We ordered out! The food was great. We had cheese enchiladas, beef quesadillas and small sopapillas! Super delicious!!!

I ate here for a second time for dinner just to make sure: My conclusion, it’s just not that good. The beef/retried beans are equivalent to a Taco Bueno, shredded chicken is okay, and rice is bland. The service was pretty lousy too, $ 2.50 for a fountain drink and I didn’t get a single refill while eating spicy Mexican food. I’ll keep trying places

I had The Blue Goose Cantina for the second time at dinner last night. Location: 9⁄10 On Midway very near the intersection with Belt Line Road, this place is in a primo spot! Could only be better if it was across the street from my house! Haha! Ambiance: 9⁄10 Love this décor and overall feel of this place! Very much a Mexican Shack restaurant feel with all the color! I absolutely must sit near the automatic tortilla maker when I go because even though I have seen it every time now, it still puts me in a trance to watch them spin around and down on the tower being cooked! Not too loud, but not quiet either! I feel like I could cut loose in here without fear of offending anyone with my boisterous voice. Food: 6⁄10 So this rating is a bit of a weird one and I will explain why. The food itself, it absolutely delicious! 9⁄10 for the flavor! It is the value that brings the rating down. So let’s talk flavor first. We started the meal with the free chips and salsa and then we ordered a bowl of the regular queso. Their chips are a bit on the salty side(I actually like that but my gf doesn’t as much) and the salsa is spot on when it comes to flavor balanced against heat. The queso is one of the best I have ever had. Spices and the cheese just work so well together and it is served in a mini taco salad shell! So eat the queso with the chips and then when it is very low, break the bowl apart and eat that too! So good! I ordered a half order of the Blue Goose Quesidillas. It came with Guac and Pico and she asked if I wanted Sour Cream as well; Most def! Those were very good. The cubed chicken meat inside was delicious and the spinach was cooked the right amount. Loved these. For the half order, I believe it was about $ 8 or $ 9, which seemed a bit steep for basically one tortilla stuffed and folded in half. I also ordered the Goose Eggs. These are battered and fried half jalapenos stuffed with chicken and cheese served in a sort of open-face style. It comes with their Durango Sauce, which I had no idea what it was. Turned out to be basically Guac and Sour Cream mix. The«Eggs» were good aside from being a bit on the spicy side because they do not clean the jalapeño before stuffing it, so you get all the spice! My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Fajitas for one. They came out and she was instantly disappointed in the amount of chicken that was on the sizzle plate. Maybe 7 – 8 strips on chicken meat. Not very much for the $ 15 cost associated with it. The veggies appeared to have been tossed on at the last minute because any color they had on them was seasoning and not actual browning from being cooked. At best, the veggies were par cooked. She enjoyed the flavor and cook on the chicken itself. Service: 6⁄10 The service here was basically medium for us. The girl that was waiting on us did an okay job, however she did refill our drinks a couple of times without asking if we wanted more chips and salsa. We actually had a random server/bus boy ask if we wanted more chips before out waitress did. We told him yes and off he went to get them. Right then, our waitress walked up to refill our drinks. I asked for more salsa at this time and she said okay. She told the same guy getting our chips, however we did have to ask him for salsa when he brought the chips because he did not bring any salsa at that time. Overall: 3⁄5 I would say overall, I had a good experience. The food is what will bring me back in the future for sure. The service was decent, that could be a bit better. The value was acceptable, but I’d like a bit more bang for my buck. Next time, I will try a different item. I would recommend a visit to The Blue Goose Cantina. Go for a relaxed time and have some queso and drinks and don’t rush yourself.

Great food, great service. The food was good value for money and came quick for a Friday afternoon. The server was attentive. Wouldn’t hesitate to come here again.

Every time I am in Addison I come here. Their Nachos are some of the best I have had in the country. Usually sit at the bar and service is great. Can’t beat the fresh tortilla machine in the middle of the restaurant. I really like the food and Margaritas here. Highly recommend it

Picked up take out on my way home from the airport after being out of the country for a week. The queso and ground beef tacos really hit the spot. Sounds simple, but I have had a hard time being impressed with such simple requirements in Dallas.

I lived in Addison and didn’t know we had a Blue Goose! I’m inclined to compare this to the Lower Greenville location in Dallas. The service was lacking… the waiter couldn’t find hot sauce. it felt like he couldn’t be bothered with it. We went to the bloody mary bar and borrowed it from there. When he brought our food and we were all asking for what we ordered that he didn’t bring he just seemed so frustrated with us. These were items that we ordered in advance of our food arriving. He never asked if I’d like another drink either. The food is delicious though. I usually just get a hard and soft taco with ground beef. In Blue Goose Fashion the ground beef takes up about half the taco… more than I want but you aren’t being ripped off(: The soft shell was super small this time around that I just ate it with a fork because nothing would fit in it. I could have asked for another and positive they would have given it to me with no charge but seemed like he was already overwhelmed with us. I’d give them another shot though… however, if I can, I would just go to the lower Greenville location.

We LOVED the brisket tacos! The flavor was amazing. Chips and salsa also really good. Server and the hostess were both very helpful in choosing what to order. Food was brought to our table very quickly and the server was attentive. Will definitely go back the next time I’m in Dallas.

Was pleased by the quality of my meal as was my daughter, but neither of us was blown away. Normally, when I go to a Mexican restaurant for the first time I like to try a child relleno, however theirs had peanuts and carrots in it which I’ve never heard of. When asked about it I was told it was a little sweet which was a no go. Anyway, I had a cheese enchilada and a brisket taco, which both tasted fine, however the taco got really soggy before I was half way through it. My daughter had a beef quesadilla which was pretty basic tasting as were the sides. Our server was attentive and the food arrives rather quickly for a busy Friday night. A decent option, but nothing to rave about in my opinion.

Horrible experience. We waited 15 mins before we had to go find someone to tell us who our waiter was. Food came out cold and wrong. And we only got a frozen margarita 10 mins before we were about to leave on National Margarita Day!!! But most of all Josh Southard needs an immediate class in customer service and managerial skills. The restaurant was beyond chaotic. The 5 surrounding tables were all services by 5 different waiters. If management would have been great… reminiscent of last year. Hate to say, I won’t be back.

The patio was so airy and nice. Not roomy enough if you plan on going with a party of more than 4. I can say that the service was awesome. They were very friendly and helpful when it came to deciding what to order. The sour cream enchiladas were good. The sauce was more of a cheese and sour cream blend. The chicken wasn’t as flavorful as I had hoped but the jalapeños made up for it. The burrito lunch special came with 2 medium burritos not 1 large as indicated. That wasn’t a problem at all. The seasoning was spot on! We’ll mostly definitely return to taste test other items on the menu in the near future.

Although it is family owned and has been there forever we found the shrimp cocktail delicious but the way it was server bin a beer mug awkward. The food was good, but not great. When I’m in Dallas I still prefer several other Mexican food places over the Blue Goose. The service was exceptional.

We had food catered from here today at my job. At first, it was very hard getting through to the catering contact, Molly, as it seems their phone was not recording messages and always sending me to VM with the catering line. After calling this location, a woman gave Molly my direct number and she called me to set up a quote. The food was delivered a little earlier than expected– and was wonderful. They promised all utensils, plates, napkins, 2 tacos pp, taco filling(chicken and beef), tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, salsa, queso, chips, beans and sopapillas! Fabulous deal for $ 10pp. We only had to get drinks. Very efficient and the warm food came in a great portable oven until he set it up. I have not been to the actual location but after how great this catering experience was I am inclined to try it out!

Quick, friendly service and solid Mexican food. I enjoyed the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans… really quite good. Their chips and salsa are pretty amazing too, but certainly can spoil your meal if you eat too many.

Wow blue goose really out did theirselves when helping me host an engagement party for my best friend!!! Called a month ago to set up the reservations for the party. Everyone I talked to was super friendly and more then helpful! I feel horrible I don’t remember anyone’s names!!! Epic fail!!! I was really overwhelmed with my 50 guest! They had us on the front patio, it was I closed and had fan. Also away from the rest of the restaurant. We were able to rearrange the picnic tables into three rows. They also helped me set up my dessert table! That’s right, they let me bring my own cake… And cheesecake… And fiesta sign!!! The servers went over and beyond to help me!!! I didn’t get to try any of the food bc I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off! I did how ever have a few house margaritas! They were perfectly sweet and tart! And STRONG! I will be back very soon to try some of their tasty food! If you are looking for a GREAT place to host an event I would 110% recommends blue goose!

Tex-Mex to me has always been just Tex-Mex, nothing extraordinarily special, but pretty obvious when it’s done poorly. There is a standard bar of what you should expect though. A sit down restaurant must at least be better than the fast food debauchery down the street for the price they’re selling at. Now I’m not saying Blue Goose is flat out nasty. The waitresses are very pleasant with smiles that may deter you from other restaurant nuances. Inconsistently made skinny margaritas can make your Saturday or Sunday brunch bearable. Orange cheese that latched onto my «chorizo» omelette did not make me feel any better with the side of fruit. I could recreate the imposter breakfast potatoes with an insanely old box of powdered mashes, sweat, fat, and two chunks of actual potatoes for good measure(that’s what makes them real)! The rice was the driest I have ever had, drier than the rice during high school fiesta lunch day. You know public schools are on a budget too! The tough brisket tacos had hardly any flavor, but nothing the spicy salsa could fix. Yes, the salsa made everything better, including the green cream sauce that wasn’t pure guacamole, or was it? It’s watery texture made me think it came from the leftover guac juice. Well, Dos Equis on draft is always a plus, but not enough for me to pay this much for what is served up. Even the colorful and lively interior could not lift my spirits up from this meal. Now I know, and it’s going to take a darn good special for me to revisit!
