Great thin crust pizza! The Bomber was awesome. Clean, neat place, friendly, fast staff. Not far off interstate 80.

Wow. Drive a mile off the highway to come to this place. I can’t believe how good it looks. They even have beer. Just saw a dessert pizza. I might have to have it.

Can’t beat it. I live in Des Moines where everyone raves about Fongs Pizza. This place blows it out of the water.

Don’t know how you could rate this place less than 5 full stars. Been here a few times now and have tried a few of their specialty pizzas. They have all been excellent! You cannot go wrong here. The pizza crust(we always get the regular — not the pan) is perfect. The various toppings are wonderful. They have two pages of specialty pizzas as well as design your own with a large selection of toppings. I would put Zipp’s up against any pizza place in Des Moines, seriously. The staff is very friendly and work to make the experience truly delightful. I cannot say enough good things about Zipp’s. Definitely worth a trip to Adair. Guy Fieri needs to find this place.

We rolled into Adair late the night before Thanksgiving. We stumbled into Zipps and had a pizza which they fixed for us even though they were closing. They also invited us to sit at the bar and eat even though they were closing up. Real nice after a long day of travel. No skimping here on the pizza and the crust was perfect. Thin crust, the best I have ever had. Get the thin crust. Got my vote on this one!

Great pizza, had the bomb and cheese bread. Beer was cold! Owners stopped to chat and were working, love that. If I’m spending my hard earned money there, they are working for it. We will be back, take a nice drive from DSM. We have had many people tell us to stop, well worth it. It was!

Stopped at this place for supper while traveling cross country on I-80. Wow! What a pleasant surprise! The place was busy, but line moved fast and was worth the wait. We had a thin and a pan pizza and both were great, but pan was our favorite. The locals said everything there was great food. Hidden gem in a small town with neat brick streets.

Very cute little restaurant with great pizza! I love the look of this place, wood floors, brick walls, very cool! My hubby and I had a basic pizza, onions, peppers, homemade garlic sausage, yum! My kid had the kids’ sausage slice, loved it. Very popular place, be prepared for a bit of a wait if you go at dinner time on a Saturday night. Can’t wait to go back!

Zipp’s is located in Adair, Iowa about 15 minutes from my hometown in Exira. As a result, it’s a go-to for my family and I whenever we get together back home. Having grown up in a small town, I’m usually skeptical about local takes on pizza — especially in light of the fact that if you ask many people what their favorite pizza is, the answer is far too frequently Casey’s Carry-Out. However, Zipp’s is the real deal. I may be biased, but I would put Zipp’s up against any of the better pizza places in DSM. Crust is clearly homemade and is the perfect medium-to-thin thickness as well as having the right amount of crisp and chew. All of the sausages(the last I checked there were at least two offerings — Italian and garlic) are all made in-house and are very good. And the cheese — oh, the cheese. No mozzarella here — the owners insist on using lots of high-grade provolone and it makes all the difference in the world. After having talked pizza with the owner a few times, it’s obvious he has passion for the business and has done his research trying pizza all over the country and perfecting his own recipe of what makes a near-perfect pie. Zipp’s is special because no corners are cut and everything is homemade from the ground up — crust, sauce, sausage, etc. While the drive out from DSM might take 45 minutes, it’s something I’ve done on a number of occasions just for the pizza. I would recommend calling ahead or following Zipp’s on Facebook to make sure they will be open the night you plan to go. One last thing — try the ‘Ol Smiley baked potato pizza named after Adair’s trademark yellow smiley face water tower. I usually hate novelty pizzas, but this one is a genuine stunner.

Great pizza with wonderful fresh ingredients. The gluten free crust was amazing. It’s worth the short drive off Interstate 80.

The pizza is great — nice crust and fantastic flavor. Only problem is that it is very pricy for what you get.
