This is a great place to log a few miles or bring the kids to work out their energy. There’s a nice playground, baseball/soccer fields and a tennis court. They say the paved loop is a mile, but my GPS always comes up a bit short of that. For such a nice path, you’d think they would maintain it throughout the year. Right now, it’s impassable at various points, negating its main selling feature as a running destination. Also, it’s not well-lit, so evening or early-morning miles are out of the question.

Just found a water fountain here! And there’s even a shorter dog water fountain. Excellent upgrade.

Centennial Park has a lot to offer folks that like to be active and spend some time outdoors. There’s enough room for 3 baseball/softball games to be played at the same time as well grassy fields for soccer matches. There are also lighted tennis courts and a playground for the kiddos. The grounds are well-maintained for the most part including the pond where I have seen kids fishing. Catching anything? not so sure, but it’s nice to see parents and kids enjoying a quiet morning or afternoon casting off. There is just one covered shelter area for a group to gather and picnic/barbecue as well as benches throughout the park if you just want to relax. The walking/jogging trail is fairly flat and runs along the edge of the park. The only negative is that there aren’t a lot of trees so if you happen to run on a particularly sunny day, there isn’t any shade to give you respite from the sun. So use your sunblock. All in all a nice park for active folks, dog walkers and kids.
