Good Mexican food and nice ambiance. Not Cuban, the self proclaimed«cuban dishes are not authentic. They name stuff on the Cuban menu that doesn’t really exist and Cubans don’t like mayo on their steak sandwiches. Stick to the Mexican food, Cuban sandwich needs help, if you can’t do it right don’t do it at all. I’m hoping they can get it right, all it takes is a trip to little Havana in Florida for research.

Don’t get me wrong, the food was good. I ate the steak taco dinner(with rice and beans) plus some of the chips and salsa they put out on the table. My hubby got the same thing except beef tacos instead of steak. Upon returning home I started experiencing the worst stomach cramping imaginable and came down with a horrible case of food poisoning. I was back and forth to the bathroom vomiting from 9pm — 3am, couldn’t even stomach water. Hubby on the other hand felt perfectly fine so it must have been either the steak or the additional salsa’s I used on my tacos. Unfortunately, this experience killed my taste for Mexican food altogether.

I use to go here years ago, my Wife start asking to go here after 2 or 3 visit(she is not Mexican food lover at all) Well, tonight after a movie marathon at nearby Cinema we went to Amadas, I ordered Chimichanga the portion is huge, food is delicious. Hey there was a small problem, It was Karaōke night, 2 security guy for such a small place and super loud speakers beside not very good(read it awful) singers made my Chimichanga eating past like F1 driving to just run out. I will definitely return but Friday and Saturday nights is a No No for me. Happy karaōke night Folks

I absolutely love love love their salsa. Great mexican food and amazing prices. Today I had the cuban sandwich. So freaking good! I used to come here often about 10 years ago when I worked close. I brought my husband today and he loved it also. Lunch specials are great!

I had never had anything like it! I love this mexican grill because it has a great qualaty of service. The waiters are really nice and I loved how the chicken noodle soup was made. I love going to amadas because it nakes me want to come back to this place over and over again this place is a five star rating because it has a kind of service that makes me fell confertible here with the service they have here. I would tell people to come here on a rainy day. come here please give tips too

I enjoy eating here, the cuban sandwich is pretty good. We had a staff lunch here a few months ago and everyone loved their dish.

Just left with a full belly and a take-home box and I’m counting down the time until i have room to eat the leftovers. I tried the Cuban sandwich and the Cuban sampler platter because i wanted to try all of my favorites. LOVED the sandwich. I had to practically fight my boyfriend for some of the empanada, and the tostones tasted just the way I remember being homemade. There was no shortage of food that I’ve seen complaints about, everything was flavorful, and I actually found the décor to be kind of charming. My only complaint was that i wanted more of the complimentary salsa that came before the meal. Probably one of the best salsas I’ve ever had, and I’m pretty picky about salsa. I will definitely be back many, many times.

Was here on a Friday night with my family and we didn’t like the services at all. First of all we had to wait to be seated and waited for the l waitress to put tables together for 9 people. Right away they came to get the orders for our drinks and about 5 min later they came to take our big order. It looked like the waitress didn’t like her job, she didn’t smiled at all. We waited about 20 min for our food. They finally came with the food and it was messed up. My boyfriend order a shrimp fajita dinner, he was half way done and he found a curly hair and it was none of our hair because we don’t have curly hair, my sister in law order a Cuban sandwich and it was so salty, we mention to the waitress that we found a hair she DIDNOT apologize and just took the plate away and they stilled charged us full price for the plate. I DONTRECOMMENDTHISPLACEUNLESSYOUWANTHAIRINYOURFOOD.

I have been coming to this place for about three years. Me and my husband come here at least once a week, but we have been known to visit up to three times a week. After a playing with the menu I was able to come up with the perfect dish.(Chiles rellenos dinner) I was born and raised in Costa Rica. I require white rice and black beans in each of my meals and the staff at amadas had no issue accommodating that. The staff is friendly and very approachable. I don’t get how people say their food is bland. Food there is flavorful but not over salted maybe that’s what they mean by bland. The place isn’t much to look at… but what they lack in appeal they make up with big flavor and delicious food.

I never had a cuban sammich before, and they got it here! My deflowering was rather gentle and pleasant. I can’t compare any cuban sandwiches, since this is my first one, but it was rather tasty. I really liked the bread of the sandwich… it was extremely delicious. I also ordered the King burrito, which for the size, was more like«prince» — small and not big at all. I guess«King size» is subjective, but there was nothing especially big about this burrito. It also was somewhat bland — the chicken was dry and there was a lot of rice and lettuce. But overall, an OK burrito… just don’t call it King please BATHROOMREVIEW: Located near the back, the bathrooms were somewhat dingy. It had that bathroom smell(clorox? ammonia? I dont know) but its good to know they clean it. Sit or squat? Squat

We ventured to Amada’s on a whim. Well, our first thought was Chipotle, but we were feeling a tad more adventurous. Plus, there’s always Chipotle. We ordered the Cuban Sandwich($ 6) to share. He got the Chicken Burrito($ 5) and I got the Avocado Burrito($ 5). The burritos were listed as «King,» so we assumed they’d be larger than standard. Sadly that wasn’t the case. They were good — ingredients were fresh and they didn’t overload on fillers like rice or lettuce. I took 1⁄3 of mine home, but honestly could have probably polished the thing off. The Cuban Sandwich?! Sooo goood: crusty toasted bread, sliced beef, pork, mustard, and pickles… mmm. It was the first time we’d had one, and it was both of our favorites. Thank goodness my +1 shares, or I’d have fought him over the last piece! Service was ok. The bathrooms were a bit dingy. The $ 17 pre-tip bill was A-OK; I just wish I had more burrito. Still, it was a good deal and a good deviation from the«Mexican» McDonald’s fare we had originally decided on. I’d try them again.

The food was ok, service too slow, and the drinks tasted like tonic water for the most part. Would not come back here, even if I was drunk.

When I want Mexican, I want a little bit of the«ay! ay! ay!» liveliness with it, which usually means a margarita too. Amada’s was a bit of a let down. The interior is dark, but not in a sexy mood lighting kind of way — it was more like being in someone’s basement with a few random lights illuminated, with the blinds/curtains closed. Some of the booth seats were beat up too, with duct tape covering the busted seams. Then, I took a punch to the gut — the waiter told us there was no drink menu! He said they could still make margaritas though. I had a traditional margarita, on the rocks. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either. The«bar» is tucked into the counter, with only 1 or 2 stools. Since I was stuffed from the first three stops on Ericka A.‘s taco tour, I said«no mas tacos!» and wanted dessert instead. Myself and a few others were excited to see fried ice cream on the menu. Then the waiter told us they were out of fried ice cream. Say it ain’t so! I ordered the Tostones, but they were dry and lacked flavor. The Croquetas were very good — how could they not be? It involves cheese and deep frying. ‘MERICA. Or should I say, CUBA. I think Amada’s could benefit from fixing up the interior and expanding their bar options. After leaving Amada’s, I didn’t feel so much like salsa dancing or belting out La Bamba. I just wanted to take a nap.

I quite enjoyed Amada’s Café! Thanks to my homie Ericka A. for organizing a taco crawl so I got to try this cool casual restaurant out. Amada’s has an overabundance of parking and early on a Saturday evening it was pretty desolate. The lighting was way too dark inside. Use your natural light Amada’s! The blinds were all closed making it seem like it was 9 at night inside, when really it was über bright & sunny outside at 5pm. Lighting was a bit too romantic for me! I was determined to have a delicious beer and the menu listed domestic drafts at $ 3.50 and international drafts at $ 4. I asked what was on draft and was sad I only had three choices — a Modelo, Dos Equis or a Miller/Bud Lite brew, can’t remember which. International draft it is! I had a tasty Modelo Draft and was pretty happy with the serving size. Croquetas — Yes Yes Yes!!! I got a nice little plate full of these little guys filled with ham & cheese and I loved these. I thought they were perfectly deep fried, served warm & toasty with the most amazing complimentary slightly spicy sauce. Just $ 3.50 for an appetizer size portion of 4 of the little guys. If for nothing else, I’ll be back for these scrumptious bites. Platanos Maduros — Cuban restaurant staple. This makes a perfect dessert in my eyes. Sweet, fried plantains! They may have had some brown sugar on the outside but the thing about maduros is they themselves are sweet even without any additional seasoning. I thought Amada’s did this side dish quite well and for just $ 3.50! I have zero idea what the sauce was served with them, but I kept on dipping the pseudo bananas right in there, nomz Desserts were a bit of a disappointment. They were out of deep fried ice cream! I ordered the pastel chocolate for $ 3.50 and found it to be dry though it was insanely chocolatey. Those are some calories I’m quite regretting indulging in. Honestly, I think Amada’s should make their menu more Cuban centric and ditch the Mexican fare. I only had a couple of items off the Cuban menu but man were they good! Not to mention, there is a severe lack of lugares Cubanos in the suburbs.

My favorite place for chicken flautas in the area. The rest of the food I’ve tried is above average. Surprisingly they have good drink specials throughout the week. Not your typical idea of a place to grab a drink, but you can’t beat the prices.

I love this restaurant for many reasons. The food is good, I agree with some reviews that some of the food is bland, but you also have to order the right stuff! From the small Cuban menu I recommend the Ropa Vieja, papa rellena, fried bananas, and the Cuban Sandwich. From the regular menu I recommend the Enchiladas de Mole, Carne a la Tampiqueña, or the El Presidente dish. For dessert, the choco-flan is amazing! I don’t recommend wasting money on drinks because they do add very little alcohol. Chips and salsa are ok, the salsa is very watery and bland, so don’t fill up on that before getting your dish! The only reason why I didn’t give it five stars is… the service… is…so…slow. It’s not bad, but when you’re starving it’s a nightmare. All in all, give this place a try!

Well rounded menu with plenty of Mexican & Cuban choices. I’ve been here a handful of times & never had a bad meal. Nothing amazing, but just good home cooked food. The service is quick & no-nonsense. They also don’t mind separate checks which is always a plus for the work lunch groups. The chips and salsa they bring to the table is good as well, but the chips are the dense/harder kind, not the thin kind, if that’s something you care about.
