Tried the rice IPA sharkbait and it was a tasty beer, was here on a Tuesday evening, they had 1 guy working the whole deal, he did a great job for being alone. Good beer, decent atmosphere. Would come back if in the area, but wouldn’t go out of my way to return.

I stopped here with my husband during our never-ending quest to try all the breweries in and around Grand Rapids. It’s off the beaten path and a little tough to find, so keep your eyes open! It’s a real small place, with only about six seats at their corner bar. They’ve also got a few tables. The bartender was friendly but not well-versed in the offerings. She admitted being new and not knowing much about a couple beers. That wasn’t a good first impression. We tried all five beers they had. A couple were pretty good, one was decent and the other two were not good at all. They tasted very young, like they were rushing the process. I wouldn’t completely write Gravel Bottom off if you’re trying to conquer GR breweries but I personally probably wouldn’t stop in again. There are better, more consistent breweries I’d rather stop at. Sidenote: if you’re a homebrewer, there is a supply store inside Gravel Bottom for you to get all your supplies. Prices were comparable to what you’d find at most online outlets like Northern Brewer or .

Such a love hate relationship I have developed with this brewery. Every few months they have a whole selection of new beers. You fall in love, you crave the new beer, you think about the new beer all the time. The skilled blending, the unique ingredients, the layering of flavors. But then a few months later your love is gone and a whole new menu of beers is up. You curl in a ball, you cry, you can’t sleep or eat, you look at pictures of you and your beer. Finally you break down and try the new beers. You fall in love, never has a beer been so good! It so unique, so perfect. This is like reliving your first high school crush over and over again! I will never get over the Girl Scout cookie beers… ever!!! Best damn beer I have ever had.

Great place to while away your time. Come with some friends to drink some great beer and relax. The have a stack of board game in the corner so if you don’t want to sit and talk you can always play a game.

Stopped here late afternoon yesterday and was amazed how busy this place was. 6 beers on tap and all of them were very good. One of the owners took our order and told us a little about each beer. Very friendly guy who makes you feel at home. Will definitely go back again.

Such a laid back atmosphere, it reminds me of sitting in the Brickstone Brewery in tiny Copper Harbor, Michigan. Only five beers on tap, but all were solid. The Russian Imperial Stout was excellent. Easy parking, quaint and excellent beer. This is how it might have been 100 years ago in small town America with local breweries that you have to visit in person or you don’t get to drink their beer. I’ll be back very soon.

Fantastic brew pub and supply house! All their craft brews have so much character and development in them. Your sure to find something you like in their ever changing line up of selections. Their stock on brewery supplies is the best this side of GR, always fresh and clean. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great place to spend some time hanging out and enjoy excellent beer. Inside and outside seating available. Food /snacks are encouraged to be brought in from any of the local nearby food type places.

Great Brewery the only drawback is that they don’t have food. I like the laid back atmosphere they had going on there.

Terrible service. I sat at the bar for five minutes in an empty house and couldn’t get help. They blew it for me.

Super cool craft beer bar. You can order food from local restaurants and have it delivered. The beers are all great. They have 2 guitars that you can play, and one of the bartenders plays the harmonica so you may be treated to some great music. If Jamie is there for drinks you have to ask him to play and sing it was awesome last night

Really, Gravel Bottom does deserve five stars! Especially, after they took the time to post on how they could improve themselves in to getting the extra star! We’ll done guys, well done!

Wonderful start up brewery!!! I have yet to be let down by any of their beers. Also, they have been extremely helpful on the brewery supply store side. A definite must for Michigan Brew lovers!

I have only been here once so far. I am going again today. The first visit was enjoyable because not only was the beer good but the owner was knowledgable and friendly. My wife and I sat at the bar and he shared some interesting tales with us. I will add more details after today’s visit
