going to be Mongolian Beef. And that was my choice on this day. The guy who took my order looked as if he was probably the manager or the owner. He was a very nice guy — advising me of their lunch specials and what was included. After placing my order I grabbed a spot at the bar to wait. I couldn’t have been sitting any longer than about 10 minutes before my order was ready. So kudos for being prompt. But that’s about where the good ends. Oh wait, they have some tasty tasty crab rangoons. Unfortunately, the hot and sour soup was mostly lukewarm and bland. And the Mongolian Beef was about 90% onions and cellophane noodles and 10% beef. Talk about pissed. I knew I shouldn’t have strayed from my beloved Mini Stop. Learned that lesson and won’t make that mistake again.
