Ambiance left a bit to be desired. Empty and quiet. However, the food and service were both fantastic. The server recommended I order my pasta with their homemade pasta. So glad I did… it was totally worth it! Yummy!!!

As a real Italian, I must admit that the menu was impressive and tasty! A few wines to choose from were adequate, especially if you want by the glass. The staff really wants you to enjoy your visit. Worth visiting.

When we arrived on a Friday evening(relatively early), the dining room was pretty empty. As we’ve been on the hunt for our«go-to» Italian restaurant and have ran into many misses, I started worrying that this was going to be another Italian failure! But luckily, this dinner hit it out of the park. The restaurant seems like a small family place, definitely no frills, with dim lighting, great for a date night. We ordered the crab claws for a small appetizer and a pasta dish each — me, the shells with a tomato cream sauce and him, the linguine with meat sauce. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic! If you’re looking for pasta with a thicker sauce that coats the noodle(none of the watery sauce business), then this is the place for you! Perfectly seasoned, not too sour, nor too sweet. On top of this, the service was great. The owner is a sweet man who constantly came by to check on our dinner.

My friend and I randomly came to this place on a week night for a late dinner. Really nice candle-lit ambience and good amount of seating. Even though in hindsight it’s a «pasta» place we decided to get a pizza to share. The pizza was pretty mediocre. We ordered the black olive, anchovy, and mozz pizza. It was good but not great. The anchovies were REALLY salty; I realize that they’re supposed to be but I felt like the flavor combo didn’t quite work. However, I will say that the ambience and size of the pizza made it perfect for sharing an intimate evening with a friend or date. The waitress was nice and accommodating.

We ended up at Momo’s on a rainy Sunday night. We were delighted by the kind service and delicious Italian food. There is a lot of competition in the area and it is clear by the parking lot and numbers in the restaurant that Momo’s doesn’t get enough credit and may(in some respects) live in the shadows of others. A las, the food was great– portions were large– the bread that was brought out pre meal was piping hot and fresh. To be honest, if you are looking for true Italian I would think this must be pretty close. Overall– great service, good food, and we didn’t wait for a table(we would have waited over 45 minutes at neighboring Italian restaurants)

I tried the salmon and expected much better for the $ 24 price of the dish. They killed my salmon… it was so dry I had a hard time finishing. I got my protein and veggies… but will not return since no chef should ever serve a piece of fish that overcooked. I’ve had better salmon in a diner!

Excellent Italian food. After having been to run of the mill a days so claimed Italian restaurants, Momos came across as a pleasant surprise. The pasta was delicious. It was one of the best penne pastas that I have eaten in a long time. The place itself is unassuming and tucked away in a corner. But the food and service is just perfect. And the dessert, Tiramisu was also just absolutely delicious. Will be back a days I strongly recommend this place.

The service was great but the food was so so but most Italian restaurants here in TX are. What passes for Italian is pretty bad. I sometimes want to tell places like Momo’s to take a trip up North and learn how it’s really done.

I can go 3.5 stars for this place. We ended up here quite by accident after intending to eat elsewhere in Addison. I had eaten at the location on Knox many years ago and remember it as authentic and flavorful. We arrived on a Saturday night about 6:30 and there were only two other tables occupied. One of the couples was getting ready to leave, so it was just us and one other table. I started with a Caesar salad and it was good but not great. Too much dressing. I don’t understand why restaurants in Dallas think that too much dressing is a good thing. For my entrée I ordered the linguine with bolognese sauce. The dish was good, but I thought that there would be more meat sauce. It was rather pricey at $ 15.95 although I could not finish it all. The wife had the mediterranean salad and she said it was ok but not great. She ordered gnocchi in gorgonzola sauce because she always wanted to try gnocchi($ 15.95). They were ok, but the texture really became off-putting as you work your way through the dish. The gnocchi have a weird mouth feel and it is like eating a mouth of dough. She did not get any potato, but I suppose that would be mushy too so the whole textural experience was weird. Our service was fine, nothing to complain. The ambience is relaxing and casual. The noise level is very low. With a drink, salads, entrees, tax and tip you are looking at a $ 70 dinner. I did not quite feel that the quality was up to that price, so I not sure that I would return.

Momo’s Pasta is an authentic Italian restaurant in Addison that specializes on homemade pastas, expert service, and providing a truly enjoyable experience. Those looking to break away from chains should head to Momo’s. My Overall Rating — 4 Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — Addison is a city known for many restaurants, and the one thing going against Momo’s is that sometimes I forget it’s there. Unfortunately, Momo’s is tucked away in a shopping strip, so it may be hard to find. Inside you’ll find a quaint, and homey atmosphere. It’s welcoming — not pretentious. You feel like you’ve been invited to a friend’s house, as long as you can find it. ½ Star. Service — Absolutely fantastic. Our server, and I wish I recalled his name, was absolutely phenomenal. He welcomed us in, made our family feel very comfortable, had expert command of the menu, and offered to split orders so that we could share and eat family style. This type of customized service comes from experience, and no doubt there was plenty here. 1 Star. Food — Momo’s is a true Italian restaurant. You would find dishes that rely on overly salty tomato based sauces or cheese. Instead, expect homemade pastas, quality ingredients, and dishes that will leave you satisfied. We started with the excellent beef carpaccio — thinly shaved slices of beef topped with fresh radish, cucumbers, greens, and made each bite so fresh. The fresh Italian bread was used to dip in the carpaccio’s sauces so that no bite would be wasted. For my pasta, I chose the gnocchi with gorgonzola & fontadina. The pasta was tender, creating little pockets to hold the cheese blend. It was perfectly creamy without being over powering. My experience with gnocchi is limited, but I’ll go ahead & proclaim this was best gnocchi dish I’ve ever eaten. On a side note they split a child’s pasta into two plates for our young kids and each had plenty. It was a great meal. 1 ½ Star. Will I Return? — Yes. I just need to remember Momo’s is tucked in the strip. It’s really a shame too. I honestly think if they had a location near the main streets(Beltline), they could probably do very well. I guess for now they’ll be one of my secret locations of authentic Italian cuisine. 1 Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

Took my family here last minute for Father’s Day. The restaurant was not busy at all when we went. They supposed serve handmade pasta, which I can’t really verify how handmade everything is, but if you’re wanting a really unique pasta experience, this is the place to go. They have a ton of pasta items, especially for vegetarians(which is why we came in the first place) so there really is something to satisfy everyone. We ordered the brushetta and calamari for appetizers. The bruschetta was pretty large and comes with 6 pieces. The calamari was good and standard. The pasta was what really stood out. They serve so many different variations of pasta versus just your normal spaghetti and meatballs and fettuccine alfredo. I ordered the conchiglie a modo mio which I really enjoyed. However, I would say my favorite would have to be what my boyfriend ordered, the tortelli di spinaci. Everyone else enjoyed their respective dishes as well. They also serve complimentary bread that they gave us during the middle of our meal, but I wish we got it at the beginning. If you’re ever craving some good pasta, this is the place to go. To add to that, great customer service! For example, we were really cold since we were sitting right under the air vent, and when we asked to move, they said they would just turn off the AC so we wouldn’t have to move everything.

Momo’s is my favorite place! For any special occasion this is always where I choose to go. There are not many places where you can get outstanding food and service. Everything I have tried is AMAZING! Their wine selection is also great and we are always treated to healthy samples of what ever we would like to try. I really can’t say enough about this place, it’s the absolute best!

Fantastic neighbourhood Italian place with a strong focus on pasta. There was a broad selection of pasta dishes and the tiramisu I had for dessert was exceptional!

This is the perfect little neighborhood restaurant — at 6:45 pm on a Saturday evening, I was able to make a reservation for a party of 4 at 7:30 pm without any problem. The restaurant was busy but not packed, and there was no ambient music, so I could easily hear everyone in our group talking. Great choice if you actually want to have a conversation with the people you’re eating with! The service was friendly, attentive, and relaxed… so our dishes didn’t arrive quite as quickly as you might expect at a chain Italian restaurant, but I knew that was because they were making them fresh just for us. They make all of their own pasta, and it was fantastic. I had the Capelli d’ Angelo al Ragu d’ Agnello — long pasta with tender lamb and green peppers, in a white wine tomato sauce. I ordered it because I’ve never seen anything like that on a menu at a more mainstream Italian restaurant, and it wasn’t the only dish they offered that was so distinctive. I was really tempted by the spinach gnocchi, another dish I’ve never seen on a menu anywhere else. My husband had the something Momo pasta — linguine and shrimp in a slightly spicy vodka-type sauce, and it also was really delicious and unique. The bruschetta appetizer was delicious, although we might not have ordered it if we’d realized they would bring us delicious flatbread with an amazing, homemade, olive oil dipping sauce that had just the tiniest hint of spice. We were invited to have more flatbread(and we accepted) at no charge. We also started out with a couple basic salads… first one on the menu, can’t recall what it was exactly… they were quite tasty as well, with a little hint of spice/pepper. I really don’t like spicy food, but I thought it was interesting how a lot of the dishes used it in a very mild and unique way. Really enjoyed it. This is a place where you go to relax and enjoy a little slower pace of life… they’re not rushing food out, but it’s not unacceptably slow either. It was really a relaxing meal, and we lingered for quite a while(until we were one of the last few tables left) without ever feeling like they wanted us to leave. Everyone waved and thanked us from the kitchen(which is partially open to the dining area) when we finally did leave. We had an appetizer, two pasta dishes, and a house salad for about $ 45 before tip. The portions are quite ample. I’d say it’s just a teensy bit overpriced, but I’m willing to support them as a local business putting a great deal of care into their food — handmade pastas, everything freshly cooked to order, friendly service. It’s a place you really feel like could become your own little neighborhood secret where they would start greeting you by name and saving your favorite table for you, if you came often enough.

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time this past Friday night. We were both very excited and it seemed promising as they were flexible with our reservation. We were seated immediately after we walked in and our waiter seemed attentive. It sadly started to go downhill from there. After being seated and having our drink and appetizer orders taken, it took a solid half an hour for a basket of bread to make it to our table. 15 minutes after that our appetizer arrived. We had ordered the carpaccio, which was excellent. We hardly had taken the first few bites of it before our entrees arrived on top of it. At this point I started to feel rushed and uncomfortable. The waiter also forgot my boyfriend’s second beer. As for our entrees, my gnocchi was overcooked and the shrimp on my boyfriend’s risotto were not peeled. The risotto was also not very good. We’re not the types to send food back, but it wasn’t a great experience. We also tried to use a community appreciation coupon and the manager refused it, stating date stipulations that don’t exist. When my boyfriend told him we wouldn’t be back, he informed us that it was our prerogative and that it was our loss. My boyfriend also informed him that the chef should learn how to peel shrimp, as they were unpeeled, and the manager stated that it was«our problem» and«our opinion» that they were unpeeled. Sadly, had it not been for the manager’s comments regarding the shrimp I would’ve been happy to come back and give it another shot. Very disappointing experience, and I can say with regret that we will not be back.

I have been wanting to try Momo’s for some time now. I was both happy and disappointed. $ 70 Grubhub delivery order. Spinach gnocchi– great, yummy. Robust cheeses with acidic tomato sauce. Would recommend. Very flavorful. Calamari appetizer– great, good batter and red sauce for dipping. Cooked perfect even for delivery. Seafood salad appetizer– it was good and I think I expected something different. Good portion for price and tasted fresh. Fettuccine Alfredo — soooo disappointed. Lacked taste. No hint of garlic. Not creamy. Basically tasted like boiled noodles. I was so craving this. I ended up mixing the red sauce from the gnocchi in it to eat it. Very big upset for a $ 15 dish. Bread– confusingly shaped but good. I will return and hopefully improve my opinion but 3 is what you get for now since Alfredo is a staple for Italian restaurants. Sigh.

This is my favorite Italian spot in town! The décor is a bit dated and it’s definitely a smaller operation(which I honestly kind of love). I haven’t been here for lunch, nor have I been to the location on Knox, but I love love love this place for dinner! Great service and the food is authentic and outstanding. Ask for the green pesto to go with the bread — they normally serve it at lunch. It’s incredible! The beef carpaccio is a must for me every time I come. They also have a cocoa pasta dish with ham and peas in a cream sauce(I know — it sounds a bit sketch) but it is phenomenal! I have tried several other dishes here, entrée salads, steaks, chicken, fish… They have all been above my expectations. The meal prices are comparable to the many Italian chains in Dallas but the serving sizes are generous. Support a local business and get more for your money!
