Very good food. The place is kind of small inside, but its the closest to finding Cuban food in the suburbs. The service was very quick and the prices were reasonable. We split the appetizer sampler, and then I ordered the cuban sandwich with a side of arroz con gandules. I will definitely be back.

Not sure why I am writing this review because there is no way this place makes it very long. I went in for lunch and apparently the«owner» was running some errands. So here is what I noticed: The sidewalk wasn’t shoveled and was icy. The exhaust didn’t work so the café was smoky. No ice for soda or water. The girl serving had no idea what a smile or a thank you was. They didn’t have all the ingredients. I watched two of the four folks who walked in walk right back out because there was no substituting or lee way with the menu. There was no way to dry your hands in the bathroom. A simple Cuban sandwich took 20 minutes to make. And, when there wasn’t any change in the register(cash only, mind you) the girl at the counter took ten minutes running from business to business trying make change then didn’t come back with singles forcing the man at the counter to tip her when she didn’t deserve it. Must have a good cache of Cuban cigars in back so they stay open because this was awful!

Hidden gem alert. I don’t know how long Sabor Cubano has been around, but I’ve been haunting the near & far area for work lunches for many years and just found Sabor through Unilocal, and was surprised it had so few reviews. So, I’ve been to Sabor twice, both for lunch, and have only tried the sandwiches. The bread makes a sandwich great, and you can tell that Sabor has some of the freshet bread. light & flaky, even on the pressed sandwiches. The cuban sandwich is such a simple, yet complexly flavored sandwich. Done just right. The havana steak sandwich was recommended by what I would assume was the owner/chef, described as a cuban take on a philly steak sandwich. Outstanding. Wanted to try the empanadas, but weren’t available, but the croquetas were recommended in their place. excellent. I can’t wait to go back.

Delicioso! Went seeking out lechon, and we sure found it. The location is a little sketchy, but the girl working was super friendly and welcoming. Then the lechon came out and I’d have like to have licked the plate. Super super food. Place is dimly lit, modestly furnished, little hole in the wall. but whoever was in the back sure can cook. I’d really like to go back and try a sandwich.

Ok, so I’m excited that I don’t have to drive to the city for cuban food when I found out about this place. I go in for the first time and ask for«Ropa Vieja» they tell me they don’t have any! Really? It was mid-day and its a very common cuban dish. Unacceptable when a new restaurant is not prepared. Then I asked for«pastelitos de guava» and they tell me, sorry! Were out of those too! Really? I felt like walking out or saying… Then tell me what Do YOU have?! Anyway, I decided to maintain my cool and just ordered the most typical. a cuban sandwich. I’m not sure what is so difficult about making a sandwich but I was literally waiting for 30 minutes! Again Unacceptable. It was not busy at all. The sandwich was ok but definitely not worth waiting all that time. I always say work as if people are in a hurry because guess what Sabor Cubano? 9 out of 10 people are in a hurry here in America! I won’t be going back to this place. They are over priced for the mediocre service.

Definitely going back to this gem. Not many Cuban places in this area so very happy to try it out. I had the Havana steak sandwich and it was delicious! The owner was real nice and makes a killer sandwich! He plans on expanding the menu in time to include seafood, cant wait.

The food was very authentic, the ambience and the music made it a trip for me down memory lane. I loved it and you will also, give them a try. will go back again for sure. Maybe a Desayuno(breakfast) Oh yes while I was waiting the Gentleman who was cooking gave me a free Cubano coffee, very nice people. Hope they stay here.
