We called late when our booking at Super 8 in Ankeny was cancelled because they didn’t take pets even though the reservation operator said nothing of the sort. We ended up driving an extra 50 miles, but it was well worth it! This place was clean, quiet and comfortable. Just the thing for weary travelers. The owners/staff were friendly and didn’t seem to mind at all our late arrival. The halls smelled a bit of smoke, but the smoke free room was satisfactory.

* Clean? Clean! * Comfortable? Comfortable! * Convenient? Convenient! * Courteous? Courteous! * Quiet? Quiet! * Costly? NO! Not costly, not dirt cheap: $ 78ish slept two the night we passed through. Easy exit off I-80, convenient to everything you need on a road-trip: food, fuel and an ice-cream treat. Even the Choice? Choice! of two kinds of heat in your room(I find those window units are usually inhospitably noisy, so we opted for electric heat via the wall control. Breakfast was quick and tasty and Complimentary? Complimentary! But is there Cable? Cable! HB O yes and free wi-fi because I’m sure you’re going to ask about that next. You can tell me all you want«no Super 8» is worth five stars and I will tell you that I’ve stayed at «resorts» and«small luxury hotels» and«pish posh etc» places that are worthy of two stars, so in its category ~ this was a super five-star Super 8 experience. Capiche? Capiche! Now quit asking questions. Get back on the road!

A great place to stop and have a snooze while driving along highway 80. Nothing special(except make your own waffles in the morning!) Good Wi-Fi, clean rooms and the largest room I’ve ever had in a road side motel. The owner was a little aggressive, asking us several times why the pet fee wasn’t paid for the night before when we had checked in(We were traveling with Search and Rescue servied dogs,) but he eventually let it go.

When driving cross country some times you start to get very sleepy when you are literally in the middle of no where Iowa. It’s times like this when it is lovely to see a clean friendly Super 8 on the side of the road. This one happens to be run by a very friendly and kind Indian fellow(as in from India) who runs a tight ship. The rooms aren’t new by any means, but they are rigorously clean. The free breakfast was sufficient enough to power us up in the morning and get us going. No bug trouble or anything weird– it was exactly what we needed. great times!
